  1. I know, of course, that pop and coffee do, but I believe sugar and nutrasweet do also. did you change toothpaste??
  2. Hello! I just went thru all this and am still in the process. First, you have to call your insurance company and find out if its covered. For me they told me where to go on the internet to get the particular hoops that I have to jump thru--but for the most part it was clear as mud and they would not explain it to me. I don't want to jump thru hoops on my own to find out it wasn't right. i.e. Weight Watchers and Curves won't work with my insurance. Then, find a bariatric place that is in you network--makes a big difference with the co-pay! My mistake was to believe the person who answered the phone--hind sight says talk to there insurance person directly. I have wasted a month thinking I was waiting for a call to set up my consult visit when in acctuallity they sent me a packet that said that they were out of network, and were no help in what to do. I finally found a place and have talked to the insurance person there a few times to make sure I know exactly what to do. I'm glad I did cuz they have the dietician and provider I can go to and they know what to put in the file. My regular doctor--I love her but she doesnt know a thing about this or what to put in the file. My consultation is tomorrow and my dietician and provider appts are next Tuesday! :cursing: Then I have to start the therepist supervised exercise. :tt2: I'm going for the 3 month multi-disaplainary one. Getter done!! :tt1: Good luck, hope this helps. Spud Mama
  3. Thank you all for your encouragement. I appreciate it. I will persevere thru whatever hoops I have to jump thru no matter how much its out of my comfort zone.
  4. So my consult appt is next Wed. I am anxious to get the diet thing going but don't want to lose weight b4 my appt cuz I heard everything goes off of that weight. :cheers2: Let me know if any of you have done this--I called the place I was told for physician supervised exercise, got off the phone and was ecstatic that I can get this going (with exception of waiting for consult. lol), then said OMG!! I have to wear some kind of workout clothes and actually workout in front of someone!! I huff and puff climbing to my apartment on the second floor!! What the heck am I going to do for an hour and fifteen minutes with someone "observing" me?? I am a hairstylist so I work in the public eye but when not working I'd rather be hiding from any judgemental eyes. I wont even comfortably go for a walk outside in daylight. :w00t: I NEED words of wisdom and encouragement!
  5. Hey Stylist43, as I, too, am a hair stylist I must add to your list and say that I can't wait to not have my boobs hang in someones face when I shampoo their hair!! :scared2:
  6. OMG!! Christy, you made me laugh so much I CRIED!!! I will definitely think of you if I ever have to do that before my surgery!! Thanks for the laugh!! Spud Mama
  7. Julie.ann, I hope you don't mind, I copied and pasted your post to send to 2 friends of mine. I want to get the band and a co-worker and I talked about it but she's young and not sure--she has time. And my best friend considered it a few years ago after emergency back surger but says she likes to eat too much to do it. I am so worried of losing her too young as she is in her early 40's and has diabetes. Anyway, thanks for your post, it helped answer my question of why do the band if the diet and excersise is the same as w/o the band.
