  1. I got an appointment for my surgon consult today and found out that I have to attend a second seminar the surgons office told me I had to do a daytime one in addition to the evening one I attended on 9/11 but atleast I see the surgon the same day.
  2. I love the baby spoon idea:thumbup: I'll need to do that if/when I get my surgery I take big bites good way to make them smaller. Did you go to the baby dept to get them?
  3. Thanks for the information I looked this book up at my favorite online bookstore (Amazon) and found several other books dealing with weight loss surgery life.
  4. Even though I'm a long way from being banded I think about this twice everyday when I take my meds ans supplements. Since most of them are for conditions due to my weight I keep hoping that as I lose some may not be needed any longer.
  5. I'm a web based application developer (coldfusion & SQL Server 2005) in Louisville, Ky.
  6. My thoughts exactly. If there are issues the band can be removed........
  7. You are right I may not have to restart just thinking as long as this takes to get approved I'd hate to be almost to approval and have to start submitting paper work again. I see my PCP on Monday I'll check with his office on my referral...I found out at the smeinar Dr. Shina likes to see patients before they go to the Bariatric Group. Niot sure how that changes things but I'm just ready (like everyone) to get it done.
  8. It looks like we can do either the 3 or the 6 where I work, when I called Atena the rep just pointed me to the policy bulletin which outlines both. I'm hoping for the quicker. The main reason I hope to get it over before the year end so I don't have to start the process over when our insurance changes. Good luck with your journey.....JT
  9. You are in the lead now...go girl
  10. I know what you mean when I was in the AF I weighed a chunky 199 (My max) and had a hard time staying there now at 318 I wish I was a fat 199... I guess it's all relative... Good luck and hope you feel better soon....JT
  11. I'm going to Norton Suburban tomorrow for the seminar. I hope I can get through the process before the end of the year found out that my insurance will be changing 1/2009 from Atnea to United Health Care I'd hate to have to start the process over again....JT
  12. I don't know who Caritas is but if insurance will pay and you have time to wait for the process I'd let insurance pay for it.....JT
  13. I don't know what to say...intresting.....
  14. Leena you bring up an intresting point. I have partner for 7 years now and have gaind A LOT since we got together. As I start my adventure I've been wondering about the port (I think that's what it called) and if any one notices it when... cuddling? He's supporting me but I don't want him to freak if you can see or feel it. As far as losing weight rapidly for the males of our people group it makes people wonder about our health... you know...JT
  15. Dr. Jeff Allen is also with that group and I've heard a lot about him. My PCP is refering me to Dr. Shina(sp) who is also from Norton, my PCP was pretty firm about me using the docs from Norton.
  16. Has anyone had Dr. Shina? That's who my PCP is refering me to, He's part of the Norton Team.
  17. I've bee lurking for about a week....thanks for the info I got during this time and I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier. I had a visit with my PCP and he suggested seeing a surgeon and is working on getting me a consultation. Glad to mee you all and thanks again for the info....jt
