  1. Tina and Candy thanks for the offer I will take either of you on it. I will be out of town today, I'm available sunday. Maybe we can meet up somewhere. Do you both live in Elk Grove? I live in Mather. Please let me know your availability.
  2. Thanks Riley!! I will go by the Health Education Office here and see if I can pick one up.
  3. Riley, They didn't give us any CDs. I wonder why not. Well it's sort of too late now! I'll see if they have any here in SAC. Or maybe i can get one from anyone here from SAC.
  4. It's all good Chris lol. Hot tubing sounds good!Girl 5a.m we shuld go to bed, that's the time I got up to go to the class.
  5. Candy you will be fine with the shaved ice.Candy you are losing well! I cracked up when saw the portion size cups that Robin gave out. I sure as heck hope we get full off that lol. I really enjoyed the class today. Chris I was there during the time that you got your fill. I left around 1:20. Too bad I wish I knew you were there. Sheena enoy your class, girl it's almost time for you too! hopefully we'll see you at the next meet. Chris please remind me to attend the next Point West Meeting.
  6. I have the WII too and it so much fun the kids love the WII Sports often the do it with me. I like the jogging one, it's so funny if you jog too fast you fall flat on your face lol. But you can get a good work out on it. You may have to alternate the activities.
  7. I think Robin did too! She mentioned that her boyfriend is trying to do the 1200 cal diet hhhmmm????? You can tell from her arms and her badge pic.
  8. Wow, Chris what a day huh? I'm glad it all turned out ok. So I went to my pre-op class with Liz and Robin and physical with Tom. All went well, I weighed twice and both times the scale reading was different 299 and 302 so guess what I will take 299 LOL.Bev had me keep my shoes on to weigh (I forgot my socks) however Tom's assistant had me take my shoes off. Well my surgery has been moved to 5/20 instead of 5/19. I was a bit bummed but that's ok it's only a day :-(. OMG did Robin have GB or LB she so totallly look like it??
  9. Candy, Tina, Pam and Riley it was a pleasure meeting you all and Chris and Nicole it is nice to see you as usual. All you lades looked good and healthy, can't wait to see the results i the next month. We'll be rocking.
  10. You go Candy with your "bad" self. what are you doing different? 15lbs in a week? Wow, it's a good thing keep it up.
  11. Goodness, I haven't made it to any of the recent lunches yet. The timing is not good for me. I;m preparing for surgery next week. So once again I have to pass. Hopefully by the time we meet again I will be banded. I have my pre-op classes and surgeon appt Wednesday and Thursday. I also have to finalize a few things at the office before I take off.:tt2:
  12. Glad it went down Nicole. I live in Sacramento.
  13. Nicole so what did you do when the food got stuck?
  14. Candy, I'm glad to see you on more frequently, i'm sure you are doing well. Heather welcome! Candra and Heather enjoy the orientation. As Nicole said it's a breeze. The interesting thing is that you will meet a lot of people and only a handful will follow through. I asked Liz how many people really go through with it and she said less than a third. We are part of the lucky third .
  15. Thanks Tina, yes we should talk. Thanks Ladies for the compliment. We are all indeed beautiful Ladies. Tina, sorry I suppose I didn't give you my number ooopss. Here we go 916-730-7641cell and home 362-4888. Zoe you can have it as well if you ever want to talk. Please let me know when you write my number down so that I can delete it from the post. :-).
  16. Zoe if you've made up your mind then go for it. You will have to leave McDonalds for a looonnnnggg time lol. forget the fact that it's 5K ft from your house. I love Chinese and Italian food but haven't eaten it for more than three months now, salad and chicken has been my best friend( however every now and then we fight lol). The whole idea is to train yourself to eat healthy. We all cheat but in moderation, well I can't say that for myself today:lol:. I struggled with the 1200 cal too, but once I got over the rigirous three days hump it was all good from then on. I wouild say try and eat healthy and not try to do the 1200 cal until you go to the orientation. After orinetation try and push the petal to the metal lol . You can do this girl, save your kidneys and liver from all these weightloss meds. I have done them ALL. I'm glad your foot is better, you are going to need them more than ever.:-).
