  1. I was banded May 6th and went for my first fill under fluoro about 2 weeks ago. My port was facing up instead of facing out, which makes it harder to access. I went from 4.5 to 6cc in a 14cc band. I don't feel any more restricted and have actually gained 5lbs in the last 2 weeks. I am very nervous about getting my next fill in the doctors office because I can't even feel where my port is and I don't want them fishing around my abdomen with a big needle. When the PA did it under fluoro I had a big bruise on my abdomen for about 2 weeks. I'm so frustrated about all of this. Danielle
  2. May 6th and I've lost 22 lbs. 1st fill in 2 weeks. I haven't started exercising yet and I'm doing good with the protein but no so good with everything else. Overall I am very happy so far. Danielle
  3. I am almost a month post-op and I haven't lost any weight in the last 2 weeks, since I advanced to soft and mushy food. I keep fluctuating between 2 lbs. I am not able to eat a whole lot, less than 1000 calories a day. But I am drinking my water and excercising occasionally. I just can't believe that the scale isn't moving. My metabolism must be in the toilet after the month of liquid dieting. Danielle
  4. I am almost a month post-op and I can hardly eat anything at each meal. I have to eat less than a cup of food or my chest and stomach hurt. I also notice that both solids and liquids seem to sit in my esophagus before moving down sometimes. In the mornings I have very little appetite and only drink a protein shake. I can eat more as the day goes on. I am just wondering if I will even need a fill when the time comes. I can't imagine eating less than I do now. I am not even getting in 1000 calories a day. Danielle
  5. I have lost 55 lbs since Feb.(31 of those lbs since the pre-op diet) and got my bmi under 50! I look forward to meeting many more goals with all of you! Danielle
  6. So yesterday was post-op day 9 and I was actually hungry when I woke up. I started drinking my 1000th protein drink and thought I am really hungry and I felt like I could tolerate a little solids. Plus since some people doctors were letting them move onto mushies by this point I thought it would be ok. I have a strict doctor and am on liquids for 2 weeks, pureed for 2 weeks and then soft foods for 2 weeks before my first fill. So I cooked myself up 2 scrambled eggs. I chewed every bite thoroughly. Almost immediately after eating it my stomach started hurting, then my back and my chest. I couldn't eat anything the rest of the day. I felt like food was stuck in my esophagus and in the back of my throat and had pressure in my chest, even when I went to bed last night. I am feeling really stupid right now. Maybe one egg would have been ok, but it really looked like a small amount. I hope that I didn't do any damage to anything. I guess I will follow doctors orders to the letter now. Danielle
  7. Well I had a rough week with constipation and gas pain. I still have no appetite and I feel like a need to burp all of the time, but nothing comes out. I am only managing 2 protein drinks, a cup of broth and some water a day and that is a chore. I am still on liquids until my post op appt on Thursday. I think if I could have some real food my appetite would improve. I am so sick of liquids. I have to cook meals for my family and I want to eat some so bad! I have resorted to taking a bite, chewing it up and then spitting it out. But at least I got to taste something good! I lost 18lbs pre-op and have lost 10 more in the last week. So I am down 50lbs since Feb. I haven't been down this low since I had my first child, 7 years ago. Danielle
  8. I wanted to lose 10% of my body weight on my own before surgery. I started WW in Feb and between that and the liquid pre-op diet I lost 41 lbs. I started at 372 and was 331 pre-op. I can't wait to kiss the 300's goodbye forever!! Danielle Banded 5/6/09

  10. My surgery was May 6th at 7:30 am. The anesthesiologist gave me some Versed while I was in my pre-op room and I don't remember anything from that point on until I woke up in recovery. I never saw the inside of the OR. I did get a shot of Lovenox in the belly before surgery that ached for a few minutes. When I woke up in recovery my mouth was really dry and I ate some ice chips every 10-15 minutes. My belly felt bloated and sore. I got a little bit of Dilaudid. I couldn't have much because my blood pressure was really low. I had mild nausea and got a small dose of Phenergan for that. I was home by 12:45. I am really surprised at how little I hurt. I can move around a lot without it hurting too much. I mostly just feel bloated. I am taking my Lortab elixer for pain and gas x around the clock. I did have one episode of severe nausea in the middle of the night that I had to take a Phenergan suppository for. I have cotton mouth and I don't have an appetite. So all in all, things went well and I feel pretty good and am sooo ready to get losing! Good luck to everyone! Danielle
  11. I'm on a liquid diet for two weeks. It's 1000 calories, low-fat and sugar free. I can have protein drinks, non-caloric beverages, broths and low-fat creamed soups. No chunks. I have to get at least 60 grams of protein a day. I'm on day #2 and it's not too bad, except for having to cook real food for my family. Danielle
  12. I'm Danielle in SC. I am scheduled for May 6. I started my low-fat, sugar-free liquid diet yesterday. So far, so good.
  13. Wow! You're doing great. Half-way to your goal in 2 months. That is the kind of weight loss I had the first time I tried Phentermine.
  14. My name is Danielle and I am almost through the pre-surgery process. I am hoping to get banded sometime in the next two months. I have been battling obesity since I was a little girl and am hoping that this will be a permanent solution for me. I have 5 young children and I need more energy! I look forward to getting to know everyone. Danielle
