  1. No, not really...I lost the baby this morning...it's my first time miscarrying. I'm on bedrest for the rest of the day and night, but they made my husband go to work when I got back from the ER...It's been a rough morning.
  2. When it came for me to learn those things in school...they sent a letter and it told parents about the video...it had to be signed and if it wasn't the child had to sit in the lunch room. I had already learned about puberty when I was 7...I started when I was 7 on mother's day lol...my mom gave me a cool book! I loved that book. I wish I could find it for a daughter I might have someday :crying:
  3. I think puberty should be taught in Elementary school (5th or 6th grade) and I think Sex ed should be taught Freshman year of high school.
  4. It's not my head...it's my heart...and it's not the conversation...it's life...it sucks
  5. My heart hurts... What is so bad about teaching both boys and girls about birth control options? or How to use condoms or dental damns...? Knowledge is power...right?
  6. I think that Sex ed doesn't talk about what could go wrong during a pregnancy...maybe if they knew more about what could go wrong...what could go wrong with the baby and/or with them..maybe they would think twice about wanting to get pregnant at a young age, without birth control, or financial support...
  7. I know right?! Sometimes it is more comfotable to have that explained to you from a teacher then your parent!
  8. I meant in practice everywhere. Yeah cause in the middle of getting excited and erect the gey's going to say "hang on baby...I need to read the direction". I think it is irresponsible to tell kids to look on the internet...our their friends. When I went to school in elementary school they seperated the girls and boys to discuss puberty (not sex)...the boys and girls watched different movies and discussed their own puberty.
  9. I'm not saying it wasn't implemented anywhere...I'm saying it wasn't everywhere. I don't agree in young kids being taught. Where I sat in they did not teach techniques or positions...and in the school district where I was at a parent could sit in on any class at anytime! Would you rather they use an erect penis? or a fake erect penis instead of a banana?
  10. I think it is a good idea to teach teens how to use a condom...and a banana or even a cucumber seems like a better thing to show it on then an actual penis?! A lot of teens don't know how to properly put on a condom so they break or don't work right. How is that something they shouldn't teach?
  11. I think it is a waste of money to fund that kind of teaching! I was just saying that he may have been funding that kind of crap, but it wasn't in practice yet so it wasn't what was making the rates drop.
  12. They aren't showing those videos in classrooms. The majority of the videos they show in the classrooms are from the 90s! Those videos are for mature teens to watch...if a parent doesn't want their teens watching that then maybe they should put blocks on their computers and have rules for the computer for their teens. In all the sex ed/sociology for Living classrooms I have been in taught factual information and didn't treat sex as a joke...just because it's on the internet doesn;t mean that's what is being taught to teens in school!!!
  13. Maybe, but there wasn't abstinence only teachings during Bush's Reign...come on! So thanks to Bush there were less teen pregnancies and abortions?
  14. So what. They're making these informational videos "funny" so that teens will actually watch them! And it does state for mature teens and adults. They're giving information and scenarios inorder for teens to sit and watch them...they're just trying to have fun while watching these videos...I thought they were silly, but they did provide some info...I don't see it as out of line.
  15. I want to be a Sociology for Living Teacher someday and I think BJean is right. we need to teach those things she listed. When I was younger I was ahead of other girls (I started my period when I was 7). When I was younger my mom sat down with me and talked about sex with me. She told me that sex is a wonderful thing. That it feels good, but that it feels best with the right man. She told me that while she knows that many girls don't she would like it if I waited for the right man. That if I feel that I can't to come to her. She will be there for me to talk or to help me find protection. She always left her door open for me, she was always there for me...and I waited. I was always open with my mom. I called my mom after I had sex (by choice) for the first time. I used protection and I was almost 18 and had been with the guy for over a year. I waited a lot longer than other girls...and I am glad that I did. I was very lucky to have a mother that was so open with me and I plan to be that open with my kids. If I ever had a question about something I could always turn to my parents without the fear that I would be judged or yelled at. My parents raised me with that kind of open door policy and I have never drank, done drugs, or had sex with lots of men at a young age (I've only had 2 partners)...
  16. Yeah, but who says that all the things you hear and read in the tabloids is real? None of us have lived in their home. And Thank you BJean. I am very lucky to have the family that I have
  17. To me this sounds like you are saying that Miss Spears wasn't raised right and she's not concerned about the well being of her child because of the way she was raised. You talk about her like she is some trailer trash that doesn't have a brain...isn't in her right mind...She seems like a very loving mother to her little girl...We all make mistakes, but that doesn't mean those mistakes should define who we are...
  18. Let me just say while in those situations they may consider getting pregnant a mistake, but not their baby. Getting pregnant can be a mistake, but a child that is born is not...I don't think politer is a word...also it is the act of have sex that is the sin/mistake...not the child themself...the act that conceived them...maybe your wording just isn't saying it right or something...Also, to all those ladies out there that didn't abort...Happy Mother's day
  19. To me this is making it sound like she thinks the baby is a mistake/sin...That's what it sounds like to me anyways
  20. Having a baby is not a sin...if those kids felt their baby was such a mistake they wouldn't have brought them into this world...if you want to call one of your kids a mistake or a sin go for it, but you have no right to call someone elses child a mistake oh and by the way you did bash Miss Spears in an earlier post...
