Ok I think I should get on the ball and start tracking my food intake again. Been so busy this week.:faint: Hubby and I built our own 12x40 redwood patio in the backyard,in 4 days! Point is I've been so busy I haven't been eating well at all.Lost 8 pounds in 4 days, that's how busy I've been.:omg: All 4 days I've eaten a 1/2 of a chicken hard shell taco at about 9 at night when we have stopped for the day.We finally finsihed the patio tonight,so tomorrow I start to eat again, nothing to keep me busy anymore.:nervous I have a good fill though and that's definaltely helping. This Saturday we are having a party for my son's birthday.I am looking so forward to that cake! :hungry: That's all I can think about..........................hey I deserve a little bit, don't I?:girl_hug:

To tell you the truth,I did think this band would be for a lifetime,at least that's what we are told at the orientation with the Dr.He probably forgot to mention,we will be paying to have new ones inserted every now and then through out our lifetime!
  8. lisanjason replied to a post in a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
They never mentioned I would get to pay less because it was only a kink, they just kept repeating "the Dr isn't charging you anything,it's the hospital that's charging you" Like that makes it any better.I felt that he should have took care of this fee. I too used everything I had to pay for this band. That's why I told them to cancel the repair.I had NOTHING at all to pay for it with.I'm already paying monthly payments for this band and probably will be paying on it forever,so when I told them I had no money they called me back and arranged a monthly payment plan, but even that just adds to payments I'm already making for the original surgery but there was no getting around it I guess. I hope you are one of the lucky ones that doesn't have a complication. Are you saying everyone does eventually? I wonder if I'll have more in my future? Scary thought.
  9. Sunta, I had the same thing happen to me after my first fill. When I went back 4 weeks later the Dr found my band was empty! I got a second fill and 4 weeks after that went back and I had .5 less.He thought for sure I had a slow leak,he filled me again and told me to watch my restriction level, which didn't last and I ended up going in for a repair this Tuesday.I went through the whole surgery and they found I didn't have a leak but the tubing was twisted and kinked and all the fluid was trapped in the kinked part of the tubing and not reaching the band. They fixed the kink and found 3.2cc in there! They put it all back in and now I have a good restriction.I just need to recover from this newly made port incision now,it's like starting from the beginning again, slowed down my walking that's for sure!

MickeyScott The Dr claims he's not charging me anything at all .............but that the "hospital is charging"I think this is how he gets around to charging for everything cause he also uses this excuse for fills, which states everywhere on his pre-op papers and website that "fills are free for life",when fill times come around he charges $95. each one....... for the "hospital's flouro" which he won't do any fills without flouro! Anyways,I went in for the repair on Tuesday went through the surgery again where they reopened my port incision scar, got to the port and found that the line was twisted and kinked tight. That is why everytime he was trying to withdrawal the fliud at fills,it was empty.the kink was causing a suction which tightened everytime he withdrew. They unkinked it repositioned it to a lower area and sutured it back in.I'm now recovering from another port incision.Once the line was unkinked, they found all the Fluid that was "lost",so I know have 3.2cc instead of the 2.2cc he thought I had.So I didn't have a leak.

Teresita, I've had this band for 3 months and each time I went for a fill,I had less fluid in the band.I think I got a defective band to begin with.I've always had my fills with Dr Kuri,so no one else has messed with my band but him.He doesn't know why there is less fluid all the time but says he thinks I must have a slow leak.He didn't tell me where he thought it was leaking from.I think that Inamed will reimburse him for the band or the port and give him another one (not 100% sure) but he says he's charging me the "hospital's fee" for replacing it.In my opinion,it's unfair that I have to pay to replace a defective band.I just paid $9k 3 months ago! As for eating,I am so stressed,I just don't want to eat,I'm afraid I'll gain back what I worked so hard to lose, but being stuck at this weight has me so discouraged too.:think I know I have to take in more calories,I'll work on that.Thanks.

  19. Medussa, What you are feeling is SO normal. You won't feel any restriction until you've had a FEW fills, not even the 1st one will make a difference in your restriction level.Unless you Dr is really aggressive and give big fills. My sister had her first fill yesterday and says she can still eat anything she wants, but of course she controls herself. This is the time when we have to use our will power.I know it's hard.I am now on my 3rd fill in 3 months and now know what restriction feels like and trust me pbing is not something to look foward too,it hurts, especially when you feel something stuck and it won't come out, you'll be in pain for hours. So enjoy your "not pging time"This band thing takes alot of patience, more that I've ever could have imagined but I hear it's worth it at the end.I'm still working on my own patience. My scale will no longer budge for some reason, even with a tight fill and walking 2 miles every evening.Good luck!

  21. Morsaille, I noticed on your signature line, you say you might have a leak. What makes you think so? Dr Kuri says I might have a slow leak also.Is this common or what? Sorry to get off the subject of the "tom" club.I haven't had that problem....yet.I just got my 3rd fill on Tuesday and I am so tight right now. This is the 1st time ever that I feel true restriction.I can only get liquids down, but the Dr is testing my restriction level for a week to see if I have a leak.Another thing "what is that non stop gurgling" constantly coming from my throat??!! Anyone else have that after a fill and how long does this last?
  22. I just had my 3rd fill on Tuesday and mine is tight too! What is this gurgling sound that keeps coming out of my throat!!?? Weird! If you read my signature line you can read the latest news on me.Dr thinks I have a slow leak.I need to watch my restrction level for a week ,let him know if any changes, then go from there. For now all I can get down is creamy soup broth and spaghetti sauce but that's it,no solids yet,oh yeah and chips go down too...go figure!

  24. I don't.I'm usually hungry at the time it happens and I'm eating too fast.I usually let it finish then I will go back and eat alot slower. It's happened twice to me so far.
