Ha lol ya thanks... I need to remember that she is my mom... how would I feel if my daughter was going in for surgery. (My daughter is 3 though).

I think in a way my mother is jealous also. We are both overweight and have done weight watchers together. she lost 20 and then gained it all back... i lost 60... i think she is concerned also that her daughter is having a surgery... and also she is just negative. she is never happy about anything that i do unless she can brag to someone about it. when i got my AA she was SO HAPPY! but anything else that is good i dont even want to share it with her because she always answers with pursed lips and eyebrows raised and a shrug. i am glad that i got the courage to tell her not to come to my last appt and i wish i could tell her not to go to surgery but there is no way. well i am glad i am not alone in this!

Help! My mother is driving me nuts. I was going to bring her to my last appt with the surgeon but I cant trust her to keep her mouth shut and to be positive. I told her she can only come if she is positive support so she said well she will REALLY need to prep for that...and so I told her dont even come. So frustrating. She embarressed me at the seminar back in October. Now she wants to go to the Mandatory Pre Operative Question class. Its a group class and my boyfriend will be there too for support. I hope she can control herself.. anyone else have this problem?

Cool thanks! So i got my surgery date.... february 25th. my sponsor wants me to get my prescription early if possible and she will fill it for me and hold it for me. I am to get Darvocets if possible because I love me some viccoden... and then motrin. She wants to be in complete control of the meds so I am not stressing or questioning or mind effing myself on them...

RHC thanks! I have been trying since April of last year. HMO kept denying me so in November at open enrollment I switched to PPO and it has just happened. Any idea what insurance you will be switching too? Whatever you do... choose PPO... or go to Mexico... no pre op testing crap. you are in and you are out. Dr. Kuri is supposed to be excellent and he adds all over this website. A woman that I met on here got it done my him and she said it was awesome plus you get weekend in a hotel and room service.... so if insurance doesnt work you could always go that route.

GUESS WHAT!!!!!???? I got approved!!!! <- I have been DYING to use that smily face!!!!! and now i can! that is exactly how i feel right now!!!!!! The surgeon will call me later today or tomorrow to schedule the surgery date. WOO HOO!!!!!

OMG that is terrible. My doctors office suggested that I used the surgical loan. Fortunately open enrollement came around and I switched insurances last November. I had been getting declined since last April. I am waiting on authorization right now. I have talked to several people on here that have used Dr. Kuri in Mexico. For $7500 you get the surgery and several nights stay in a fabulous hotel in Mexico. One woman whom I still talk to swears by it and she said you just make a phone call and go down there and do it. She said even if she had insurance she would not use it becuase of all the hoops we have to jump through and the waiting. But to each her own. Good luck and I am so sorry that totally sucks.

I would not tell them. I only told my boss and my boyfriend who works with me. No one is a mind reader so they wont know. Just tell them that you are sick. I am telling people that I am just taking a few days off. As far as the weight loss goes I have been telling people that I kicking my butt back into weight loss gear in February. I am eating what I want until then - and then I am getting serious about it.

Thanks! When were you banded? I am going through insurance so it will be at St. Johns. I am waiting on authorization right now. Nancy called me on Saturday and asked me to fax her my psyche eval and then Becky called me on Monday and said my authorization is in the works. She scheduled me my last appointment before surgery with Dr. Billy next friday. I am dying while waiting for authorization! Where do you live? Do you still attend support groups? I need to go to one. I live in Simi Valley. What is your name?

Thanks I am dying with anticipation. I have been trying since last April and finally switched to a PPO in November. Since then its been smooth sailing so I hope it gets approved!!!!!

Hi I have a PPO and am wondering how much each fill will cost me? Anyone know? I know if you pay cash they are free for life but does anyone with insurance know?

Ok so my final appointment with the surgeon has been scheduled. It is friday, February 6th. I am excited. The authorization is still in process but they must feel pretty confident if they are to schedule me the last appointment right? God I hope it goes through!
