Protein fills you up and lasts longer. I can't eat bread toasted or otherwise . Take it slow eat small bites and pause between each bite. When you feel the restriction stop eating don't force it. Good luck I have had my band for a while now n am at 5 ccs in a 10 cc band. Feel good n losing again after a long stint of gaining . Good luck to you! I Am down 70 since the beginning n want to lose 75 more n keep it off!

How long have you had your band and are you still happy?
If you have an issue you have it removed the studies show that your tummy goes back to how it was before surgery. Good luck with your decision!

Seventh time's a charm?
I am at 6 1/2 cc's in my 10cc band they filled me too much and had pain when I drank water and protein shakes and had to have 1/2 taken out. my question is.. do you all have really loud digestion noises? I do gurlgling and such. I can't eat soup but can eat fish and other proteins. I don't want to have them loosen it but need suggestions on food. Any ideas?? Banded August 2008 lost 84 lbs so far trying to work with a tighter band to move this along...

PB, vomit or just pain?
I was banded last August. I pb a couple times but it quickly passed. i threw up 4 times but that was because of soft bread and too much after a tight fill. it was quick and when i did i felt sooo much better. i try to eat slow but it iss hard to break that habit. lost 84 lbs and feel great. very happy with my decision..

2009 - New York City Banded Together-Lapband Talk National Event
I would hope that everyone would get their hard earned $ back as the seminar was cancelled not just because the person couldn't go...... The right thing to do is to return the money...... I am commenting because I got the thread to this and feel that Cher should make sure everyone gets their money back.... Good luck!

Keeping it a secret?
Now that it has been some time since my surgery... I told everyone and their brother what I did....I now just say, when asked if I have lost weight.... Yes I did and it is a daily struggle to continue...... that is all they need to know at this point. To some closer friends I say medical intervention is a great thing!!! and they just laugh as I do too.

Things I won't/don't miss about being Obese
ZI just want to add that the people that made you feel "invisable" are people that you don't want around you anyway. If they are shallow now they will be shallow later. and you shouldn't give them the time of day when you shed your outer layer and show what a beautiful person you really are. So make friends now and if they love you know they will love you later. Good luck and remember you are worth this and enjoy your journey!!!!! Be healthy, and always listen to your docs, follow the steps and you will be successful! All the best, Always, angcal26

How long do you stay out of work?
Check with your Doctor some require longer out of work stay because of lifting. My doctor said no lifting over 10 lbs for 5-6 weeks. I am a secretary so I went back to work in one week wich I could have taken longer. Ask your doctor and follow what he recommends and be honest about how much you lift. Good Luck.

Hey Cav: Haven't heard from you in a while I guess you have been busy as well as I. I see your picture which is awesome!!! You are a different person. I have lost 68 so far and have to get myself motivated to work out but it has been really cold here in New Jersey that I just want to try and stay warm which seems to be harded since I lost weight. I hope you enjoyed the holidays and drop me a line every once in a while to keep updated. Take care, and I hope to hear from you soon. All the best, Always, Andrea

Need Pep talk! Lap Band Surgery 1/21/09!
My experience was just about the same as above. But I will give you insight to my mental state. I was extremely calm until I got in the car to go to the hospital. My husband and daughter were with me. I cried and thought why am I crying I am going to be fine, better in fact and will be healthier in the long run. So when I was lying on the "cart" to go in I thought I could just get up and walk out of here if I wanted. But I just sat there and breathed in and out and talked to the very nice nurses and they helped relieve my anxieties. So I was banded on August 27, 2008. My recovery was quick and easy. walking and gas x strips helped. I felt good the day after and tried to do too much and then felt like crap after that. So just remember to take it easy the first 5-7 days. Anyway, you must make "friends" with your band and come to the conclusion that you need this for your health. Also, my family doc helped me relieve anxieties with a prescription , i only took 2 halves and was able to sleep through the night and as time passed I felt better mentally and phsyically. Listen to your docs and follow every instruction they advise to you because they know best they have many many patients that have had this procedure and they know what you should be doing. I wish you all the very best of luck with your band. Keep in touch and let me now if you have any questions. I have lost 68 lbs so far and hope to lose 100 more. All the best always, Angcal26

anxiety about this weird thing in your body anyone?
Hey I just wanted to add my 2 cents. I was banded on August 27, 2008. I had anxiety in the hospital waiting to go in where I thought I would just get up and leave. I decided to stay and let the Docs and God and myself succeed!!! I have lost 68 lbs so far and feel really great. i went from a size bigger than a 26 they were tight to a 18-20 now. I love this band whom I so lovingly named "Miss Molly" my alter ego. I had support of my family, friends, fellow banders here on this website and of course my docs to help me sort through my feelings of anxiety. I had a prescription for Xanax filled and took 2 halves and haven't taken anything since the last time which was months ago. I realized that this band is a tool just like a pace maker and it will help me live a healthier happier life. My family loves me and wants me to be around along time. SO, Anxiety, yes we all have it, some can deal with it and get over it and some need help. I always thought I could handle it, but I really needed help the first few weeks after surgery to mentally feel stronger. Now I feel great mentally and physically. you will too. Keep your head up and remember you can do this!!! You deserve it!! All the best, Always, Andrea

Did I permanently stretch my band...Please help!
Hey first stop eating and drinking together wait 1/2 hour at least in between and if you are real thirsty take a very small sip. How big is your band 10cc's??? Don't fret too much I am sure you will be fine. Let me know how your fill goes. Angcal26
