  1. There's a thread started to pull this together. I think it will be held in Feb 08. For those that have tight budgets....SELL THOSE CLOTHES THAT ARE TOO BIG!!! You'll have enough money in no time.:clap2::clap2: Garage sales or Ebay is a great way to make a little cash. I want to see ALL OF the SHRINKING VIOLETS THERE!!! We'll all be on our way to VEGAS:car:
  2. I've got my calendar marked. Let me know if I can help. Sounds like there will be fun for all! What a wonderful reward for our hard work. Yeah!! to US! Thank you Juli for pulling this together!!
  3. Welcome to the losers side. :clap2: Never thought being a loser would be a good thing but it's WONDERFUL. I had my surgery April 7th and usually hang out in the Shrinking Violets. Everyone's welcome there. Great Success to you!
  4. Medically speaking. When anyone is over weight more than 100 lbs. They produce more Estrogen from the fat cells. So....with a male ..that's usually a decrease. Of course with the weight dropping the self-esteem sky rockets. Enjoy!
  5. Just pouts and kicks a rock!! Vegas yes!! Cruise...BARFFFF!! I get seasick! Ya'll have a great time!!:clap2:
  6. Just a reminder that a get together is being planned for all of us that want to attend. Go to the thread in the General Lap-Band Discussion on meeting planned or something like that. It's getting closer to becoming a reality. Vegas BABY!!!:whoo:
  7. Good Luck with the PS!! I'm finding all kinds of sagging I want taken care of. I've started saving now!!!!!!!!
  8. Check with your Dr. and see if he will give you an RX for prenatal vitamins. The vitamins, more protein and time will give you back your beautiful hair.
  9. 95lbs isn't too shabby that's for sure. All weight loss gets old but without this help we wouldn't be here. If you have to pay for fills wouldn't the surgery (vertical sleeve) be an awful lot of money and pain? You can buy a lot of fills and unfills for what that will cost. My Dr. doesn't like the vertical sleeve and he does all types of WL surgery. I don't know why. Good luck to you in your decision. BTW..I have a friend that had the VS right before I had the lapband. She spits up most of the time and isn't living a *normal* life as I am with my weight loss surgery. She's lost more weight but is having reflux and her Dr. has warned her that her pouch might stretch with all the food in and pbing out.
  10. That old saying goes a long way now since..the medical profession has found numerous ways the lowly apple helps in preventing many diseases. What brought this up was the BM posts. We use to tell our patients to eat an apple EACH night, instead of snacking on not good for you foods. It takes a while to eat the apple, giving you the hands feeding yourself, the crunchy to the sweet tastes, etc. Try this for at least 4 days. You will find you have NO bathroom issues with the no go. Better for you than laxatives. The fibersure is good but nothing can beat..natures medicines. My two cents!
  11. I'm leaving next Tuesday for Portland..MAINE and Bar Harbor!!! We LOVE the Maine coast. Can't wait to nibble on some LOBSTA! And it COOL!! Not like this Texas heat! You look great, plus a beautiful smile. Doing a happy dance. I think all of the Violets are doing great and look absolutely MAVALOUS! Great Success!
  12. :clap2::clap2::clap2: I want to be like YOU!!! Absolutely AWESOME
  13. I was banded on April 9th and have had one fill of 1cc. I'm eating more than I know I should but not anywhere what I use to. I haven't lost a pound since my fill which was 4 weeks ago. I hear people say they were *good* for 3 months and then haven't been since or they fell back into their old eating habits. Why would that happen if they have the correct fill? Does the *sweet spot fill* make you not hungry? So you can bypass those bad foods? Seems like if you aren't losing weight and are still trying to eat within the rules you should have a fill...is this correct? For those that have been banded over a year...Can you give me some insight?
  14. Thanks to all for answering my question. I've decided to have the fill and go on about my life. Waiting until a party, vacation etc before I would watch what I ate GOT ME HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I'll call and ask my questions and then go forward unless the Dr. says it's a bad idea. Great Success, Househuntress
  15. I've had ONE fill which gave me a *tiny* bit of restriction. The day BEFORE we fly across country for a vacation; I am suppose to get my second fill. I usually swell like a toad when I fly. What does it do to the band? ( I'm thinking about how my shampoo bottles look when I unpack..all squished or puffed) I'm also afraid of eating too much if I don't have a fill but on the other hand what if I'm too tight and miserable and pb'ing. I've got 1 cc in a 4 cc band right now. I'm not sure what the Doctor puts in the second fill. He gives everyone 1 cc the first time. Input? Experience? Great $uccess, Househuntress
  16. I will have my first fill today and have to travel 2 hours to the Doctor. I didn't think to ask about this until last night and now it's too late. I have a 1:00 pm. appt. of course I want to eat at 11:30. Does it make a difference if you eat or not?:hungry: I tried to search the answer and it kept coming back that I didn't use enough words for my search!!! Great Success to ALL!
