  1. I believe my doctor recommended waiting a year before trying to conceive, but I have read stories of people conceiving much sooner with no problems. I wonder what the reason for waiting a yr is?
  2. I wanted to hear from bandsters who have gotten pregnant. Will the band cause any problems? I can imagine one would have to have an unfill. Any info would be appreciated.
  3. I have an omelet with mozzarella cheese and covered in salsa almost every day. When I'm in a hurry, I cook an egg in my microwave egg mcmufffin maker. It is really quick and handy. They are sold at Walmart by the microwaves for like 3 bucks.
  4. I was banded 6-29-09. I was just telling my hubby yesterday how I had not felt my sugar drop since being on a low carb diet. I also have PCOS with insulin resistance. I think we are supposed to do a low carb diet anyways, banded or not. Before surgery I would have a bad crash around 3pm and get weak dizzy spells occasionally. I love my band.
  5. No, nothing has happened. I just had a cough and got paranoid. lol.
  6. What are the symptoms of slippage? I thought I read somewhere that coughing was one of them.
  7. Hey guys. Im going to Myrtle beach on the 27th and it will be the first day that I can start normal foods. What should I order at restaurants and what snacks should I bring along for the ride? All suggestions welcomed. My first trip to the ocean!!Yay!!:scared2:
  8. I just realized that I used to eat all the time, hungry or not. It is very different to know what hungry feels like. I eat when I'm hungry now and stick to the suggested portion sizes and surprisingly I am feeling pretty satisfied. I feel like I am being freed from the prison of food. I can love and enjoy food without being overindulgent and abusing it. Just wanted to share my little moment I was having.:scared2:
  9. Ok, at least I am not alone in wanting the pounds to melt away faster. I was banded 6-29-09 and have lost 13 lbs since then. It was 16 but since I have added pureed food 3 lbs have come back. Whatever! This bummed me out so much I almost wanna go back on liquids. (almost..lol.) My post-op appt. is the 23rd and I hope the Dr. will be pleased with my weight loss. I am so not ready for a fill. Surely he won't do one at 3 wks. post-op will he? If I have a choice, I want to wait a bit longer. Everyone can notice the weight I have lost so far, but I feel like everyone is watching me and waiting to see this HUGE difference right away. (myself included). I love this support group. Keeps me sane when no one around me can really understand what I am going through. Can't wait til Monday when I can start on soft food. What do you guys eat on soft food? Maybe I should've started a thread because I have like more than one question on here. Sorry for the rambling.:scared2:
  10. Thanks Amy, I thought it may have something to do with sleeping in different positions. I think I need to do some back strengthening excercises. I will definitely mention this to my doc when I follow up. Banded on 6-29-09
  11. Ever since surgery I cant get comfortable sitting. My back feels so uncomfortable like it has a catch. I dont know if it has anything to do with surgery but it is so annoying. I am constantly twisting and turning trying to find a way to sit. Driving is so bad too! Anyone else?
  12. I am allowed to drink right up until I eat, but then not for 30 min. after.
  13. I am definitely having the burping problem too, but sometimes it feels like I really need to burp but can't. Also getting random pains in my left shoulder just when I think that they are gone for good. My favorite thing to eat so far on this full liquid diet is fudgesicles and cream of potato soup(strained). I am still not able to get in all my protein or liquid that I am supposed to. Oh well, I'm doing my best. Haven't cheated at all, I'm too afraid to. I almost forgot today and took a bite of something. Luckily I remembered. I'm really scared about the vomiting everyone talks about. Also really nervous about the fills. I am having to face my fear of needles! I will just close my eyes and go to my happy place. Lord help me!
  14. lol JOJO! I was proud to have a BM this morning. I kept putting off taking anything because I just wanted it to happen on it's own. Today is my best day so far. I am able to do a lot more bending and squatting. I drove to church yesterday and was a little uncomfortable, but I am going to run some errands today. I have had some hard moments with the food, but am doing better with it than I thought. One week of full liquids left for me. I have a birthday party to go to tonight, so I will take my shake with me and deal with it. I am focusing on the big picture. Anyone can do something for 2 wks right? One day at a time everybody. Good luck to all!
  15. Oh, yeah. I also had a hiatal hernia repair. I dont know which incision is which. The incision to the left of my belly button makes my tummy look lopsided.lol. Anyone else?
