  1. Oh thank goodness, I don't feel so useless now! hahah
  2. I totally know what you guys mean, i was a MESS!!! All I can say is that you will be fine and come out the otherside wondering what all the fuss was about! I kept motivated and excited by looking at all the success stories on the site and all the photos under the photo tab - just reinforcing that it's worth the hard work of the pre-op diet and the jitters and that a wonderful life lies ahead!! xx
  3. Of course you can join!! Whats your 10th of April weight though!! x Sexylips, what's your pre-op weight/highest weight?
  4. Oh darling, that's awful. You have done so well weight wise considering you haven't been banded yet!!!!! Take care xx
  5. I am 2 weeks liquid (anything that will go up straw) then 1 week very mushy then 1 week chunky mushy then solids. Its to stop the pouch getting over filled and pulling on the stiches that are holding your band in place. To be fair though, I am 8 days post op and I have been eating food that wouldn't quite fit up a straw, you just have to be VERY careful with portion sizes so that it doesn't stretch on the stitches. Have a chat with Surgeon anyway if you are worried. xx
  6. I feel like I am doing better with my eating today, had 1/2 cup of soup, a protein shake and 300ml of pureed veges & chicken. This lard has got to be coming off me!!!
  7. SISSY THATS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! You're down 44lb and you were banded same time as me!!!
  8. Yay!! Everyone is doing so awesomely!! The following people please tell me their "pre-preopdiet" weight/highest (so long as highest wasn't a year ago or anything! since we're documenting this part of the weight loss journey!) - BandGroupie - Sissy - Celtic Angel - Mrs Mitch - Thinwithin - Hannah That way I can calculate how much we have all lost so far as a group!!!! Sissy, Celtic and Mrs Mitch we are still waiting on this friday's weight too!!!!!
  9. Nerves are normal, but I found them to be completely unnecessary! The operation and recovery were a breeze, and afterwards you really aren't hungry. Although, today I have had 1 cup orange juice and 1/2 cup of vege Soup and it is now 6.30pm I am feeling hunger pains in my stomach for a bit of food - probably cannot ask for everything!! The pre-op diet, its the doc's choice and designed to shrink the liver to reduce operation risk - sometimes if it is longer than 2 weeks it is an insurance requirement to "prove" that you want it badly enough. Food - you will be able to eat again! Don't stress too much! Personally, if I could pick my perfect last meal it would be sweet and sour pork chinese!!! YUM!!
  10. JayTee, I felt the same - I need my farewell burger, steak, massive loaf of bread... but I can honestly tell you, I couldnt care less now about those things. If I never ate sushi again (which was my absolute favourite) then there would be a bit of grief, but no where near as much as there would have been before. The band makes you permanently not hungry, you don't care. Besides, I am sure you will be able to eat sushi again and waffle... just CHEW CHEW CHEW!!!! Good luck to everyone being banded on Friday the 10th! I will be thinking of you xxx:lol:
  11. Hey guys Well it's friday here in little old NZ, and weighing in today at 128.7kg or 283lb is Lingling. That's total loss of 8.7kg or 19lb. I thought it would be cool to work out how much weight we have lost as a group and cheer each other on - so have made a little spreadsheet, anyone can join - this is just the people who have contributed so far, and I will do a new one after everyone has posted each week. You just have to all tell me your pre-pre-op diet weight and of course this weeks weight so that we can work out total weight lost!! yayay!!xx
  12. Hi guys Am having a bit of a freak out today. What if I don't lose weight? What if I have shelled out $16,000 and I don't lose weight and I get to be the size of the earth and am alone forever?
  13. You can be an honorary Bunny Bandster!!! We should make a special section Pharmagirl!! Scoob - Feels just like eating normally as I have no restriction and am only on liquid. However I have been having some mashies so I have got full a couple of times which just feels like normal getting full. If you drink too fast though I am sure that I feel it come up my oesophagus as its like a sink and it will drain but if you fill up too quick will overflow!! ha ha. Pub Quiz is an english thing I think? Groups of 5-10 people sit in a pub drinking beer and wine (especially in winter by a big fire) and answer rounds of general knowledge questions in the goal of getting a bar tab! A pub is a bar (incase you guys don't have those!!)
  14. Well I had my first glass of wine! Great!!!! Didnt get as tipsy as I thought! Just been to a pub quiz and sat around people having steaks, burgers, wontons etc - so jealous - but ordered a plate of pumpkin mash with gravy - filled the hole!!! How's everyone else doing?
  15. Just starting a new one as the old one is taking forever to load! As you were!
  16. Great work Knewme, I was banded on the 2nd April and I get what you mean - visualising the little pouch etc. I have not been hungry either except a little yesterday. Although I have had icecream which I never have and it was sooooooo good that i had to have another bowl. Hard that you don't get the FULL feeling on liquids - just the constant "im not very hungry" feeling. Can't wait to have both!!! Icecream going down the drain as cannot have that temptation! I tried to eat the tiniest bit of cake (like as long as your thumb) and chewed bites off it as big as little fingernail, and thought i'd be sweet but BOY will I not cheat again! bloated indigestion freakout central!!! I was all concerned I'd buggered it up well and truly! liquid liquid liquid for me until they say so! Have my first post op appt this afternoon at 4.30, so will see how well I have done. I think I will only be down about 1-2kilos (2-5lb) as I have weighed on my scales. A little disappointed but HELLO!!! ITS ONLY BEEN A WEEK!!! Will let ya'll know how I get on. Off shopping this afternoon... fun times!! Knewme - how on EARTH are you walking 3miles - I am so exhausted after DRIVING 3miles!!
  17. Maybe just make sure you are keeping your 2litres of water up per day. Other than that, stick to it, it will work if you stick to it!! xx
  18. I hope for: - A hot husband! - The ability to get pregnant - so long Polycystic Ovaries! - Not to die of a heart attack at 40 like both my parents! - To feel sexy and confident and for my weight not to be the BIGGEST thing about me, the preceeds all other things and defines me to everyone (including myself). I want to be the "pretty loud girl" rather than the "fat loud girl" or even just the "loud girl" would do me fine! - I want to RUN!!!!!!!
  19. Oh goodness, I keep forgettting to take my multivites! I have never needed them (the perks of eating EVERYTHING in sight i guess ha ha) but must remember to take them. I bought them pre-op and really gotta get into the habit!! Band_Groupie - mine are just normal women's Multivitamins, let me know if you want specifics! Thanks for the reminder.
  20. That will make you even hungrier I fear! That, or make you faint!!
  21. Here is a perfect explaination of Ketosis: Lowcarbezine!: What the heck is ketosis? And how important is it to my low carb diet? The Atkins diet is all about it, but that part is irrelevant - the reason they want us to do low carb/low cal pre-op diet is to use all the liver fat up to make surgery safer. So if you gotta cheat, cheat with veges because they don't have any carbs or calories! They laughed at me at the doc office when I said I am sorry I cheated, I had more than a cup of veges at night. They cracked up!
  22. If only I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have been nervous at all!!!! It was a walk in the park!!! You will be fine for the surgery, and fine after the surgery and then you get to be healthy FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I had done this when i was 20!! woe woe woe is me!
  23. I could be back at work now I'd say but I have 2 weeks off. I had my op on thursday morning, friday off, sat and sunday off, could have gone back monday with a bit of pain but emotionally I would have struggled I think to get my head around the food adjustment. Better to have more time off I think.
  24. Fingers crossed for both of you Kellster and WannaB!!xx
  25. YEEHAAA GOAL150! Congrats!!! Onwards and DOWNwards!!
