  1. Hello! I understand the battle you are having with yourself. I struggled with having surgery several times. But I had to do it for me. And I love my band. I have lost 75lb in 7 months. It isn't easy but I know the harder I fight the more I will lose. Do it for you! The more I got depressed and stressed about my weight the bigger I got! NO MORE! I am living for me! Do it for you! Good luck! Stop kicking yourself for what happened yesterday and concentrate on what you have in front of you.

    Denied by insurance!!!

I know several people who were denied but filed an appeal and won. Keep on moving forward don't give up. This is your life and you have to fight for it.

A vent that has nothing to do with being banded. :)

I am a youth pastor and I only could wish that I had more step parents like you. It sounds like you have a good relationship with your step daughter. Keep that relationship going. Either the mother will get it or she won't but that should have nothing to do with you. It's your house you set the rules.
  5. I am sorry to hear about your loss! Just trust and beleive that you will see her again. As far as baby I have already started to process I went for my first exam and it went fine now I am on my way to the final stage and after that we can start the process of baby. I am excited!! I have lost 60lbs and feel wonderful. I have my low points still but I think that just comes with having weight issues my whole life. I will keep you posted on baby. Keep up the good work sounds like you are on your way to being a mom in no time!!

    Nervous !!!

I was banded on Oct 29th. The 2nd day was the hardest for me but as soon as I took my meds I was fine. Remember to walk that will help so much with the gas and take GASX soft gel and have someone give you a message. Unfortunatly it makes you burp alot!!:w00t: But I can tell you that it is the best decission I have ever made for myself. I have to agree with Cappy the hardest thing is to know when you are satisfied before you get full. It is all a learning experience. One advice is that while you are learning the does and don'ts remember to learn to love your BAND:tt1: I know that sounds funny but once you realize that you have this amazing tool and that it is there to help you not to hurt you. Then I believe that is when the weight falls right off!! Good luck. I will add you to my prayer list!! God will be with you!!!!
  11. I am glad to hear you are doing so well. Before you know you will be down 50. I am so happy for you!! Isn't it wonderful to finally do something for you!! Keep in touch!

    Freedom

OMG! You have opened my eyes to a wonderful word "FREEDOM". I so want FREEDOM, I need FREEDOM, I deserve to have FREEDOM! Thank you for your post! Cristina
  13. Mine hurt about 5 days. I always had a heating pad on my lower back and an ice pack on my port. It really does work. Try to stretch a little that will help with some of the soreness. Just remember when you are stretching listen to your body and don't over do it. I am really happy you are doing good. Just hang in there. Remember this is your time to heal so don't rush it.

  14. Praying for you!!! I know you are doing great!!!!!!! Just remember its all for your dream!!!

  15. Thanks for the recipe!!

  16. I went through the same thing at the beginning of the year. My Surgery was scheduled March 7th and I backed out. I convinced myself that I could do it on my own even though I haven't been able to in the past. I had terrible dreams that people were yelling at me calling me a failure because I had the surgery. I even had a dream that I died!! But on Oct 29th I finally made up my mind to take over my head thoughts and go for it. It has been the best decission I have ever made. Is it hard? Is it a huge challenge? YES but you have to remember you only have a tool the rest is up to you and that is what makes it a awesome wonderful challenge. You will love the end results. AND the band gives you a since of power and courage. I love it! Just trust that God will guide you though your decission. Cristina

    Thanksgiving Week Review...and a NSV!

Please send me the recipe. Thanks Cristina
  18. I started walking the same day I had surgery. I was told not lift weights until after 6weeks. But I walk and jog 6 days out of the week for now between 30-40mins.
  19. I was banded on Oct 29th. Dr. Marsden was my surgeon. I have lost 25lbs. 12lbs before the surgery. I am very happy. I have no restriction yet! just trying to learn to eat smaller portions. And killing my hunger pains with protein drinks and water. Not always easy!!! I get my first fill Dec 4th and I can't wait. This has to be the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I have been overweight since I was 2 yrs old. I have been a yo yo dieter all my life I have said good bye and hello to this 25lbs forever but not this time. I got them they are gone FOREVER!!!!!!!!!
  20. Well my doctor told me to have a nice final meal!! Don't over do it but make sure it is good. Crushed ice from Sonic is wonderful to chew when you are on all liquid diet and they have a great Lite Lemonade Minute maid drink!! I lived on those. Get a heating pad and ice packs. The hospital sent an ice pack home with me and I used it!! Take your pain and nausea meds and walk walk walk. Have your husband message you when the gas pain travels to your shoulders that will help so much. I am so excited for you. Keep me posted

  21. Just wanted to check in and see how you are doing?

    I Cheated!!!!!!! Help

You should be fine. My Dr told me to go out the day before surgery and have a steakl and bake potatoe. He wanted me to enjoy a good meal before surgery because he new how hard I was working that PRE OP and he new that 3 weeks after that I would be eating soft and mushy foods. Don't worry!
