I could really use someone to talk to..
Hey don't give up you are still new to this and you will reach that sweet spot. Just try to take your mind off the band and eating for a while you will succeed!! I was banded in the end of AUgust I lost alot of weight since then but last month i was watching the scale every morning and wasnt moving and you CANNOT do that. Weigh yourself once a week or every 2 weeks. keep following what the docs and nutritionist tells you, try support group meetings and exersize, just walk if you must. you will start working through this rough spot. I have lost 60 lbs and at 5cc in a 10cc band. my doc said that should be a good spot and I am to call him in 2 weeks and let him know how I feel. I weighed myself this morning and slipped past 250 I cannot remember the last time I was there. Anyway, keep me posted on your progress and do not give up your hope. Disregard what others may say, they have no idea what you are going through. Just ignore them. Take Care, Angcal26

Well I want to say congrats you are on your way. Just remember to follow ALL the instructions the docs give you to a tee. I bought lots and lots of Jello, sugar free Crystal light (although I didn't like that at all); Any Fat free broths I could find. then when you trasnition to full, I used Protein shakes and yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce, blended and pureed I stuck what ever I made for my family minus the carb foods in a blender with ff gravys, tuna, chicken w/ff mayo. shrimp with ff mayo.stuff like that. just try to drink as much H2O as possible and take your Vitamins religiously! Stay focused. the first week you may worry alot about what you did but when you heal you will feel better about your decision and start to look great too. It is all good!!! If you want to chat PM me and I will be of assistance as much as possible Take Care and good luck with the surgery and recovery!!! Is this normal?
Congrats on the band. First: don't weigh yourself every morning, second: walk walk walk, and third: make sure you are drinking all you can of Water. You WILL lose just give it time to heal. I wish you all the luck and hope you feel better as time goes on. Take Care, ANgcal26

diet pills and the band
My view is that you should try your hardest to not take diet pills, stay natural, and talk to your doc about your hunger. I am hungry the week before my monthly friend (sorry guys) and do my best to not overeat. Just remember why you are where you are and how great you look and feel when you step on the scale and lose weight. Good Luck and just say "NO" to diet pills "Die"t pills that word isn't even good. Take Care, Angcal26:thumbup:

Hair loss?
Oh make sure you eat plenty of protein!!! Your hair, skin and nails need that too!!

Hair loss?
I too have experienced hair loss and I have a lot of hair, but when I shower I see a clump in the drain. I take Biotin, 1 tablet, I bought them at GNC so I am not too sure how many miligrams it is. I have noticed that I now have small hairs popping out so I guess it is starting to grow back. I am 4 months out and have lost 60 lbs so far so I guess that is what happens. As far as I am concerned, if I lose too much hair, I will get a weave or extensions or something BUT I WILL NOT BE BALD!!!!! LOL  Good Luck!! Angcal26

Meal ideas for mushies?
As far as ff and low fat, better tastes can be achieved by herbs and other seasonings. I tend to lean toward lower fat foods because ff seem to have an after taste to me, but, obviously, some people don't eat that way. I guess you have to gauge your own weight loss and see what works best for you. Good luck to you all. Banded August 28 lost 53 lbs to date. God Bless and Have a great Thanksgiving. Angcal26

Meal ideas for mushies?
Just remember whole or multi grain breads, pastas etc... and Proteins first then the other stuff. You shouldn't eat white flour breads, at least thats what was suggested to me by my nutritionist. and everything should be fat free or low fat and watch the sugars. Good luck to ya. Angcal26

HELP! Thinking of canceling tomorrow surgery
I went through those feelings up to the time they wheeled me into surgery. I thought I can just get up and walk out of here. But I kept thinking that this is what I wanted and needed to live a happier healthy life. I talked to many people with good and bad stories, but I knew that I would work the band and it would change my life for the better forever. I am 3 months out and lost 50 lbs. I feel great no problems at all. No throwing up, PB's or sliming. I mentally had to adjust myself to thinking I was doing this to live longer with my family. I only want to lose 100 more and know that with this tool I will do it and maintain my weight loss not like before. So I ask you to dig deep inside and take the risk to be successful. With support and following your surgeon and nutritionist's advice you will succeed. Good luck and if you have any questions please private message me. Angcal26:thumbup:

Things I won't/don't miss about being Obese
I won't miss my feet swelling when I walk too much; not bringing my kids to the amusement park because I can't walk around for too long; my heel spur; bras that don't fit me properly (can't wait to shop at Victoria Secret); the dredded FAT ladies stores; wide shoes; knee and back pain. Tell you what I am looking forward to (the short list) Going Canoeing with my family this summer, swimming at the beach, boating, sitting in the seats at a ball game, coaching my daughter at soccer, riding a bike, and just being a happier person overall in my life with my family by my side. Also the SEX is sooo much better already! LOL

What is your understanding of how much food the pouch holds?
Hey, just do what your doc tells you everyone is different I don't know why but you have to listen to your body, use smaller plates to trick yourself into thinking its eating more food and my doc said no drinks 1/2 hour before and 1/2 hour after eating that included Protein shakes. Good luck to you and keep me posted on your progress. All the best, always, Andrea

What is your understanding of how much food the pouch holds?
Well, I actually do not measure my food I go by how I feel and what I estimate should be the right proportion for me. I am always running with the kids so my portions are usually small, and as long as I eat Proteins first then veges I am good. I eat 6 x's a day 3 meals and 3 small Snacks, each time I eat I usually take in 10 grams of Protein. But I try to stay away from mushy foods as they don't hold me long enough. My day is this 2 eggs, scrambled and a small wheat tortilla snack cheese stick lunch- Tofu and veges snack- fruit (no protein there) dinner- turkey burger, tomato, onion lite mayo and mustard and small wheat pita if I am really hungry or else nothing at all snack- pudding ff and sugar free of course Lots and lots of H2O I was banded on August 28 and have lost 47 lbs. forever, so far. All the best and Good Luck, Andrea :thumbup:
