  2. im not sure my nurses will be very friendly (military hospital lol) but im hoping theyll be nice and put me at ease. *hugs* thanks for your comment. ill update tomorrow if i can or the day after tomorrow, when i come home.
  3. well, its official! im being banded tomorrow morning. ill be excited once its over im sure, but right now im a huge bundle of nerves and im scared to death! what if i have some sort of undiagnosed heart problem and something happens during anesthesia?:cursing: is it normal to feel like this? i definitely dont have doubts about getting my band but the surgery itself scares me. :rolleyes2:

tired. sleeping like shit. cant really get comfortable. easily annoyed by pretty much everything. animals making me crazy. stressed. i feel like my life has been turned upside down by this whole thing. i didnt realize i was going to be so stressed out by it. i cant focus on anything lately. i can barely think, probably due to the lack of carbohydrates. ive been forgetting protein shakes. i missed one yesterday...and one today but ill play catch-up for todays shake. 5 days left. im nervous and having second thoughts but thats pretty normal before surgery or so im told. i just feel like crap. also, i want food. *grumps*

  7. i like the gummy vitamins. it feels like i get 2 pieces of candy everyday instead of having to avoid candy.
  8. my pre-op diet is going well. booooring but the results are good. according to my scale, ive lost 14 pounds. according to my doctors scale, ive lost between 5 and 7. whatever. their scale isnt calibrated right and they dont take off weight for clothing. i havent had any solids. just protein shakes made with light soymilk, broth and thats about it actually. the hunger was awful the first 2 days but now im not even hungry anymore. im lucky i guess. i dont live near family so im not out at restaurants. a salads not a bad choice tho, good job! keep it up! we will be banded in no time!

i know its only a few pounds but i swear i can see a difference. ive easily lost a couple inches off my stomach. this makes me ridiculously happy. also, apparently my stomach was making grumbly noises for an hour before i realized i was hungry. i was like, "what the hell is that sound? ooh that doesnt sound good. OH, im hungry!" LOL! time for another protein shake i guess.

  12. im having surgery in 1 week (OMG!!!) and im just curious to know what foods you guys have trouble with once you were back on solids. i hoping ill be able to eat stuff like shrimp, broccoli, citrus, cube steak, and in moderation, popcorn and angel hair Pasta. will i have to give up pasta entirely? what about potatoes? i dont eat potatoes often but i like them sometimes. so what gives you trouble and do you have a fill or not?
  13. you and i are getting banded on the same day. good luck to you! how is your pre-op diet going?
  14. to ALL of you doing your pre-op diets: hang in there! <3 the band will be your reward for sticking to the diet! im on day 5 myself. 3 Protein shakes a day and broth if i want it. and of course Water. thats it. talk about tough! the first 2 days were horrible and i was starving but ive dropped 5 pounds already and im not feeling as hungry anymore. its tough to be on this diet and have to be around people eating whatever they want. my hubby has been pretty supportive and is eating his tastiest food in another room so as not to tempt me. i told him its fine to eat around me if its gross food (bologna or something like that...ew. lol i hate bologna.) im scheduled for surgery on the 25th. i cant wait! boy, do i miss food! im not feeling hungry...i just miss the taste and feel of real food.
  15. carmen, thanks for commenting with this! it makes me feel so much better about the sugar free jello and popsicles i bought last night!

thanks! i shall keep y'all posted. Neverquit, congrats on getting a surgery date! im a bit nervous but really looking forward to this. my husband is way more nervous than i am!
  17. Betsy, the only CIB that i found was the regular and the "no sugar added", which still had more sugar than i should be having. ah well, i found a good high Protein powder at my local grocery store so im using that. im jealous of the people whose surgeons let them have lean meat and veggies! im gonna be starving on just liquids for 2 weeks, but i have to follow my surgeons instructions. sugar free Jello isnt a no-no? because that would be awesome.
  18. Gloria and Betsy, thank you so much for elaborating and posting about your experiences. he and i will look it over and discuss everything in the next week or two. he has been coming with me to all of my appointments, the class, and knows the procedure pretty well. i think its just the realization that big change is approaching quickly thats getting to him. i think hes worried that maybe im going to become a food nazi and he will be forced to live off of salads for the rest of his life, which certainly wont be the case.
  19. its weird isnt it? im still in shock too. it seems so unreal! best of luck to you on your journey! i know you can make it work for you!

  24. congrats!!! isnt it exciting!? i just got my date today too!
  25. OH WOW! :tt2: i just got my surgery date. Feb 25th! i meet with my surgeon on the 16th and the anesthesiologist on the 17th. ive been trying to get a band since November 2008! as of now on a 2 week fat free, sugar free, liquid diet, plus Protein shakes. this consists of Protein Shakes im mixing myself (the surgeon recommended Carnation Instant Breakfast but its not sugar free or low carb, so i chose a different one), fat free low sodium chicken broth, Water.....um....im open to other suggestions! is the occasional sugar free Jello a no-no during the pre-op diet? how about V-8? i need more choices i think. how much did you lose during the pre-op diet? anyways, im excited and a bit nervous but im definitely looking forward to this! the hubby is apprehensive, due to so much change happening in such a short time but hes being supportive and understanding. I AM SO EXCITED!
