Tummy Tuck costs in San Diego or nearby???
Darla, I had a full body lift in December from Dr Soberanes in TJ,Mexico. His charge was $9000.00.I'm pretty sure a Tummy tuck alone is alot cheaper than that and he does an awesome job.I met ALOT of people that have went to him and are VERY satisfied with his work. His website is www.drsergiosoberanes.com. His phone number is 1(619)270-2138

Feb 2006 Bandsters: 1 Year Check-up!!
I'm coming up on my 1 year bandiversary on Feb 20th.So much has happened since then.I was able to lose 115 pounds within 7 months.I worked my butt off to get to that goal.I then went on to have a tummy tuck and breast lift with implants in October.I then 5 weeks later had a lower body lift to revise and correct a botched tummy tuck! Since the full lower body lift in December I've lost another 15 lbs.I am now at goal weight of 125 lbs as of Jan 25th.I went from an initial size 28/30 pants and a size 4x blouses @ 255 lbs to a current size 1 pants and a size medium blouse.I am loving the new me.I am so happy with my new bod!I have a hard time recognizing myself in a mirror sometimes,It brings me to tears to realize how far I've come. EVERYTHING physical in life is so much more comfortable in this size body.I can't explain the way I feel but to say I have no regrets of getting banded and would do it again in a heart beat.I love what it has done for me and how it has changed my life,as well as my family's life, having a "new" Mom and Wife.I wish everyone knew about the band or would be willing to give it a chance instead of opting for more drastic procedures.I referred my sister to Dr Kuri in TJ,who did my band and she was banded in April, she has lost 85 lbs so far. I WISH EVERYONE LUCK AT REACHING YOUR GOAL & I WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY FIRST YEAR BANDIVERSARY!! PS having trouble posting pics,if anyone willing to post them for me via personal email, please let me know. Thanks!

Lower BMI Bandsters!
Being at goal is actually very new to me,I've only been at goal a few days, but I've already learned,as I got closer to my goal weight that being here at goal is no easier than trying to lose the weight.I still struggle to keep myself from eating certain things and I still have cravings for things I shouldn't have. Now instead of "trying" so hard to get here,I'm "trying" HARDER to stay here.By me saying I'm trying harder it's because now that I'm a thin person I kind of find myself giving myself a little (lot) more slack than I would have when I was trying my hardest to get here, which is what got us all here in the first place. It's pretty scary. Our bodies have a tendency to be overweight so I assume I can go right back to being that way pretty easily.I need to get back that strong will power I had all these months...................which is why I'm here.I need encouragement now too.I was so strong willed all these months but now I need a kick in the butt!!:help:

Lower Body Lift Fun!
Puddin I was given a compression a garment to wear, the day after my surgery and was told in 2 weeks I had to buy a tighter one and an even tighter one a few weeks after that. It's a compression garment that minimizes the swelling and helps the skin to re-adhere back to the muscle. You can read more about it on makemeheal.com look under compression garments, then under tummy tuck, even though we had more done than just a tummy tuck, same concept I guess.Don't you feel pain when you walk and your skin moves against the muscle? I had really sharp pains the first few weeks when I moved to much and when I got a tighter garment,it felt much better. Congrats on fitting in the size 10's!! It's going to get even better, you'll see AND you'll keep your curves too! Like I said,I am now able to squeeze myself in a size 1 but I'm not a straight flat shaped size 1 like the pants look when you take them off the rack.I have hips and butt, just a flat stomach! I love it!! hehehehehehe! PS Is there anyone I can email my before and after pics too and they can post them for me? Is that even possible?

Lower Body Lift Fun!
Karey, I'm computer stupid and don't know how to post pictures.Believe me I've tried over and over again! I wish I knew how. Puddin, I said the same thing about fitting myself into a size 5! I thought this would be the tiniest I could possibly get into but to my surprise the swelling is going down and my waist is shrinking.I'm totally amazed, this was totally unexpected. As for walking over hunched. My Dr told me I had to walk straight up "like a soldier" so a day at a time I tried to straighten myself up little by little.I had the drains in for 1 week.BUT I've had extra Fluid build up that poured out of an open area on my hip for 5 weeks,(which is normal)this is actually the first week I'm finally not draining fluid! The swelling will take weeks to go down and you'll especially see it in the evening.Keep your garment on 24/7 except while showering of course.I don't know exactly how long we are supposed to wear this garment but I'm told the longer we wear it the better the results ,how ever long that is!! I'm ready to rip this thing to shreds!

