  1. I went for my fill yesterday. Last free one. I watched as my doctors PA drew out 4 cc which was supposed to be 5 and then he put in an additional .6. I said so now I have 4.6 and he said oh no, it is 5.6. Now I know that the material could have absorbed some of the liquid but when you pull out 4 to me that means you have 4. He wouldn't give me anymore because under the flouriscope it didn't look like it was going through well. I am so totally under the impression that medical is always looking for the buck. I am sure I will have to go back for a fill or two and pay for it. It is so discouraging. Today I am on liquids so I really don't know how this will affect me. Everything is sliding through today.
  2. So far and I am 7 months out I haven't had a problem with acid reflux. Maybe I am just lucky. Hope you can get some relief with an antacid.
  3. JoanMarie that sounds like good advice. I notice that a lot of people are having a lot of fills in a short time. I am 7 months out and have had only 2 fills for a total of 5 cc's. I am still loosing very slowly but I am going to have another fill in April. I hope that will help with my loss which had been slow lately.
  4. Salsa, hope your tummy tuck went well. I was wondering if more than one TT is the norm? Do people have to go back for more surgery after the initial tt? I haven't lost that much yet but my stomachs are hanging and someday I will definitely get one. I think the literature I read said it is best to wait a couple years before cosmetic surger. Guess that is to see if you really need it. I really enjoy this thread. Thanks
  5. Hello everyone! I have been getting outside to walk again now that the snow and mud are gone. I am getting in a mile at lunchtime during the week and then come home and do 30 min on the tread climber. On the weekend I get in 2 miles and the tread climber. I feel great now if I could just start loosing again.
  6. The realize web site encourages you to keep track of your cc's. I have developed a dislike for my surgeon. He or his office people have made me wait 8 weeks or more between fills. It was very frustrating dealing with that. He did put in about 4 cc's in my first fill but then about 1 the last time. I am scheduled for another fill and my last free one on 4/20. I am looking forward to hopefully feeling some restriction. I really try to measure my food and not overeat but my problem is eating between meals. Maybe if I get the real restriction I will stay full longer and quit eating between meals. I have been trying to pick up my exercise to deal with this but there is only so many hours in a day.
  7. Wow, just read the entire thread and it is amazing. Salsa you are a great mentor. I was banded on 8/14/08 and have lost 49 pounds so far. I feel so much better. I can easily walk a couple trail miles now and then have a tread climber that I do about 30 minutes a day. I would love to start running. Never really have my entire life but it is a dream. I am 58 years old and have the back pain and various joint pains if I don't do my stretching daily. I have been in a rut lately with my weight loss but you are so inspiring that I think I can get going now. I have printed out you tough love post and I am going to hang it on my frig to keep me thinking of it. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
  8. You go girl! I can't wait to hear about your journey in the loosers club.
  9. When I get a fill I am supposed to go back to liquids for a few days. Does that hold for unfills too?
  10. Thanks for talking about your diet. I really believe that is my problem. Can't seem to get that down pat. I was under the asumption that protein drinks were acceptable. I have been having one for lunch to keep my protein level up. There is just not enough time to eat a good meal at lunch time. I have been using my lap band site to journal my food intake but I find it inaccurate for calories. They seem to be much higher on the lap band site than there really are. I guess I need to record my own food journal and it would be more accurate. I just scheduled my third fill for next month. I hope I can get it all together and get back on the loosing trac. I am so tired of weighing myself and being disappointed.
  11. I am certainly at a stand still as far as my weight loss goes. My intake is usually aroung 1200 and I do a variety of exercise but haven't really lost anything in a couple of months. I am thinking of getting my third fill and maybe that will help. I do try to eat protein first veggies and fruit next and light on the carbs but I need some extra help now.
  12. I drink the 20 gram protein EAS. Usually I have one for lunch every day. Sometimes I will blend a banana in a vanilla one. It taste pretty good that way. I usally like the chocolate though.
  13. Congrats everyone. I will be 6 months out on the 14th and have lost 48 pounds. Half way to goal! In a snag right now but I am picking up on my exercise so I hope that helps.
  14. I have used a machine like that. It was a platform and used sonic sounds to vibrate. It did jiggle all the muscles so I guess you could loose a little weight with it. It reminded me of the old machines they used to have in the gyms that had belts that went around you and vibrated only this did your whole body.
  15. I gurgle frequently but it doesn't have anything to do with eating. Sometimes in the morning before I get out of bed I can hear my stomach. It is kind of funny. Just air in the stomach or intestines. I don't know what a sweet spot will feel like. How did you know you hit your sweet spot? I don't know what to expect. I have only had two fills so far and 6 months out. I do think I need another fill now. Just wish I had an idea what it feels like to hit your sweet spot.
