  1. Hey Jay, 38.2 pounds. Way to go. We must have just missed each other yesterday. My appt. was @ 1:30 and then I met with the Nutritionist. I was there till about 3:15. Anywho! I have to go back in 4 weeks. Lose 15 -20lbs, plan a damn sleep study. (I'm so nervous about that, don't sleep well and other places, but that's another story) Think I can request some ativan or just take a sleeping pill? LOL I also have to have the upper gi and meet with the head doc. I'm glad I got all your opinions on Dr. Robinson before I met him face to face.. LOL I went in expecting the worst and my B/P and heart rate were through the roof. He was actually nice, looked me in the eye and smiled! So, now I just need to book these appointments and I'm on my way! Do I have to lose the 15-20 lbs before I get a date scheduled, he is telling me it's about a 2 month wait as it is, so I'm looking at May or June, if he schedules me at my next appt. :cursing:
  2. Hey just wanted to post, I have my first consult with Dr. Robinson today! So excited and yet nervous. I was looking at pictures and other posts on this website last night. Very inspirational and also a bit emotional too. Have a great day everyone!
  3. That's great! I have my first consultation with Dr. Robinson tomorrow. There is a thread on here for just Brigham/Faulkner banders. If I do get this, I will be getting it at the Faulkner as they have private rooms.. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f42/brigham-women-faulker-hospital-56468/
  4. Oh my goodness, you guys crack me up. I'm glad I went to the meeting and put some faces to names. It was nice to meet you guys. Jay sorry you had to deal with that on the train! Heidi, great job on joining the gym. Only 4 more days till my first consult. Not nervous at all, thanks to all of you! Sandy )
  5. Who plans on attending the meeting tomorrow at the Brigham. I haven't decided yet, but I think it may be good for me, since I'm meeting Dr. Robinson next week for my first consultation. Do you have to pre-register or can you just show up? Thanks!
  6. Good luck Jay! Hope everything goes smoothly. Can't wait to hear how things went for you!
  7. Jay that's awful, I'm sorry! Are you able to go back to work and reschedule your vaca? Oh man, I can't even imagine! Hang in there, it will happen!!
  8. Jean, glad to hear your surgery went well and you are feeling pretty good! Jay, when is your surgery again? How are things going for you? Heidi, glad to see you lost 8lbs. Way to go! I'm still anxiously waiting my first appt. the end of this month. Hope everyone else is doing well )
  9. Thanks everyone, I just called and was able to get in with Dr. Robinson AND the nutritionist on Feb. 23rd. So excited and nervous about this. I won't be able to make the Jan. meeting, because I will be working 3-11 that day, however I will try to make the Feb. meeting. )
  10. Hey everyone. I just want to say that I "think" I've made the decision to pursue the band. Think meaning, I hope i don't talk myself out of it.. LOL I went to an info session in Nov. and called today to make an appt. with Dr. V and she is booked till April?!?!?! So then I called and tried to get an appt. with Dr. T.. (sorry so bad with last names) and she said she would have to call me back in the morning to give me an appt. ... Is this normal?? How long after the inital consult can I have my surgery? Granted everything is in order and goes smoothly. I don't want to wait 6 months, I may lose my nerve.. Sandy )
  11. Hi there, I'm from massachusettes as well. I'm 31 and have about 100lbs to lose, I just posted an introduction yesterday asking if anyone was from mass and having/had their procedure done at the Brigham. I went to their seminar and have thought about going to one of their meetings for those that have had the surgery. I'd like to know how things go for you. I'm seriously thinking about this but am just terrified, probably mostly of failure. ( Good luck! Sandy
  12. Hi there, I'm pretty new to this site. I have not gotten the band but am more in the research stage and even with all the info I have and read on this site, I'm still terrifed, so I guess that means I'm not ready? I've been to a seminar and wanted to know if anyone is or has gotten banded in Boston at Brigham and Womans Hospital? If I do get the lap band that is where I will be going. I'm hoping to connect with some people going through this in my area. Thanks!
  13. Hi, I'm in Ma and have the same insurance. I'm curious too. I just went to a seminar last night, still on the fence about the whole thing, which is why I'm on this site, to learn more. I would love to hear any info you may have. Do you have a doctor chosen yet?