Lower Body Lift Fun!
Hey Puddin, Congrats on your lower body lift.I'm 6 weeks post op from mine.I know exactly what you mean about it being amazing! No more cellulite on my thighs either, what so ever!! It's crazy! I love it.I went from a size 9 when I went in 6 weeks ago and fit in a size 5 for a few weeks after ,then today (after most of the swelling is gone) I fit in a size 1 jeans! I am so amazed!! I love my results.I got my boobs done too at the same time. So now I'm small with big boobs! I don't even recognize myself in the mirror.Anyways, enough about me.I know you're going to love your results even more everyday! Did you go to Mexico for your LBL? I went to Dr Soberanes in TJ. I love him!! Have fun with your new bod! Don't worry about your EX,he's going to regret his decision when he sees you in a few weeks! Oh yeah,I was going to ask you about you saying that you are walking hunched over.I was told by my surgeon that a LBL requires you to stand as straight up as possible unlike just a tummy tuck where you need to be hunched over. quote=puddin;370185]Thanks hun, but I think I have like 10 pounds of Fluid in me still. I haven't weighed myself since the surgery. Hey, that'd be a good thing to do today! I still have 10 pounds to go, and will probably still go for 150. I really, really want to be able to be the best at the sports I'm into, and I think at 150, that'll be the optimal weight for that. I'm going to get all sentimental on you because I'm on drugs, but I was on the outside looking in just over a year ago. Just over a year ago, I hadn't been on a date in 10 years!!!! I had no hope for my goals in life - to be married and have a fun family. I was a happy person, but hated being fat! When I got the band, it gave me hope that I COULD lose the weight. The first 6 months, however, I think I only lost like 35 or 40 pounds. I had 2 months of total plateau. Talk about discouragement! But then I just decided to get my ass off the couch and stop complaining about it! I haven't looked back since. Lots of people ask me what my 'secret' is. There's been no real secret. It's been excercising my butt off every second I can and watching every thing that goes into my mouth. I can still eat about 1.5 cups of food at a time. A lot of my motivation comes from wearing a Body Bugg on my arm, that calculates how many calories I'm burning. I just set a daily 'deficit' goal and make SURE I hit that sucker no matter what each day. I'm losing faster now than I ever have (well, not now that I had the surgery, but the months prior). I suppose the other motivation has been men. They are my complete weakness. I LOVE good looking men, and I just had to transform myself to get there. However, this has also caused some new heartache in my life. Want a good looking man? Better expect a little bit of shallowness to them. Not always, though! There are two good looking men I'm sort of dating right now that don't seem all that shallow (I say 'sort of' because I'm not full-on dating again until I'm completely over another big breakup. These two men know that and are respecting that. No makeouts for at least a month!). But single ladies, there's HOPE! Oh MY IS THERE HOPE! And I think this, combined with the boob job I'm getting in March will give me that total confidence again. My ex knocked a lot of the confidence out of me, but I'll get it back! And this lower body lift is an amazing thing. I had no idea that I looked 'normal' when naked until I got this thing. I look NORMAL NAKED! Well, and normal dressed, too LOL. But naked's what counts... jk. I'm rambling, rambling, rambling... I'm blaming this on the drugs! Today's update: The abdominal pain is gone! Mostly it's back pain from having to walk hunched over. I look like the evolution of man progression at the ape stage. Other than that, no pain! The drains are a pain in the ass, but also not a huge deal. They're coming out Monday. So that's today's update and ramblings and shenanigans and goings on. Again, I blame this post on the residual drugs.

