  1. Ladyjp, Sorry if I missled you. I don't have a fill yet because I haven't got the band yet. I get the band April 6. in Mexico. On the other hand My wife had her fill about 2 weeks ago and even though a bite here and there might get a little stuck, she said it is still the best thing in the world to be really full. Have you tried to take in more protein and fiber? I know it seems like men loose faster (I here that all the time from my wife) but her weight loss increased when she upped hers as well. I have slowly turned my food addiction to the LBT addiction. I am so amazed at the success pictures of the before and after. I think that inspires me as much as anything because I know we're the next to succeed. Keep me posted on your loss because we all need each others support.
  2. Ladyjp, Welcome to the forum. I haven't had surgery yet either. My wife had hers 11-20-08. Mine is scheduled for 4-6-09. I got the nurse to weigh me when wife went so started ticker then. It's amazing that high protein and high fiber and low carbs really works for me. Icall it my pre-op pre-op since it will be 5 months. Started out 342 weighed this morning 301.4. Can't wait to be under 300 again. I want to be under 290 by April but I think I've done great concidering Thanksgiving and Christmas. As people has posted, My knees and ankles thank me everyday. Good look on your journey and looking forward to seeing your success.
  3. Elsid, nobody has all the answers. They are more than one way to get from point A to point B. It sure is faster to gain than to loose. The main thing is your headed in the right direction. Everyone is made differently. If you feel you need to go on liquids go on liquids. Just for thought, have you concidered half liquids and half foods? Anyway keep up the good work and I'll be looking forward to the next post that says you've lost the 12 pds and more on top of that. Florida Pete keep up the good work your doing great.:thumbup::w00t::thumbup:
  4. I was reading different posts on the website and found where people from the Pandhanle of Florida were talking about getting a get together where they could meet. I'm new here and I was just wandering has anybody in Alabama done that before?
  5. My wife was also banded by by Ortiz in Nov. and I will go April 6, 2009. Great facility and great care while there. Everyboby was very friendly and there website speeks for itself. I believe the other places are probably as good and some are even cheaper. We just liked them the best.
  6. Giving up great food is hard. REALLY REALLY HARD When your a professional eater like I am. Seriously, Me and my wife combined spent too much money on 2 surgeries to let food get in the way of a better life. We've lost about 35 pounds each since NOV. 20. The longer it goes, the less addicted to food I am. Now I'm getting addicted to this website. Thanks to all!!!
  7. Welcome to the forum. I'm having surgery April 6. I guess I'm on a 3 month pre-op diet. I haven't started all liquids yet. I'm dreading that. Wish you all the best!!!!!
  8. My wife had her first fill sat. in Mexico. She was starting to get discouraged because the scales haven't moved much in a couple of weeks. I reminded her she has lost about 40 lbs. overall. I told her even though the scales haven't moved doesn't mean she's not loosing inches. Already from a size 22 to a 16. To put things in perspective, I read where a man said If you only loose 1 pound a week thats great. TAKE A POUND OF GREASE AND PUT IT IN A PAN AND MELT IT. LET IT COOL AND THAT'S WHAT LOOSING A POUND OF FAT LOOKS LIKE
  9. Weigh everyday. Strange thing, here lately I wegh more in the morning than I do when I come home from work in the evening. Food and TV are not a good combination. Need a new hobby.
  10. Getting banded 4/6/09 in mexico. Getting ready for the journey.
  11. I'm having surgery in April and I was wondering what is the average time off work before you returned to work. I work in maintaince and it can be hard some times . Idon't want to stay out too long but I want to stay out long enough. The personel lady where I work said I would be out at least 3 weeks she thought. Is that about right?
  12. Having surgery first week in April. My name is Greg and I'm from Alabama (Roll Tide Roll). I work in maintaince and I'm 40 yrs. old. I weighed 342 back in october but i'm down to 314 (310 before the christmas dinner that I tried to eat everyyhing in sight). I've been reading the threads for a couple of months but I decided that reading wasn't enough because if you actually post your weight you will work harder to loose it . Support does help but your the one that has to work at it. The post you had about the competition was great. It gets that competative drive going. I have 3 months 1 week to surgey and the real journey begins. I'm trying to loose all I can before surgery but after surgery the competition is on. I plan on kicking butt and taking names. lol Hope everybody had a great Christmas and wishing you a hppy new year.
  13. Hi new to forum.I'm going to use Dr. Ortiz in Mexico the first Monday in April. My wife used him in November and I was really impressed with the place . It is not your typical clinic it is an Obesity Center. They have preformed thousand's of surgeries with no complications. you decide best of luck|||| :tongue2:
  14. Having surgery April 6, 2009 in Mexico. I really enjoy reading all the info on this website. I have been doing really great on my pre-op pre-op. I started out 342 but I'm down to 310. Christmas Day the old self came out and I tried to eat the whole house. But, I plan on getting back on track tomorrow because I have 3 months to get under 300 before surgery. :tongue2:
