Ok most of you have seen some of my posts and I just wanta know if anyone has cheated on their liquid diet I know I have twice but I just had one meal each day and now I am gung ho sticking to it, but did anyone else do the same if so did it effect your or how can it effect me I mean I've lost 15lbs so far on 4 days on this thing and I cheated 2 of them a lil

Yea I want to follow the guidlines I just was wondering how her diet was made up and how long she had to be on it ya know.

Ok Tres good luck to you as well hope yall stick to your pre op diet I talked to a girl in one thread who said she had to have the surgery twice because the first time her doc. couldn't get the band in around her liver because it was so big, so I guess it really is important to stick to the plan, I wish I could have slimfast on mine they are making me drink a diabetic weight loss shake called glucerna that is 9 dollars for 4 freaking cans!! They say it dosen't have sugar and thats y!

so how many days prior to surgery did you do the liquid diet

Ok all you guys that have been banded I heard that on opra the other day she had a special on something to do with weight loss ok, and in her discussion it was said that men grow and inch for like every 25-50 lbs they loose and you know what I mean by gaining an inch and I was just wondering if anyone would like to put this in perspective as to whether its true or not, if not I will when I see some changes on my end. Just a question hopefully not offensive. :nervous

I think everyone knows the feeling I mean I haven't been banded yet and I'm already starting to mourn the food, most people do. Look at how many threads there are of people who go out and pig out before surgery, I mean thats like getting one last kiss from a girl your never going to see again lol.

Thanks everyone but I don't think I'll stop smoking that would be to much to soon my doc says that since I don't smoke to much that I shouldn't worry about quiting, he said "of cource I'm not saying its ok to smoke" he just don't want you to mentally ware yourself out.

I'm in Tennessee and I have bcbs of New Jersey and they cover the surgery 100 percent no deductable on my plan it has took some time to get it approved though. I didn't have to do a 6 month diet and it took about 6 to get approved anyway. I started my quest in august and finaly got an approval in Jan, my surgery date is 1/25. Best of luck to you.

I can't wait to be able to jump on my 4 wheeler and the shocks not go all the way in. I can't wait to be able to tie my shoes without proping up my foot on something and being about out of breath. I can't wait to make love to my wife, and I mean really make love not look like a walurus floping on the beach lol. I can't wait to take my little girl on walks and rides and swimming and the beach, there is so many things I can't wait to be able to do that I don't think I could write them all down in a day, like I can't wait to be able to drive my jeep without my belly doing some of the steering for me. I can't wait to be able to go to the track and run around it instead of walking and everyone going around me. Guys I'm so very excited to loose this weight and I really hope the band does the trick. Hopefully God will be watching out for me and will make this attemt permanent. I will be banded 1/25/07

Sounds great guys but we really need to find some statistics somewere I mean there must be some since it was fda approved in what 2001?

Hi Tres I'm scheduled for 1/25/07 I have a 2 week pre op liquid diet

Ok everyone here is the thing, I'm being banded on 1/25/07, and I just have a few more questions to ask. Ok on the two week pre op diet should I A. Stop smoking until after surgery, and B. should I go on this 10 days or 14 prior to surgery date, because all I am allowed is glucerna weight loss shakes *very expensive* juice broths teas lowfat or plain yogurt not very exciting haha. Also what kind of anasthesea do they use is like gas or is it like the liquid valume stuff they pump in your iv. Or does it depend. Also what I want to ask is some statistics like how many ppl have their band after years of having it in, or how many have died from it or how many bands have eroded etc. Just a few scary thoughts. One other thing guys I can't sleep on my back I have to normaly sleep on my somache is this going to be a problem? How much pain medecine do they give you is it all liquid, how much pain are you in when you wake up from sugery?

Thanks yes I guess I'm prepared its just alot going on this month to get to surgery all I am lacking is setting up an appt. with the hostpital to have blood drawn ekg and all that good stuff everything else is in place so I'm hoping my hostpital calls soon so I can get that scheduled and took care of.

I didn't apeal I've just been patient and been calling them once a week and I finally got approved I guess my doctors letters are just very persuasive.

took me from august till jan. so about 5 months for me but I've heard of some people getting approved alot faster though.
