what do u think????? life or temporary?????
2flyguys, I think your smart to avoid junk food.I'm 6 months out and have slowly started to allow myself junk food again and it has been all bad! Moderation was never my strong suit so I cant stop when I get started so for me it's better not to even get started. It's funny because I too have a good friend who did RNY 2 weeks before me and she still eats the same as she did before surgery just much much less. And I'm over here trying to eat salad and fruit and be good and she's eating chicken taco's & Wendy's everyday and kicking my butt in the weightloss department.I've really had to remind myself why I did what I did.And tell myself this is my journey & my choices and she can do whatever she wants! It's hard though when you watch someone else when seems to be "getting away with eating bad" and your struggling!! But anyway I think your on the right track and doing great just listening to your body and do what feels right for you!!

Thanks for the heads up! Your right, sometimes it is slider foods but sometimes it's solid food too....So I think it's a combo of maybe needing a slight fill and also using some good old fashion restraint!! lol :tongue2:My doc has been very slow with my fills the last one I felt pretty good restriction at first and then lately I'm like wow I can eat that?? so I dont know if I lost some of myrestriction or I'm just pushing the limit's!! But thanks for the advice it really helps.......your doing a great job btw!!:frown:

Doctor Recommeded Against Lap Band
This is very interesting.I have a good friend who I went thru this whole process with.We did everything together and when we went to the surgeon's office(the same one) we each came out with 2 different recommendations! He recommended lapband for me & gastric RNY for her.She had surgery 2 weeks before me and has only lost maybe 15 more lbs than me.She cannot tolerate any sweets, she has trouble going to the bathroom regurlarly and she still can not eat very much. She has lost more weight but her skin is also sagging more.So I feel pretty good with my choice.Everyone has to do what is right for themself. It's a personal decision and they are both tools,it's all how you use it!!

6 months,60 lbs down & losing steam....
I'm 6 months out and have lost 60 lbs.I have 5.25 cc's in my band.Somedays I'm restricted and can eat normally other days I feel out of control and can eat WAY to much!! I feel like I'm losing steam and eating way to much stuff that I should not eat.Does it sound like I need a fill or just a swift kick in the butt?? I want to keep going but it's hard somedays...any advice??

Losing weight and breaking out?
Hey there I'm almost 6 months out & down over 60 lbs but my skin too has been bad since surgery,I read somewhere that it is your bodys way of flushing out toxins so make sure you drink tons of water that will help too!!small price for such a great outcome!!:rolleyes2:

Stomach flu & the band...
I'm about 5 1/2 months out from my band and just got over the stomach flu.Wow that was something terrible, let me tell you.My body wanted to vomit and was trying to vomit and nothing would come out? I'm assuming that's because whatever is in the bottom part of the stomach cant really fit back thru the stoma?? Wow was that painful!! On the plus side I couldn't & didn't want to eat for almost 2 days & I dropped a quick 5 lbs!! anyone else's experience's?? I would love to hear...and I def. know the diff. now between pb & actually vomitting!!

Hunger Pains
I have 2 kinds of hungry one that is a vague i'm bored I wanna snack hungry and a I'm starving, shaking and I feel sick kinda hungry..........I dont think I'm at my sweet spot yet because I cannot make 4 hrs w/o getting hungry.

What should restriction feel like??
Good4me,I personally just experienced getting tighter restriction after 2 weeks from my last fill. It's crazy it kinda snuck up on me! Dont get me wrong restriction is the name of the game but it surprised me. I'm hoping to see that scale moving again!!

Could everyone feel your port?
I could barely feel my port in the beginning too.I can now feel it very easily. So I think as you lose more weight it get's easier to feel.Dont worry unless the Doc tell's you that you have something to worry about!!

How much weight do you lose??
I know at my surgeon's office the nurse did tell me it could take up to 2 weeks to really feel the fill but this is my third fill and the first time that this has happened.I'm not complaining either!!

How much weight do you lose??
Ok this is so weird all of a sudden last night like 2 1/2 weeks after my last fill I got tighter restriction out of nowwhere? I was eating a bowl of cereal and I dont know if I ate too much or what but I was so over-full,uncomfortable & in so much pain.It was really bad. After that finally passed I wasn't even hungry the rest of the night.I figured I just over did it even though I never really experienced that quite so severe. But then this morning I'm trying to eat my yogurt that I always eat and halfway thru I'm like I have to stop eating this.......so I think maybe my fill is really starting to take effect?? that's great but it kinda scared me how it just came on all of a sudden! Thanks for the heads-up!!

"they" say I have lost enough weight..give me a break!
I pretty much experienced the same thing.....I had an overweight relative ask me if I was pretty much where I wanted to be?? and I thought "not hardly,I'm just getting started,I got another 40 to go!" I think it intimidates some people to see others suceed!! Do what's best for you,it's your body!!:welldoneclap:

Weight Watchers?
BgB9, No that plan sounds great,I wish my office had something that specific & detailed.I think I'll ask to meet with the nutritionist again.I tried to do weight watchers and found it hard to work the points and get enough protein. So whoever said alot of these diet plans are not complelety cohesive after WLS was right!:scared2: So I'm back to trying to eat all my protein and monitering portion size and smart choices....BTW I would kill to be losing 10 lbs a month that is awesome!!

How much weight do you lose??
Just had my third fill and I finally am feeling some restriction with 5 cc's in a 10 cc band. But what I'm wondering is what's an average weightloss per month for someone at a good level of restriction? Also is it better to"go for it" and get filled as quickly & as often as you can? or is it better to ride it out slowly & carefully, even if the weightloss is slower?? Hope this posts make's sense!!:tongue_smilie:I'm trying decide if I want more of a fill next time or if I should ride it out??

Can you FILL me, I need some help?
Hey there...when things get stuck for me or I pb it's usually because I'm eating too fast or I've gone too long in between eating and I'm scarfing and not chewing well enough.Chicken has not been my friend from the start I've always done better with ground beef. But since my last fill I've pb'd and thrown up crackers, bread & lunchmeat.......so I dont know if that helps at all but sometimes it varies from day to day........ I've really tried to slow down but it's hard.Sometimes I ca tell by the way the texture of something feels in my mouth whether it's going to go down or not and sometimes I just spit it out! Crazy!!:scared2:

Scared
Try not to be scared just keep positive and think of all the great things that are in store for you!! I'm almost 5 months out and loving my band!! I've lost almost 60 lbs and am feeling great. It hasn't always been the easiest journey but it is one that I would definitely take again. My family too was worried & had concerns but they have really come around.Sometimes we have to put ourselves first and do what is best for us!! Because we deserve to be happy too!! Keep your chin up and things are going to be just great, you'll see!!
