    What the.....!

I weighed on Sunday. 339 lbs (40 lbs lost) I weighed this morning - gained 10 lbs. I have been watching my calorie and fat consumption and over the last four days average calorie - 970 average fat 29 grams. How is a ten pound gain even possible over for days? I hate my body right now. Sent from my Atrix HD
  2. Hello all - I am sure that there have been multiple topics on this conversation but I was unable to find a specific answer to my question. And that question is: Why do some doctors advocate counting fat grams vs counting calories or vice versa? I have attempted to count both and find that I have more freedom and flexibility counting calories rather than fat grams. What are some pros and cons and what are your recommendations?

  4. Ain't it funny how losing weight makes you look and feel like a completely different person? Good job - keep it up!
  5. I do have pool access. I didn't even think of that. Sent from my Atrix HD
  6. Thanks everybody. I have every intention of exercising but it's going to take some time for me to be physically able. I'm proud that I have been able to lose almost 40 lbs in three months without exercise and look forward to getting in the gym as soon as I'm able. Sent from my Atrix HD
  7. Who has lost a lot of weight without exercising? What are your secrets. Oan - before anyone says you have to exercise, I realize that and I know it is a big factor in losing weight. I'm just wondering.
  8. So I got my fill yesterday and it seems like my food passes through easier that before the fill. Anybody else experience this?
  9. Update: went to my Dr today and I've dropped 8 lbs since my last weigh in three weeks ago. YAY ME!! he also offered the same advice that many of you gave and told me that he was proud of me (sniff). I feel better now. Sent from my Atrix HD
  10. Hey all - I am getting extremely irritated with my weight loss progress or lack there of. I chatted about a month ago about how I had my surgery about 3 years ago and then my insurance ran out before I could get to the "green zone" fill level. In fact - I felt hardly any restriction. needless to say I gained all the weight I had lost back. Anyway - I started going back to my WL surgeon August 20th, 2012 and had lost 20 lbs by the end of September 2012. However, as of this morning, I have gained 3 lbs! It doesn't sound like a lot but it's frustrating to gain weight when I've been eating the right things, eating way less, and excersising 3 times a week. I shouldn't be GAINING anything. I'm getting frustrated. I'm at that point where I say "if i'm gaining weight eating like a vegan and excersising, then what's the point? Where's the nearest burger?!". I need some encouragement. PS - I use the Lose It weight loss website/phone app to log my calories, fat, and sodium nutrients as well as my excersises.
  11. Happy 45th Birthday Bracchus!

  13. In truth, I could have posted this in almost any of the forums on LapBandTalk but thought I would just start here. My name is RT. I was banded way back October 2009. I had three fills from the time of my surgery and then my insurance ran out in March of 2010! I had lost about 40 lbs at that time but never felt any significant restrictions. I kept telling my Dr. but he still would do small, incremental fills. Well - lo and behold, there were several other tragedies to hit in my life over the next couple of years and, needless to say, I regained most of the weight I had lost (stress is a B!tch)! Finally - this year things started to turn around and I was able to resume my adjustments. I had my first fill since March 2010 on September 11th 2012 and I am glad to say that I have already lost 19 lbs. I don't know how common this story is but I have refocussed myself and have made a new commitment to get treatments no matter what the cost and stick to a healty eating lifestyle. Wish me luck - I will keep in touch.

EXCELLENT! I need a partner to talk stuff over with (I'm not good at support groups). If you're okay with it - you can email me at bracchus2001@gmail.com and we can keep in touch and motivate one another. Randy

    Starting over

Stevee I read your story and it was if I was reading my own. I had my lap band surgery in November of last year and promptly lost 50 lbs by the end of January of this year. But then my insurance changed and I was no longer able to afford the cost for fills so I hadn't been to my surgeon for almost 10 months. Needless to say, I had gained 13 lbs back and was not happy about it - neither was my doctor. It definately takes more than a lap-band to change me...even with it, I have make my mind up to change my lifestyle. Here's what I realized. I want to live. For me. And I have to be selfish about that even if it means never going to lunch with co-workers; not eating whatever the wife cooks. Yes I know these actions do not sound selfish but that's because I'm trying to please others. I have to be selfish about wanting to live for me. I'm going to make this happen and it's not going to kill me. Are you with me? Randy
