  1. Congrats! Sending positive energy your way for an easy surgery. You will do great.
  2. Under Construction: Congrats to you, as well. Looks like you have had some good loss already. You are gonna do splendidly, too.
  3. Yippee! Excited for you. Imagine: by this time tomorrow, you will have your sleeve!
  4. Lots of people reported that their feet got smaller after losing weight -- sometimes as much as a full size. I know that my shoe size has changed based on my weight.
  5. Amazing! Good for you. That is huge!
  6. Rock that sleeve! Congrats to you.
  7. Yippee! Congrats and you will do splendidly.
  8. KS Dallas, I am a day before you and I am worried that I am a bit obsessed right now. I am grateful that I have a super busy schedule until then; perhaps that will help the time to move more quickly. You are very fortunate that you will have several weeks to recuperate. Right now, I plan to return to work after eight days. I am currently taking off vacation time, but I might switch that to sick time. ChristyLove, I also was told not to begin the pre-diet yet. I thought it would help me to get into practice and help me to jumpstart my weight loss, but my coordinator said they don't want me to do that because I might be tempted to cheat later. I get it. In response to your question, the statistics I have seen indicate that people should expect to lose 75-80 percent of their excess weight, although many people clearly exceed that.
  9. Sending lots of positive energy your way.
  10. I think that if the relationship is important to you, it is essential that you calmly explain how this makes you feel and discuss a different way of interacting. I also would point out that his focus on discussing food seems new. His response will let you know how to move forward.
  11. I am sorry for your loss. It sounds like you have done what was necessary for you and your family. I am sure you won't have a problem getting it rescheduled considering the circumstances Take good care.
  12. I am sure the surgery will be problem-free. Before you know it, you will be bragging about how much weight you have lost!
  13. How are other July sleevers holding out?
  14. I will be sleeved in exactly six weeks! I can hardly wait. I have been counting the days since early May and even though it still sems a ways off, I can actually see it on the horizon. Thank goodness the next few weeks are going to be super busy.
  15. Wow! You are doing great! If you feel up to it, you should get out and enjoy the day. That might help to take your mind off things.
  16. You are gonna do great! I am happy for you, but I AM a little bit jealous because my date is still six weeks out! Enjoy your weekend and get ready to rock that sleeve!
  17. It is going to be more than all right: it is going to be fantastic. In a few days, your surgery will be done and you will be on to a healthier -- and better -- life. I know it is hard, but I encourage you to figure out ways to take your time off food. You will have a number of activity restrictions for a while following surgery, so maybe you can do some work around home or that kind of stuff. The bottom line is that lots of folks have made it through and so will you! You are courageous and will not regret this!
  18. Not "hot checks!" LOLOLOL!
  19. I have a lapband and am scheduled for revision to a sleeve in July. It is possible that that lapband will work well for you, but I could never recommend it. Like others, eating was always a chore when I had it. Even when I was "full," it was a feeling a not being able to eat more, but not of feeling un-hungry. Does that make sense? The pouch seemed full but the hunger was not fulfilled. Also, there were soooo many foods I couldn't eat. Most importantly, although I lost weight in the first year, I never reached what is referred to as my "sweet spot." I had lots of fills and unfills. Because I never got to a "sweet spot," I stopped losing weight and, in fact, have regained much. That is not to excuse myself of any responsiblity; it is to say that it was not an effective tool for me. I paid cash for the surgery because my insurance had an exclusion for weight loss surgery, so every fill, unfill or doctor visit was cash payment, too. Over time, that added up to a lot of money. And though I am now in a different job and have different insurance, it, too, has an exclusion for weight loss surgery. So now I am paying cash for the revision. The major appeal of the lapband to me was the "reversible" nature of it. I literally thought they would be able to simply go in, take it out, and it would be like it had never been there. Naive, I suppose, but I don't think uncommon. Had I known about the scar tissue that would be created from having this foreign item in my body, I would have added that to the list of possible negatives. I cannot wait to have my revision surgery. And while I know people who have had success with the lapband, they have been few and far between. It might be right for you, so you definitely need to do your research. But add me to the list of nays. Good luck!
  20. Hey Daryl1 Congrats on your surgery. Glad you are doing well.
  21. Wonderful! Glad things are going so well.
