  1. I was banded 11/17/-6 go for 6 week check up the 6th do you think they will do a fill? I am not feeling any restriction any more I have lost only 14 libs since the banning 20 since I starting the program and I am already getting discouraged..help fill me in on your weight loss journey.
  2. I did gain 2 lbs for my weigh in but I was foing back and forth for months. I will say again that maybe your pca can help find other health issues that you have. I had more than 2 health issues but was so surprised that I was approved. Don't give up keep fighting hopefully they will approve you.
  3. Was your second operation a lab ban also. I am going for my 6 wk check up Tuesday do you think they will give me a fill. I have not felt full since my 4 week date and now I am eating more. Also do you count calories or measure food amounts instead? Looking forward to you advise.
  4. Could you tell me where to find the place to put a signature on my personal information so my ticker will be displaced when I post. Thanks
  5. I am only 5 weeks out and yes I have days where I am very hunger and some I am not. It looks like you have lost a lot of weight you must be very happy with yourself. I was told as I went into the program that it was not going to be easy. I am already surprized at how hard it is going to be. Tell me a little about how you have been sucessful. I think we need to help each other stay positive. What do you think?
  6. Congrats on your surgery and the courage to self pay. i know I was so nervous waiting for the insurance co to approve me. I have high blood pressure, heart problems, high cholestoral and was taking meds for my stomach. The insurance co was paying for 5 meds every month. I am down already to just my high blood pressure med so that is just 2 they are already saving money. Again my age I think was a factor. I know I had the lap ban so I would not end up like my mother who spent the last 20 yrs of her life home bound and died at 71 of nothing but complications from her weight. I also wish I had been more understand then of how hard it was for her not to eat. I did not have the serious weight issues then. It has been 5 weeks for me and I have stopped loosing weight and am starting to get discouraged this site is really a help.thanks to all who post and share.
  7. I hope you find a way around this problem but I think they really look at the medical conditions. Maybe you could get some help from your primary care doctor. I was a BMI of 35 with 2 health conditions. You can see my age as well which may have been a factor in getting approval I haveBC BS federal they approved me in 3 weeks I was shocked and thought I would have to fight it. I think my lap ban program director was helpful as well.
  8. I have BC BS Federal. I had a BMI of 35 with 2 health conditions. I was approved no problem. I confess I had to gain 3 lbs before my weigh in. The health issues is what they really look at. It will save them money in the long run. i am now 5 weeks post op and very happy. I feel very bad for the woman who has been denied twice but you really need 2 medical conditions.
  9. I wish you well. I had my surgery 11/17/08 and I did great. They gave me meds before surgery and I had no nausa at all. I did follow the no eating program and I think that is what helped.
  10. How did you get the ticker on to this web site? I found the ticker web site but don't know how to add it to my signature. Hope you can help. I have only been banded for 5 weeks but also have not problem eating anything. I do need to chew my food or i get a stomach ach.
  11. I am only post lap ban 5 weeks but wanted to ask you this question. Do you really want those 77 pounds back? I have only lost only 20 lbs but don't want the weight back. I pray for you that you will find what you need to be happy with your band. I hope you can find the support you need to go forward. I just found this site and I am hoping it will help me face the future. Can i help in any way?
  12. Thank you for your imput. It was encouraging to hear from you. Looks like you had your lap ban around same time I did and you are close to my age. I was so pleased to find this web site and last night as I was able to read about the problems and victories that others are having. The support group I attend has almost all gastric by pass people and I find that their challenges are nothing like what I will be facing. I noticed that some people have a weight loss graft at the bottom of their posts. Do you know how to acccess and make one of these? As of today I am back on track and lost the 3 lbs that I gained over Christmas. I really was pleased at how you prepared so you would not experience guilt. Guilt is something I am hoping to avoid because it is so self defeating. I knew I would face set backs but did not expect it so soon after surgery. However after reading some of the posts that talk about fillings and feeling full I think I am doing pretty well. How have you planned for your weight loss goals?
  13. I was banded on 11-17-2008 My first month went great I lost 9 lbs the first 2 weeks. I go for my 6 week check up on 1-6-2009. I think I have lost another 5 lbs. I have had a bad few days around Christmas. Some one sent my some candy and I had some and then felt very guilty. I am trying to get back on track. It did not take long after surgery for me to find out I still have head hunger. Thats why I am here today. Any encouragement out there. The support group I go to has very few lap ban people and I find that gastric by pass people do not have the same problems that I will be having.