Apron Removal
A full lower body lift in TJ with Dr Soberanes costs $9000.He goes in a complete circle around your waist and back area,he shapes lower in areas that the incision can be beautifully hidden in nice pair of underwear. He lifts everything from the outer, front and back of your thighs, butt, back, tummy, groin.Of course the tummy and back area are also pulled down at the same time as the rest is lifted up.I'm left with a baby smooth butt and thighs. Not one trace of cellulite! It's crazy! I love it! I went in wearing a size 11 and some 9's and now I'm in a size 5! I'll be in some sexy underwear as soon as all of my incisions heal! I will finally have my dream come true and be able to pierce my belly button this summer too, this has been my dream since I was a jealous teenager who watched and envied over women that had beautiful tummies with nice shiny belly rings.I hated them!! LOL!! Now I get the jealous envious looks. It feels SO WEIRD!:heh:

Apron Removal
Bostongurl, I noticed my apron right after having my first baby,at 17 yrs old.The skin there never tightened no matter how much wieight I ever lost. You probably would have noticed if you were going to having hanging skin by now.I lost the weight really fast with my band so my skin deflated big time, everywhere including my boobs. This had never happened to me before so I knew there was no hope.I had to have a full body lift and boob lift with implants.I'm 2 weeks post op from those procedures.but I'm so happy I was banded!!

February 2006 bandsters unite!!
I've lost 126 lbs as of today. My goal is to be 125 pounds.I have 4 pounds to go and it's been less than 10 months! I've recently had a Tummy tuck (gone bad) with one Dr and recently had a revision to a full lower body lift with another Dr. so I am now very happy with my results and I now feel and look like a totally different person.I am a normal size person now!! Well maybe a little smaller than a normal size person but hey,I can handle that. LOL!! I am so happy my life took this route and so is my husband and kids.Who knows how big I would be by now if I was never banded!

tummy tuck
Telly, I don't know how to update my ticker! hehehehehe .I'm 147 today. I'm about 20 pounds from my goal but It's all skin.I see and feel my bones everywhere and when I lay down my stomach and everything (including my boobs)gets flat! Pretty gross.Skin just spreads everywhere! So I know it's all skin now, some fat but mostly skin. Hey I have a question for you,The facilitator told me that they have alot of Dr Kuri Pts that come to them and that they consult with Dr Kuri about port positioning if needed.Well since everything is moving so fast I thought I would call Kuri's office, just to double check cause I have so many thoughts spinning in my head anyways Dr Kuri's office said they don't refer any of thier Pts to Dr Romero.I am so confused.Do you feel he is a good trusting Dr and would you go back to him for more procedures? The Kuri group suggests Dr Sombranes, but the way they keep pushing his name ever since the lap band procedure was done it seems to me like someone is getting commision or something.I just want someone to do a good job.I worked really hard to get to where I'm at now and I just want to have everything turn out good.I want to have no regrets.HELP!!!

tummy tuck
Telly You've motivated me AGAIN!!! I'm scheduled for a tummy tuck and breast lift with implants on Monday with Dr Romero!! I am so nervous.I wish I could talk to you personally.I am scared actually.I just called for a simple consultation and I am told that they do the consultation in the morning and if I agree to everything the surgery will be the same day! I'm so nervous I can't breath! hehehehehehehe

Considering banding in Tijuana
I was banded by Dr Kuri in Tijuana.I have absolutely no regrets and have referred family and friends to him.My sister was banded by him in April.I go back monthly for fills and even then everything goes smoothly. He has done so many bands and is well known, and highly experienced.Just look up "lap band in Mexico"and you'll see his name everywhere.Good luck in making your choice.

how can so little amount of food - help you lose?
I've kept my banding a secret from people at work too, they do question how I've lost the weight and question what I eat on this "diet" I tell them the truth..................no bread,no Pasta,no sugar,no fast food.............except maybe a hard shell shredded beef taco:heh: and I told them I only eat enough to take away the hunger but not enough to get that full feeling....................being why I eat so much less than before:lie: I just didn't want to have the pressure of everyone knowing I had surgery to lose the weight,in case the band didn't work for me.I didn't need them watching me fail, again.Fast forward to 7 months later,I can't change my story now!:heh: Point is,I can still eat out if I wanted to,I just make better menu choices and I always need a box to take the left over home.In fact my husband and I went to a Mexican buffet yesterday afternoon,I chose to eat meat and some Beans.I was done after a few bites. The cost is a little high for just those 2 things but I'm still able to be good company for my husband while he enjoys his lunch. About the Protein shakes.I took them for a while, while I was on the Liver shrinking diet and on the liquid diet post op,then I read that they actually make you gain weight after a while. The body doesn't work to metabolize this liquid so it goes straight through, sugar and all. Congrats on your surgery date.Don't worry it was just a dream..............but I wouldn't answer the phone if I were you! LOL!!!!

