  1. I'm gonna say no. My heart has been broken by too many straight boys! I kid. I kid. LOL
  2. I am super thrilled for you and impressed. What a wonderful role model you are!
  3. Still sending positive energy, Nanny. Congrats on the new surgery date. You will be just a few days ahead of me (July 9).
  4. I was self pay for my lap band ($10,000 -plus). My bariatric group (not the same one that did the band, as I have moved to a different city since then) charges $16,000 for band to sleeve revision. I am paying approximately a third of that in Mexico. But I also am very comfortable because Medical Tourism is nothing new and I am excited about the experience and reputation of my doctor. And yeah, health insurance... um, yeah. My coverage is pretty excellent overall, but bariatrics definitely are excluded.
  5. Hi Kspye, Congrats on your successful surgery and welcome. I will be revised from band to sleeve on July 9 and can hardly wait. I look forward to hearing more about your journey.
  6. Rocking out for you both! Congrats! And it is soonf or you both.
  7. I don't understand this, but I am almost willing to bet that this policy will change as more reseach is done and the sleeve becomes more widely known. Would you have been able to join if you had undergone a different type of WL surgery?
  8. Glad it went well!
  9. RoyBoy, you gotta give us before and after pics!
  10. Congrats to you and thanks for the strong testimonial!
  11. I love Crystal Light, but I can't stand it full strength because it is too sweet. I use twice as much water and that is perfect for me. That might be an option for you.
  12. Thrilled for you. You will do splendidly.
  13. Sounds like you are playing with fire and risking serious complications.
  14. Congrats on your surgery. Sounds like you are extremly motivated and I am certain you will do well.
  15. Laura30, if you don't get a response, try using the search feature at the top right of the page. Be sure to search "Forums" not "This Forum." I tried it just now and pulled up a few entries.
  16. I agree with what has been said by others, but I also think you may want to talk to a professional about your food addiction. I see no shame in that and it might help you get where you want/need to be.
  17. All will go splendidly, I am certain. Godspeed!
  18. Ooops! I meant "changing" my date.
  19. That seems to be right, Ready, although it seems to vary. I don't have my sleeve revision until July, so I can't speak from experience on this one. When I had the lap band surgery, I was back to normal in a couple of days but it is much less invasive. There are a couple of threads about how long you should take off work -- you might want to check those out.
  20. Congrats. I will be with Dr. Almanza on July 9.
  21. I've had Muscle Milk in the past and I really like it. I also plan to order the Unjury.
  22. Congrats on your approval. I'd be willing to bet there will be a cancellation before then.
  23. I don't think driving restrictions relate to stitches. When I received the lap band, the doctor OK'd driving as soon as I was off pain meds. I think it is the same with this procedure. I think the bigger concern is whether you will have the level of energy that your job requires. And the barbecue thing will be a no-no.
