Wow, so you have lost 24 pounds in nine days! That's amazing. Just hang in there, it will get better as time goes by. It sounds like you have a good head start and if you follow the rules correctly, you'll be unbeatable! I'm glad you are feeling better, and, unfortunately, I will tell you that your appetite will come back - just give it a little time. Make sure you drink your Water so you don't get dehydrated and think positive. You are on your way!

You shut her up for good! Great job, what a wonderful feeling that must have been. I have an entire drawer full of clothes that I will one day fit into, very upscale summer clothes from closeouts and store closures. I can not wait to get in them, sounds like you would fit in them now - you've motivated me, I want to feel that way. Thanks for a great, feel good post, there's no stopping you now!

Give her some time... You know it's funny, but I kinda know how she feels. My husband and I start eating healthy together and he loses so much more weight so much quicker. This got me so upset that I said, if your weight goes lower than mine, I will not stay married to you. Then it happened... Fortunately, he's way too great a guy to let go so that didn't happen - also, he said if that's the case, I'll go eat everything in sight for the next week until I'm more! I wouldn't do that to him, it was just upsetting when he passed me by and he doesn't have the band and he's a guy and supposed to be heavier! Just give her a little time, she probably thinks things are going to change and you're going to leave her behind. When she comes around, assure her that is not the case and things will go back to your regular relationship. Change isn't easy and this is no different. Good luck, by the way, it's an exciting journey!

Missy, you are amazing! I think you have something special to have lost this much weight, let alone, the time period that you did. What an inspiration! I'm with you, losing the cane would have been great, but you also lost the weight - truly incredible. Thanks for sharing your beautiful story!

Wow, that bra sounds really neat with the double straps. I'm a 38DDD and may want to head to Ashley Stewart to try their bras! I've never been in there. I can't imagine wearing a black bra with a white top... Wouldn't you see it right through the shirt? I've never been able to wear sports bras and probably never will (because I have no intention of getting a breast reduction!) You look fantastic, by the way!

Yes, they are all normal. The only one that wasn't required for me was the upper GI scope. I was also required to get a psych evaluation and attend preparation classes. Good luck with everything!

OnMyWay2Thin got a reaction from dylanmiles23 in Hi I'm new
Hello Stephanie, Welcome! I'm 45 and very excited for you. Take advantage of the best time for losing the weight, the first year. I lost 70 pounds during that time. Unfortunately, I had some medical issues (not band related) and have gained back 35. I'm now back on track and following all the rules again. The post above me, by Tom from Toronto, was great, he basically said it all and gave some great advice. I wish you the best of luck with surgery, it was the easiest surgery I've had to tell you the truth. My only complaint was the gas pains 1-2 days following surgery. I can eat anything, though I did have a slight problem with turkey last Sunday because I tried white meat. I can only eat the dark or I get stuck. Other than that, it's all in moderation. My weight gain occurred when the band was completely unfilled due to the medical issue. It's now refilled and I'm feeling restriction and confident I'll lose the weight again, fast! Well, best of luck as you begin this exciting journey!

OnMyWay2Thin got a reaction from mrsto in Gurgling
When I haven't eaten for a while and have a very empty stomach, I get gurgling when I drink liquids. It's very strange and it used to annoy me but it doesn't anymore. It actually tells me it has been a little too long since I have had food. That being said, you are very new to the band and on a restricted diet, just follow the rules and think of the gurgling as your body's way of saying, "Hey, you are losing weight as I gurgle!!" Good luck and just take it slow!

David, CONGRATULATIONS! I'm a stickler for detail and according to my calculations, you have actually lost 102 pounds and you achieved your short term goal well before Memorial Day 2013!!! You sound like you have really followed the rules and been committed to using the band properly. I'm currently trying to get back on track again and you are a true inspiration. Great job! Thanks for sharing!

It's definitely a learning experience. You will start to understand how to eat because the way you feel will guide you. I usually take a long time to eat and I do it slowly. Yes, I'm usually the last one eating and still have food on my plate. My solution is I ask my husband to join in and eat some of my food, too. After a while, I really get sick of wasting or bringing home boxes every time I go out. Just take it slow, chew a lot, and let your body guide you. Good luck!

    a. No, but insurance aid for it. 5. How did you feel right after the surgery? (physically, emotionally, etc.)

I think we all get frustrated with the band. I was banded in 2008 and lost 70 pounds, I've since regained and now know when I have a problem with the band to see my doctor. Well, I'm on my way now and really hoping that this time I will lose the weight I gained back (about 30 pounds) then proceed past that amount! As of today, I'm back on LapBandTalk which helped me so much before. I'm committed to this journey and know it takes time to reach success! So, hello, to everyone on there, it's nice to meet all of you and hear your concerns (which are often my own!) This looks like a fantastic thread!