How much weight did you lose the first month?
I was down 26 lbs 4 weeks post op.I was told about the "healing period" but after the surgery.I ran with it,I did everything I could to lose weight.I didn't want to waste that whole 6 weeks "healing"

TT vs Body Lift
Newsho, Can you give me some info about where to start the process of having ins pay for procedures.I haven't started to see any Dr's for any "problems" with skin or back pain but would be willing to start to get ins to pay.Just have no idea where to go first.I have about 40 more pounds to get to goal but figure this fighting ins will take some time, right? If you would like you can email me privately................Thanks!

Exercise Today
Hey that's what I use my treadmill for! I thought it WAS for hanging clothes on! LOL! So I guess I should get use out of the bowflex since I need to START on resistance training.I've mostly done only walking so I need to start building muscle tone everywhere else that walking doesn't touch.wheeeeeew............tired just thinking about it!
-
Exercise Today
Has anyone ever tried the bowflex? I've walked 2 miles almost every evening since surgery which seemed to work really well for me but for some reason my weight loss has now stalled.I even tried adding jogging and riding the bike with my 2 yr old in the baby trailer to burn more calories but I'm still the same weight everyday!I know I am burning more calories than I eat,so I don't understand what the problem is. My husband ordered the bowflex the other night and I'm just wondering if anyone has used one or if they are even worth the money? I have about 40 pounds to get to goal and I'm so frustrated right now.I was going to finally join a gym because of the weight stall but now that the bowflex is coming I won't have to join one.Someone let me know what you think. Thanks!

I have a kink
Dewok, I had a kink! I was banded in Feb and after my first fill the Dr couldn't find any saline in my band.I had a second fill at that time and went home, I went back a month later, there was less saline than he had put in the last time,I then had a 3rd fill and worried I for over a month that I had a leak.I did have flouro each time and it never showed a leak or the kink. After the 3rd fill I still felt no restriction and that's when the Dr did a regular xray, and there it was as plain as could be! A twist and a kink.None of the saline was in the band,it was in this twisted part of the line.I underwent surgery again a few days later where they unkinked it,repositioned the tubing lower, tighter so not to kink agagin, sutured it back in and found that my band and port where still in perfect condition so didn't need replacing and they also found a total of 3.2 saline, which they left in and I finally had a perfect restriction. It's now been almost 2 1/2 months and I'll be going in for a small fill this Friday.I have about 40 pounds to get to goal and it just won't budge, hoping this fill is what I need to jump start the loss again. Good luck!

I paid to be tortured
OMG that was SO funny!!!! Too early to be laughing this hard.I think I'll go take a nap now !!!!!!!

Who is having success with their Band?
I've had 1 complication so far, about a month after banding ,my line twisted and kinked shut so my fills were not getting to the band.So after 3 fills I never felt restricted. After an xray was done the problem was found and I had another surgery to get that fixed.I still have never had any regrets on getting banded.I've been banded a little over 5 months and have lost 83 pounds so far! I am so excited.I went from a skin tight size 28 shorts to a recent size 16! I am loving this band.I was never able to lose this much weight, ever. At first I wanted gastric bypass because of the fast results but I decided to get banded and just take it as it came,as it turned out thinking about the fast gastric loss and having the band instead has really motivated me to work harder and get the weight off sooner.I have about 40-50 more pounds to go and these last pounds are proving to be a challenge,my body just won't let go anymore for some reason! One day I'll get to goal.I know it!I love being banded and would..... and have recommended it to anyone who can benefit from one.My sister had hers done in April and has lost 40 pounds so far.

February 2006 bandsters unite!!
I was told from the beginning that I should keep up with fills, every 4 weeks until I was at a good level.I took that advise and I'm at my 3rd fill which is were I've stopped..........for now. It's been a good one so far and has felt so different from the rest of the fills.By the way I'm another Feb 20th person
