  1. Just for the asking,,, have you ever had your thyroid checked ? It's only a tube of Blood, and then when they test your Thyroid Level, they will tell you if it;s in normal range or not. Your PCP can run the test. It's a thought.
  2. It's a comorbidity... So you should let your Dr know. It's in your favor for the surgery.
  3. They are all right! ***** 5 star rating all the way. You will look at food differently, and find your self saying No, I really don't want that. I might have this instead. I do that all the time. Your taste buds will change (possibly) So you might find things that you would love to have, just might not really interest you anymore. That is not uncommon at all. I also read a saying on here once, and it was something like this. Nothing tastes as sweet as skinny. That is so true ! ! ! Once you see the weight coming off, and you realise that this is possible... Nothing will stand in your way, when it comes to losing weight. Shirley.
  4. Yep ! When you get Banded it is a fill after fill process to reach your goal where you are comfortable. When this happens, you will still be able to eat Healthy food ! BUT,,,,, There is something inside you that actually causes your cravings to eat, and I am not talking just Head Hunger. For me, when I am in my comfort zone, it doesn't really act up. So you don't think about food that much at all, or feel the Hunger. For me,,, that was a major concern. To have that practically deadened, makes it all possible. Glad you made a decision, and hope this helps. Shirley.
  5. There is a website that has MUSCLE MILK LIGHT under $19.00 for a jug of powder @ scoops for a 8oz. shake. There is a large variety of flavors, and with shipping, its only $5.00 for 1 or all you want. Still $5.00. If you want the website, pm me, and I will give it to you.
  6. Yep I agree,, It's something tied into the band, swelling, or above. Check with your Doctor, and see what he says. Part of my stomach is pulled up over the band, and then stitched. I also hear this helps prevents slippage. I hope that's true. I constantly feel like I have a knot in my throat, but that's me...... You will find out ! As long as you are clear, that's a plus.
  7. Those are all Great Answers ! I Thank You all for your time, and kind words. Shirley.
  8. You are doing M A V A L I S ! Just be careful with the Gum. You might want to see how your surgeon feels about it. If it's fine,,, then enjoy. :woot:
  9. Anything from the Weather to Anger or Tension can cause the band tighten up. If I am having a bad day a lot of Stress or Tension. I'm done for the day.... Nothing will go down easy. So I will stick to Hot Soup.
  10. I have to drink when I eat. Otherwise I would have a couple of spoonfuls and it would feel like a Heart Attack... My surgeon said I'm to sensitive, and if water works then do it. Just don't go over 1200 calories Daily. So that's how mine works.
  11. Soup is good for you.. So a great choice ! especially compared to chips Great Job...:hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
  12. Make sure you go to a E.R. that has Bariatric People in it. I had my Fluoroscope done without the chalk, and they see everything. Keep that in mind. Wishing you Luck, Shirley.
  13. O trust me ,,, I understand.. Whether it's Hormonal, or just a itch to scratch. But I also know what to much. to often can do. I'm not judging anyone ! Like I said it's your band ! Your advice is on target about protein first.then vegetables etc. . But chocolate is not a good thing for you. I know it's once in a Blue Moon. But do a Chocolate shake, Protein Bar, or Coco, that's actually fine.
  14. This Saturday my Husband will be taking me out to dinner, at a nice place. Where they serve course after course. I hope they have a simple menu to pick from. We will be Married for 35 yrs., so I know he will want something nice. I need a suggestion on Ordering food. I don't eat much. So light suggestions if you can think of any. I'm thinking Fish........ Thank You, Shirley.
  15. I wish you both Good Health threw your LapBand Journey. Shirley.
  16. If you check my profile, you will see that I am a chocolate LADY ! I started out doing sugar free Chocolates for people with Diabetes, and was a success until the economy dumped quite a few years ago. So I sold my Business, and Retired.. Still kept some things for the kids & Holidays. Outside of that, Chocolate has the most FAT in it, compared to any other sweet that I worked with. If you look at your calorie intake for lunch. Then look at a Protein shake, and read your Protein, and Fat content.. Then look at a chocolate bar for the same reason. I made my own so I don't know what a bar says, but I do know that it is very High in Fat. So instead of getting your Protein Your getting FAT Which is not Healthy at all. It can contribute to the junk in the trunk, saddle bags, just plain weight gain. I know the numbers are the same, but you have to be careful. That's like drinking Diet Coke, and developing a BEER BELLY. Well it's sugar free right ! But yet it can and will happen if you drink enough. Chocolate is not true to you with the numbers. It's your band,, you do what you want. But myself,,, I don't dare touch the stuff. I got up to 356 by making, taste testing chocolates. I won't make the same mistake again.
  17. Well your suppose to follow a diet, if you don't, and eat whatever you want, that will cause it to fail. Plus dieting, and exercise go hand in hand with the band. So if you dont exercise at all, even walk, eventually it will catch up to you, and your weight loss might come to a end. I drink with my meals. I have to, or its very painful for me to try and eat. So I belong to myfitnesspal.com count my calories, and as long as I don't go over my limit... I have Water to chase it down. I am fine with that, but I stay between 800-1200 calories a day.
  18. Mine told me to have a little bit of Carb with your protein. It's like a kicker for the protein.
  19. I just had a 1/4 cc removed yesterday. I had to do to sinus or something. I feel better, but I have to watch that I stay between 800-1200 calories a day. So I have to keep that up untill I go back in a month for a Tweaking. So I recommend you do the same. It's a thought......
  20. I would go to the E.R. where you had your surgery done, and have them look at it under Fluoroscopy. Without, then with the Barium Swallow. Something has to be wrong. Are you on Pepcid Complete? I say that because its chewable, and I don't think you can swallow pills. That will help with the inflammation, and I'm sure with all this throwing up, there is some inflammation going on. The E.R. will do the testing, and contact your DR., but you might see someone else who spots what might be wrong. But if your still throwing up, stay on Luke warm Liquids. Good Health to you, Shirley.
