I like the thought of the exercise addictio/compulsion....LOL, I still like the trade off for sex too.........HMMMM what a toss up

I am trying to get away from the "clean your plate" mentality too and I think I am making progress but still can not say that I toss out any portion of my skinny cow ice cream bars. I hope that changes with my sleeve... GEEZ WHAT AM I SAYING DAHHHHH

One time on the other site I referred to the sleeve sisters as a family and I must say that you are all becoming much more like that than ever before. VegasAngel said the forum has been become her exchange addiction. I am one of the sleevers (going to be next week) that has chosen not to tell family or co workers about this surgery. I find myself wanting to talk about something so badly especially since it is such a big thing in my life and here is the only place I can talk about it. Its not often when I feel like I need such a voice and then to have things that I do say to be appreciated and found to be of value. Kudos to all of us and thank you for being here for me and the others like me.

Vangel and I have been counting the days for more than 6 weeks. We just cant wait. SOOOO Excited and yes, we will be keeping in touch and everyone here must do the same. I am so ready for this. I love this new site. I am going to the GNC today to get my liquid or powdered protein additive. I have already stocked up on sf jello, crystal light, broth etc. We are going to add some sunshine to this California June gloom.

I am getting my sleeve June 12th, anyone else set for June?

I took a pill that caused my stomach to swell and the band area got so tight it cut off circulation to a portion of my stomach. That portion (the anterior fundus) became negrotic and had to be removed. I had taken the pill before but this time it really irritated the lining of my upper pouch and that is what caused the problem. That is what I was told by the surgeon but I am sure someone else would gather another opinion. End result is the same either way.

I am one of those that is still paying for a band that I no longer have. I had a supposedly rare occurrence with my band that caused the removal but the end result is the same. I am getting a sleeve before I gain all of the weight back and totally waste the money I am still paying off. Even if the complication with my band was rare, none of us go into it thinking I will be the one that loses the band especially after only 6 months. It wasnt even a thought at that time I assure you or I may have thought twice....or again, maybe I wouldnt have. We wont ever know

I can totally understand that, I have been steadily gaining since I had my band removed too but had to wait 3 months before Dr Aceves would do another surgery. Thankfully I have only gained 3 lbs since my pre band removal weight. I just dont want to gain anymore. I would officially be wasting all the money I spent to get that stupid band in the first place. keeping 40 lbs off is really hard but gaining is wasting that 18 K that I paid at the rate of 500.00 per lb. OUCH!!!

I use the VA healthcare system and personally I think it is great in some areas and could use improvement in others. Overall, I am glad they are there. They actually saved my life with my band removal and I had the best nurses I could have asked for. They get few women vets, so that may have been part of it but even my sister who has never been in a VA hospital before was terribly impressed with the care I received. I do believe they try very hard but are overwhelmed by the number of patients and government regulations. I must give them KUDOS for the care I received. It was all free, even the drugs and aftercare. Remember the fallen vets....All gave some;some gave all

LOL I am counting too but its actually only 27 till we are there getting ready for it. And only 26 if we leave on a Wed. evening. I got my passport Tuesday!! WooHoo we are almost there.

I think that Renee said he would pick us up in Calexico also, I will have to call and check about that

UHC covers whatever your company decided to pay coverage for. I had UHC but my company didnt elect to pay for that WLS coverage. DAHHHH so I ended up private pay.

Tiffykins, My son in law is in Afganistan, He is due home in 2 month, my daughter is on pins and needles until July. He was able to come home for a mid tour leave but ended up coming to see me in the hospital in California when I had my emergency surgery. They are stationed in Illinois. I will keep him in my prayers.. Good luck future sleeve sister Ruthi ( a fellow vietnam veteran )

Donali, I had my band removed and a partial gastrectomy, I am getting the full sleeve Wassa I think of that part all the time, in fact, I am still paying them for making me puke and dont even have the blasted thing anymore Ruthi
