My first Slime
I couldn't believe it this morning. I drank a protein Shake for Breakfast, and for the first time since I was banded 10/31/06 I finally slimmed up. That was nasty. I have had my share of throwing up from being stuck ! But never had mouthfuls of slime to spit out.. I'll wait another 4 1/2 years before this happens again I hope.

I have not tried it yet. The thought of making salad dressing sounds good. How about sharing your secret recipe? Shirley.

tube came apart from port
If you are having so much pain, and it is rubbing, and scraping. You should go into a hospital, and let them look at it through Fluoroscope. If they see it's that bad,,, they might do something for you. Even put it back together with a adhesive that they work with for the Band. Otherwise I am very sorry to hear that something like this has happened to you. I wish you the best of luck, and Good Health only, Shirley.

Do any of you ladies wear or need size 14/16 items?
That's really cool ! When I go threw my cloths again. I will have Winter for this Fall, and I should have a load of Capri's. All will be 2x and up. If no one needs those sizes, then I would give them to the Free Store in Town. I'm sure there will be some 4x that will be looking for some smaller clothes. So look forward to this in a couple of months, or sooner. Just giving a Heads Up to the Larger Ladies. Shirley.

admitted after today's surgery
My guess is with some time, like another day. Your sugar level should drop. Make sure you don't drink anything wit sugar, and I hope your off the IV. If your not Diabetic, then I wouldn't get started on medication for it. They thought my Husband was type 2 Diabetic. They finally went further into testing, and seen a Dietitian. She said I wouldn't start him on Medication, he's not Diabetic. I never gave him the pills, and told him, if they figure out that yes you are Diabetic ! Then you have the Meds.. Never needed it.

I to was a success story, until my surgeon blew it. I started out at 356, was 1 year on a pre surgicial diet, and lost over 120lbs., on a 1200 calorie diet. Then banded I lost around another 20-25lbs, He over filled me, and swore he blew the Band, So when I went back, he deflated me, and said the band was blown. He wouldn't see me, they would call, and say that he is i Switzerland learning new things about the Band. So 3 years later I gain it almost all back. Now I am entitled to Medicare, and they give it to me for the knees. I can't find a surgeon to touch someone else's junk ! Well i found one, that was a student of my old Surgeon, He took me on, and asked me "who was the bigger pain in the *ss? him or his Nurse." I new the Nurse was, but I told him it was him.... Through Fluoroscope,,,,, there was nothing wrong at all ! Just deflated (I COULDN"T BELIEVE IT !) Anyway I started all over again, and this 4cc band works. I am a little more smarter now, because I have been through this before. So because I am able to do this again, and not quit. I call that a success in it's self. WL helps too.

It's a very good thing ! really! I walk unassisted, I am pain free, but,, I will never run again, or walk fast. They are Titanium, like hinges that open and close. So they have one set speed. S l o o o w ! But I walk around the block 3x a week, in about 20-25 minutes. Plus all around the stores. Shirley.

BMI of 34.1, TRICARE STANDARD, MEM MED IN SAV WON'T SEE ME
I would do what some of the people on this site have done. I would put on ankle weights. have ankle weight above the pair your wearing, so it's on the calf, have a couple of them taped around your back also. NOW ! Mind you, I am not kidding... If you want this bad enough, then you are going to have to do whatever it takes to raise your BMI, or,,, this is not going to happen for you. I don't care where you put the weights, just so its not noticeable, also drink as much water as you can. Hook up with a different Dr. if you can. Your not the first to do this ! There have been plenty of women on this site that have done this. Is it cheating Yes! Do you want it bad enough? Have you paid into your ins. for a while Yes ! It all balances out in the end, and you get what you want, and need.

I AM SOOO CONSTIPATED
I still think maybe 1 or 2 Enemas would be needed to flush it all lose, and then the product mentioned above, or CITRIC MAGNESSIA, (TASTE LIKE 7-UP, AND IT WORKS> I KNOW FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE.) You would have to probably ask your pharmacist for it. Just keep taking something to keep regular daily

I AM SOOO CONSTIPATED
Fruit Juice like Apple or what ever makes you go is a good thing. Plus you are getting in liquids, that count.

pre surgical seminar question
I appreciate your answer, and time. My surgeon from 5 years ago could not answer this. He just smiled and said it's to New. We don't know enough about it to answer that question. Everyone that I new, that had it done is in the Ground. Even some Relatives of my Husbands. The latest one was last fall in the Town where I live. I am banded, and would take banding any day compared to what I have seen. Yet I have not met a surgeon that could answer this question. So, again,,, Thanks for your opinion, and time. Shirley.

Male who needs help
O.K. So you love your food, and are probably addicted to it like a Drinker or Smoker. The Good part is you will eat again, just not Groves of it. You will learn to eat sensibly, and as long as you chew your food up well, you won't have a problem. Now the Smoker, or Drinker,,, If they have 1 or 2 there back in the Soup all over again. You won't have that problem. You will eat 3 times a day, and some times snack. You will keep a journal so that you don't go over 1800 calories for a man I believe ! Your surgeon will tell you how much, but that is a lot of food ! ! ! Go to myfitnesspal.com and sign up. It's free.. You type in your food., It looks it up. and bang there are your breakfast calories. It adds all meals up for calories and Protein. Also log your exercise on it. It will do all your calculations for you. Trust me,,, you will definitely eat ! Just remember to chew... Good Health to you, Shirley..

I have to make a decision..
I did 1200 calories a day with no exercise at all, and lost over 100lbs. in a year. Now that is very doable with a journal, and Protein shakes to kill hunger. But can you keep it off is the Question. If the answer is no then I would go with the Dr. suggestion. You can always try the Diet and see how it works. If it;s no good,,, Go see your Dr.... Good Health to you, Shirley.

IM GAINING weight !!
Could be water to go on that fast. Also if your busting your butt, remember Muscle weighs more then fat. Don't Panic! it's not major, and it will come off.

pre surgical seminar question
I hope this is not out of line, because some people choose By Pass. I would ask what is Longevity with the By Pass? I know your Lap Band, but would you refer that to the Dr., or do you think you have a answer for this? My surgeon couldn't answer this, so I am searching for the answer. Thanks, Shirley.
