Checking in and updating journal
Welp, I just finished Massage Therapy & Entero Lavage Therapy school and I'm all spent. Now I have to play "catch up" with my work load and get back into the groove of things as I prepare for the State Boards. I worked out religiously most of my time in school with the exception of the last 3 weeks, where truthfully I have been in the gym, maybe 3 times. Tomorrow is back to the workout grind so that I can get my pump back.

Central Florida Lapbandsters?
Hey Celestemcnair, You don't live that far from me, say bout 20 minutes. I am banded and I had Dr. Rumbaut do my surgery. I will forever be in awe of that man. I stumbled onto him but I was lucky. Ask anyone and they have nothing but good things to say about him. BTW, did you know he had Lapband surgery too? He was 255lbs...now 150 I think. Monterrey is really beautiful and the hospital, San Jose is very very clean. Better than any US hospital I have ever seen. The staff is more than accommadating and the size of your room is like a mini apartment. Insane! I'm over a year out, about 1 year and 1 month. I've dropped a significant amount of weight since the surgery, through diet, exercise and some restriction, about 106lbs. I have 4lbs to go. I don't know if you know but in September of this year, Dr. Rumbaut is having a lap-banded patient party. It will be in Texas. Again Congrats on your upcoming banding. I wish you much success in your weightloss goals. You've already chosen one of the greatest doctors, I'm sure you'll continue to make the right decisions after banding. One thing though... This is a great site for new bandsters, however, please pick and choose your information carefully. Sometimes there is just "too much info" and it can be overwhelming. There is good and bad when referring to the band. There are alot of successful folks on here, as well as folks that have had their band removed. Read thoroughly through the stories and try to understand that everyone is different. Every pace of weightloss is different. Some lose slower, some lose faster, some can't handle the restriction, some can, some are too tight, some are not tight enough, some ....the band didn't help them b/c they realized that they need headwork. Some find it the fault of the band that they can't lose and can't seem to fathom that the pint of ice cream they had the night before had anything to do with the slow weight loss... So just a good word of advice, read carefully, research, pick and choose what you want to use as "useful info". Good luck!

BTW this was not an article I wrote. It was an article I put to the test. A self-experiment. ‘How to Lose 22lbs or 10kgs in 28 Days Without Starving or Training Like an Olympic Athlete!' By Stephen Smith BSc

The gym I go to (Gold's Gym) has an electronic hand held fat% calculator. It takes in information about your measurements, your height, weight, waist size....etc. It is programmed into the handheld and then you have to hold it and squeeze it. Your % is then calculated. Other than that I am not sure.- slipped band
LOL, me too. I will just follow in on this discussion and remain silent until I come to a spontaneous combustion of sorts.- You want maximum results? Look here....
Thank you ladies! Betsy, I lied about exercising everyday... really I do some form of cardio/weight loss exercise at least 6 days per week. You do need to rest, especially if you are weight training. In order for the muscle to form and develop, you must train it and then allow good recovery time such as 1-2 days, so that the torn tissue can recooperate. My weight stalled for about 2 months which, after taking my bodyfat% (at the same weight for 2 months), according to my inches lost, waist size and pants size, it was determined that though my weight did not change, my body did, meaning I was filling fat space with muscle. I started to build muscle. My bodyfat% last time I checked was in the low 20% but I will want to see what the % is now to determine how many pounds of muscle I have built, based on my previous stats. I don't look at the scale like I used to. I weigh in once per month now and my weight dips 2-3lbs max. At this point, I am happy with where I am and my ultimate goal is no longer what's on the scale, my goal is optimum fitness.- You want maximum results? Look here....
I don't think I've posted my progression pictures in this thread. I have been exercising since the day after surgery. This post ...has been my guide in my body transformation. I had a tummy tuck at around 20lbs from goal weight back in October of 2006 for those who are not aware.- Lower Body Lift Fun!
It was Dr. Romero out of Tijuana. I would recommend him. Some others may not but it's based on my interview with him and his staff. Of course the pricing was my initial eye catcher, which I shouldn't be soo cheap about things but he did a great job and I'm happy with the results. I will be using him in a few months to do my Breast Augmentation, Butt Lift/Enhancement and lipo in one more section. If you want specific information just send me a PM-private msg. and I will give you his name and number and website. My TT with lipo cost me $3,800.00usd. He removed 9lbs of excess skin and about 3lbs of fat through lipo.- Obsessive Exercising and Weighing
Hahaha, you're a mess Jachut! I'm dying. Yes I can see why a man would leave me for telling him how many calories I am eating or they are eating in each meal. Thank god that isn't me.- Obsessive Exercising and Weighing
I see nothing wrong or obsessive with working out 6 days per week. It has kept the weight off and has kept my body well toned. I see nothing wrong or obsessive with counting calories. It has kept the weight off. I find both of the above to be in the Telly "norm". I find that just going to the gym whenever ....without a plan or an agenda or eating whatever I want without a care for how many calories i put into my body or how much fat.....is not right and is not a "Telly Normal thing to do" Everyone is different. Don't label me or my new found love for taking care of my body as being obsessive. Don't judge me or anyone else for wanting to maintain what we've accomplished thus far.- Lower Body Lift Fun!
I had it done in Mexico yes and the facility was a mini private hospital. It had the surgery prep room, surgery room, recovery room. It was nice, not Monterrey nice but nice, nonetheless. The staff was phenomenal though. To answer someone else's question, I had the full TT with the stitch and lipo around my waistline. I had to take 4 weeks to recover, meaning, no exercise but I went against the doctors orders and started working out week 2 which I shouldn't have. I kinda hurt myself. Everything is good now though. Total recovery time is 6 - 12 months post operatively. Meaning, that is how long it may take for the swelling to go completely down.- Lower Body Lift Fun!
Yipes I missed the question, my bad. I am doing the 6 day split. Monday - Saturday Weight training and I'm no longer doing muscle groups. I am currently on the "upper body v/s lower body" groove now. I got bored with the "arms" one day and "quads and calves" the next day. I haven't biked in a month-ish so I plan on doing that Sunday - hitting up the 31.5 mile route. I do cardio 4-5 days per week at 45minutes to 1.5 hours. What are you doing? I hope you are allowing your body to recover and not going crazy in the gym. At least, that's what I was yelled for, working out fewer than 6 weeks post op.- it's been a very long time ...
Congrats on your promotion. Seems as though many doors have opened up. That's a great thing.- Hi
Awwww, I hope you feel better. - New pics of me
