  1. ...and speaking of busy.... As if I didn't have enough on my plate...I took my son to register for high school today and got wrangled by the Vice Pricipal to mentor a team of 15 kids once a week at the school on Friday mornings! (My daughter went there, so they know me and knew I was a good target, I suppose! LOL) So now I am volunteering at the High School! My son tried to act like he was embarrassed that I was going to be hanging out at his school, but he loves it! He was grinning the whole time! I have two goals in life: 1) To be the person that my dogs think I am, and 2) To embarrass my teenagers AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

  3. Thank you, MM! I will be sticking to the air conditioned gym during the week, and hopefully get up early Saturday and Sunday while it's cool(er) to go bike riding. At least until this heat breaks some. I'm 99.9% finished with my current project, so I'm about to take a serious break. Yes, I DO have a hectic schedule! I like flipping houses, but it is also the most exasperating thing I have done in my life, too. Contractors are a NIGHTMARE! I know how to do most of it myself, but there are just things that I flat don't WANT to do, and there are some things that I CAN'T do...like crazy electrical or plumbing problems. I like watching the shows, too...I wish I could flip a house as fast as they do! LOL But I don't do too badly...I'm averaging about one a month or so. I get very little time off unless hubby is in town. (He works offshore in the Gulf, 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off.) He doesn't allow me to work seven days a week when he's in! In fact, I try to work as little as possible then. Then I have my own house to run, a pool to tend to, two dogs and a cat who thinks she's a dog, a kid starting high school and a kid starting college. WHEW! But hey, we all have our craziness, though, don't we? Every day is a party! LOL
  4. If you really want and think you need another fill, most docs will consider "upping" the schedule a bit if you are truly adjusted to the first...just a thought. Good luck to you and let us know how it goes!
  5. Okay, I gotta ask: how was it to step on a golf course for the first time? Hubby has been trying to get me out there for years, without success. Now I want to, but I don't want to look completely foolish! (That might be unavoidable, though, huh? LOL)
  6. VERY common! Don't worry at all, since you are only dealing with the first fill. I didn't feel any difference within three days after my first fill at three weeks from surgery. The second fill was two and a half weeks later, and I felt a significant difference for quite a while. Now my third fill is this Thursday. I'm ready for it...sort of. I think I will REALLY have to slow down my eating after this one, as I have PB-ed several times after the second one with things getting stuck. Everyone's body/band/doctor does differently, though. Keep scheduling those fills if your doc allows. My doc doesn't seem to regulate them at all, from what I can tell.

The trail is also asphalt, but our heat index doesn't get much above 80 most of the time...with the exception of this past week being around 85-90. And we get that lake breeze Ahhhhh! We have BITTER winters, but BEAUTIFUL summers! It was a hotter day today, so I waited for sunset to ride; it's a cool 73 degrees out there I acutally prayed the other day for a mild winter...I told God "You and I BOTH know, if it's bitter outside, I'm NOT going to exercise!!" I giggled but it's probably true. I HATE exercise tapes! I'll probably be forced to join the Water jog class at the YMCA! AH, YES! I vaguely recall the weather you speak of. We were stationed in North Chicago many years ago and we lived in Kenosha during that stint. You lucky dog, when it comes to your summers! (You can KEEP your winters, though, girl! LOL) I do envy you your summers, for sure...today it was 104 with a heat index of 110...the heat steals the oxygen out of your lungs when you step outside! Terrible! It's pool time! LOL P.S. I hope today is a better day for you? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Monthly Total = 1230 Minutes 30 Minutes Bike...again, too hot to do much more....I thought I was going to PASS OUT!
  8. Monthly Total = 1200 Minutes 120 minutes biking
  9. GOOD FOR YOU, MM! That is an amazing distance! You are so much faster than I am! I don't think I could even BEGIN to keep up with you! Question: You went riding on the streets? How was it? Are your streets asphalt? (As opposed to brick or concrete, whatever...) I ask because our streets here are asphalt, and with the heat what it is, the asphalt just magnifies it horribly! So I haven't tried that yet. But I guess as fast as you go, you get quite a good breeze going! YOU ROCK!
  10. Monthly Total = 1080 Minutes 60 Minutes Elliptical this morning 60 Minutes on my bike this evening I like to have never gotten on the bike tonight, as I am exhausted! I'm almost finished with my current project house and am trying to get it ready to list for sale on Monday afternoon. So many little things added up to ten hours today, and it's not finished. Plus, with the heat at 102 and the heat index at 109...it was miserable outside. I'm glad most of my work was inside, but I'm still exhausted. It was all I could do to ride for an hour! Uh-oh...I'm whining. I hate whiners! All that said above, it really was a good, productive day. I hope everyone is having a glorious Saturday!
  11. WOW...so 1cc is what put you into he11, huh? That is rather scary. I'm glad you are doing better now.
  12. Monthly Total = 960 Minutes 60 Minutes Biking ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ja9va - I completely understand your joke! If someone had said three months ago that I would be excercising this much, I would have laughed them out of Texas! My bike is what is doing it for me...I love it!
  13. Monthly Total = 900 Minutes 60 minutes on my bike today
  14. I am so sorry to hear about your terrible experience! I'm glad you were able to find a doc who knew how to fix you up. How much was in your band before you went up to 7cc's?
  15. MM...glad to hear that hubby has crossed over to the losing side! I wish him a speedy recovery and smooth adjustment while losing all those pounds!

  18. Hey if you remind me, I will meet you there. I'm only five minutes from there and would love to see what the meeting has to offer.
  19. Great job with the pic! You are doing great! I need to take my cam to the park with me. Maybe you can tell me how to post inside comments?

  21. I didn't realize it was this week...not a bad idea. I'm rather in the same place you are as far as how you feel, except that I'm not ready for that third fill yet. Is the meeting always in Dallas? I thought sometimes it was in Hurst at Airport Freeway and Precinct Line in the hotel behind the police station? Or was that only the seminars? I have no idea! Let me know where it is?
  22. Monthly Total = 570 Minutes 90 Minutes on the bike trails (took the kids...they pooped out and we had to quit) 30 Minutes elliptical 60 Minutes swimming (ok...just why the $%*& is my weight going UP?!?!?)

  24. As active as you have gotten here in recent months, I bet you could handle it now. You amaze me with your level of activity! I definitely experienced some discomfort, though not my butt. Let's just say I'm going to buy a pair of bike shorts with the gel pads to wear under my shorts! (Nuff said.) I have a question for ya...what can you do about your hands going to sleep? It was cutting off the circulation to my hands by leaning on the handlebars for so long. Very bothersome. I'm going to see if raising my handlebars doesn't resolve both issues by sitting more upright.