  17. I vote for Vegas, easy airfare and hotels for all plus it's cheaper. I don't have little ones at home, so what's better.....going during school or when it's out? Mom's?
  18. :clap2::clap2:Kat! I LOVE reading your mini-series! Keep posting them!
  19. :kiss2::kiss2:GOOD LUCK MDRAI!!! We'll all be here to cheer you on or answer questions. WELCOME TO THE BAND!! Kity...I say get the fill. I can do A LOT OF DAMAGE IN A SHORT WHILE WITH FOOD. You don't want to undo all the hard work just wanting to eat...Do you? No...I didn't think so. Great Success to ALL.
  20. Anyone GAIN weight before their fill? I'll get my first fill in two days. I felt no hunger for 6 weeks (other than head hunger). I did well lost weight..but then about two weeks ago it was like a light switch that switched back to my old demon hunger!! I've fought and fought but have gone back (not totally) to the old way..doing well during the day but overeating at night. I can eat anything...no restriction. I weighed this morning after being on the lake and eating CRAP. Weight this morning..get this 5!! FIVE pounds since Friday!!! Of course now I want to starve myself to get the weight off in two days?????? Like it didn't work for 40 years why do I think it will work NOW!!!!! I feel horrible and soooo down!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME????!!!!!!!!!!!!:help::help::help: Thanks for listening.
  21. I was wondering about the average fill rate with those of us that have a 4CC band. I'll get my first fill May 30th. My Dr. believes in giving the first fill 8-9 weeks after banding. Which btw I feel that's too long to wait. The reason being at first you can't eat much and learn to eat small portions and chew well..by the time you wait so long you've fallen back into the old BAD habits. He also will give 1CC only as a first fill. What does your doctor do?
  22. Hello All, Sooo jealous of all the hard working teachers that will have the summer OFF!! You all deserve it! I'm finally scheduled for a fill next Wednesday. I was working hard at not eating, but frankly it was too..hard. Early last week it was like a light switch had been turned on!! My OLD Appetite was BACK!! I've struggled and struggled each night like I did for 40 freaking years. Last night I came up with a short term solution! I got the teeth whiten strips and when my worst time to eat at night comes around. I plaster those things on my teeth. I didn't eat last night and on my way to whiter teeth and a fill the 30th.
  23. I'm just sooo mad at myself. I was banded April 9th, 07 and can't get a fill until May 30th. I can eat just about anything. I've been trying hard to eat the small meals. I've lost 23lbs since band day and these last two week, it's been harder to stay with the smaller portions. Well tonight..I blew it. I ate WAY more than I have ever since getting banded. It was almost like I was just trying to see how much I could eat. Now..let me add this..it's NO WHERE NEAR..what I could eat before the band. It's just about double what I have eaten a day since banded.:hungry: I ate out Thursday lunch, Thursday dinner and Friday lunch..so maybe that was what started all of this. I'll have to try to figure out what happened. But I'm still very pissed at myself.:faint: :faint:  I keep trying to listen to myself and say it was just ONE day, just ONE day. :angry
  24. You both are BEAUTIFUL...I've read what you write and know that you both are beautiful inside and out. Now...I'm going to be really blunt. Ask yourselves what your boyfriends get out of the arrangement. do you cook, clean, take care of him? help with the money? be a bedmate? Love him and want to marriage him? NOW..what do you get and WANT..a man that takes all of this from a woman ..and doesn't marry that woman is a selfish man. Please do NOT waste another moment of your percious lives on such a man. If this man LOVED you he would have jumped at the change to marry you. This has NOTHING to do with you..only that you have somehow hitched on to something that only takes and never gives. Each of you are getting stronger in who you are...please, please don't waste your lives with such a person. Hugs, Hugs, Hugs...
