  1. Aww! He's a very pretty kitty, I think. He'll adjust sooner or later, I think, as long as you don't rush him.
  2. Yep, found that out the hard way. :phanvan
  3. anonemouse replied to anonemouse's topic in Rants & Raves
    Nope, just the topics. :phanvan
  4. What really disturbs me is that there is over 16% of the people that voted that think there is nothing wrong with saying it. Ick.
  5. At the Lenovo website, you can get a ThinkPad R61e, customized with XP and with 1 year of on-site support for under $800.
  6. Actually, she was the one being accused of anti-semitism, so I think she was just trying to figure out what part of her post was supposed to be anti-semitic.
  7. It really depends on your surgeon. Some docs let their patients have caffeine, others don't. There's no real hard and fast rule about it. I really think the basis behind it is that it can dehydrate you. I mean, I noticed lately (after I had been drinking more coffee and tea than plain water) that I got very dehydrated, to the point of having extremely salty saliva. The only thing that made it better was to really increase my water intake. I think you'd be fine, though, if you do like you said and made sure that you drank twice as much water as caffeinated drinks.
  8. This is a very cute website, devoted to cats that live in stores and shops. Welcome to Shopcat.com
  9. I'm assuming that you want to post in the Suggestions, Feedback, and Questions forum, to have them reset your password or something. Here is where the button is located in Rants and Raves. It's in the same location in the other forums.
  10. It's at the top and bottom of the left-hand side of the page.
  11. Interesting article: Toxic gas pervasive in FEMA units, tests show - Life - MSNBC.com
  12. Go to the forum you want to post in and click "new thread." A page will come up where you can enter the title of the post and the body of it, and when you are finished typing, just click on the "submit" button.
  13. You can say the same about Christianity, too. But I distinctly remember getting chastised on the board for saying that.
  14. If you don't make it, you'll be darn close. We'll all be rooting for you, though!
  15. I can pretty much tell you what your endo will do. He/she will put you on birth control to control the hormones and clear your skin, and put you on metformin/glucophage to control insulin resistance. Oh, and they'll tell you to stay away from refined carbs (sugar, white flour, etc.) and very starchy veggies (white potatos, etc.). And of course, they will give you the ever-popular "lose weight" lecture, since that's basically the only cure for PCOS. There's not much they can do to control hair growth in weird places, unfortunately, unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars a month on methods that aren't guaranteed to work (see the Vaniqa thread in Rants and Raves).
  16. 1. The section of the stomach below the lapband remains in perfect working order. It isn't affected by the band at all. 2. That just depends on you and the elasticity of your skin. From what I've seen, it varies from person to person. Some people get away without needing PS, other people need it badly. 3. The beauty of the lap-band is that you can still indulge yourself every once in a while. If you have a giant craving for cake or chocolate, you can have cake or chocolate.
  17. I never had confirmed cysts. They just did blood work on me and decided that I had PCOS from my hormone levels, along with my appearance and the fact that the only reason I had gone to the gyno was because I hadn't had a period in 3 months. I never had a pelvic ultrasound or anything, and I was too heavy for them to get a good feel of my ovaries.
  18. Well, I'll definitely have my fingers crossed for you, hoping that it does the trick. This is SO much easier to do when you have decent restriction.
  19. Oh yeah, very true! I'm glad for that every day! I lost about 11 or so pounds pretty quickly after surgery, and then gained several of those back when I went back on real food. I didn't start losing again until I got decent restriction with my 2nd and 3rd fills.
  20. Hi! I have PCOS. I was banded on July 3rd, and as you can see, I've lost a little less than 30 pounds so far. It's a little bit slow going, but it is coming off!
  21. Yep, I'm thinking about dragging her along to my PS, if I have any. And many of the people you listed are definitely at the top of my list to meet.
  22. You have posted that you are scared of black men, that you didn't want them to get too close to you, though, just because they are black. And that was only 4/5 days ago. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f80/what-your-favorite-but-hated-stereotypes-44506/index2.html#post616477
  23. WASa, you should check out the Lenovo (formerly IBM) site. Their laptops are decently priced, and you can get them with XP.
  24. Thank you, Diva!:sleep That story of yours makes me sick. I can't believe people act that way. I remember reading a post on another forum several weeks ago by a woman who was in a parking lot. She'd used her remote to open the door of her van, which made a beeping noise or something while it opened. A 5 year old was walking into the store and asked her father what the noise was. The woman answered her automatically, and the child said, "I wasn't speaking to you, n____!" That made me feel so sick for the woman, and so PISSED at the child and her father.