  17. scroll up to the top of the page and go under User CP. click on Edit your signature and it will give you a box that you can input your info. Save or submit when you are done.let me know if you still need assistance.
  18. Zoe good to see you back. Regarding the referral from your doctor,1. your meet the weight criteria for the surgery.2. You are at risk for serious health issues. You have to decide if this is what you really want. I have brewed over this for the past 31/2 years and finally decided to do the lapband only because I know I need that assistance in controlling my poor eating habits. If you are confident that you can lose weight and keep it off then I won't suggest this. As most of us on here will tell we have all attempted the 20, 40 60 80lbs weight loss, however I can truly tell you that I have not been successful at keeping it off and I refuse to fool myself to think that I can do it all on my own. The band is a tool to help us reach our goals, we have other difficult tasks such as fighting our inner demons, ie.food , depression etc. The Psych eval is a breeze they want to make sure that you are not adddicted to food, depressed or obsessed with food and or other behaviors that may prevent you from losing and maintaining your weight with LB or gastric Bypass. We all have some sort of stress and it doesn't necessarily mean that we are depressed (trust I've had my moments) So don't be scared. I had Dr.Schnurr, and she was super cool! You go through sleep apnea if you have sleeping issues or snore. I don't have to have that test because the above items don't apply and Ladies please add on on or correct me if I am wrong about the apnea. Clearly something has provoked your interest in bariatric surgery, so take your time and make your decision. We are here to support you. The good thing is that you go through this experience with people who have been there and done that. What City do you live in?
  19. Have you guys heard of Myocel Protein Powder? I was surfing the net and came across it, it appears some doctors had their patients go on 1-2 weeks liquid diet before surgery.
  20. Thanks Tina. OMG, I ate three pizzas for luch and strawberry icecream cake. I'm trying not to beat myself up but did is crazy. I have to stay under goal weight and I'm truly struggling.
  21. Thanks Candy, I know it's going to be tough. I was walking hours after my C-section and didn't feel much pain for too long, so I hope I can weather this process too. You are so funny about the food commercials, the interesting thing is that you see 3-4 commercials with food and then one for healthy living(exercise) comes on LOL. We (our society)are so engaged with food it's ridiculous. We are working past the all food mentality right ladies??? :-) . Needless to say I am struggling this week because its almost TOM and I don't have any wiggle room to cheat since my classes are next week and surgery a week from next Tuesday. I feel like I can eat a horse right now! HELP!!!!! I hope all is well with everyone.
  22. Whew it's good to know that they will do the surgery, thanks for the feedback Chris and Tina. Sure Tina you can send me your number. My surgeon is Dr.Park. Chris I hope you break plateau soon!! I know once you break it, the weight starts coming off quick.
  23. Thanks Tina!! I have 13days to d-day AAHHH LOL. Speaking of period, will they perform surgery if you are on your period? I'm cutting it close!
  24. Hi Zoe, welcome to our abode. No Kaiser does not require 24 weeks of course before surgery. Are you a member of Kaiser? If you are then Your primary care physician has to refer you the Bariatric department and once they receive the referral they will call you for an orientation and then the process begin. You do have to lose 10% of your body weight before surgery. After your orientation and after you meet the surgeon it's all up to you to work on your weight to reach pre-surgery goal. Yes Kaiser covers for the bariatric surgery. So your first step is getting your referral on the way. You can ask questions as you proceed with the process. This group has been fortunate to have each other. We are a wealth of information. Don't feel bad about telling your weight when I started I weighed more than you :-) and I am the same height as you. This is where you are able to discuss your weight with people who understand you. So in a nut shell welcome to our group and please don't hesitate to ask away! Reggie
