  1. Your story is wonderful and I do wish you luck!!! It sounds like you are really ready for this. Working on some of the issues about why you are where you are puts you far ahead of many. I'm not sure how old you are but I am sure that you are a wise woman. Again... good luck!! I'd love to keep up with your journey and your progress!! Becky
  2. Congratulations!!! It is very exciting. I wish you luck. Mine is on Sept. 12. Keep in touch!!!
  3. Thank you. Mine is 3 weeks and today was day 6. I am doing great and haven't weighed yet. See.... just hearing that you had to do it a month already makes me feel better. Thanks again for replying!
  4. For those of you who have had to go on a 2 week or 3 week pre-op diet, how much did you lose? Did you follow it strictly and was your doctor happy with the results?
  5. Dr. Hollis at True Results is doing mine. Who did yours?? Everything turn out ok?? Fun things to do in Houston while we are there before surgery??? Thanks!!!
  6. Thank you all very much!!!
  7. Thank you all very much. I am not planning on ordering chicken fingers and fries but some of the places that my family eats at have children's portions. I will take home half if I am headed home but I will ask my doctor about the card. Again - thanks for the replies!!! Becky
  8. Thank yoiu for the Tilipia receipe!! I wrote it down and can't wait to try it.
  9. My surgery is scheduled for the 12th of September and I have the same concern. Several people on here have said that they have had their procedure postponed and now I am worried about that. I am on day 5 of my 3 week pre-op diet and following it very closely. Maybe hearing those stories has helped me to be super good!! Good luck to you.
  10. Hi. I am well over 200 lbs. so I can't answer those questions, but I am having my procedure done through True Results in Houston and I have been very happy with them. They are quick, efficient, helpful, and very nice!! Good luck to you!!
  11. Thank you. That is a good idea. Just curious.. what does DH stand for?
  12. How exciting!!! I will be thinking about you tomorrow. Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.
  13. Hi auntlucy. Who makes the bullets and where do you get them. I've never heard of them and I'm making a list of post-op hints. Thanks!!
  14. You guys probably think I sit up nights thinking up goofy question - nope - they come easily to me :biggrin2: I read or heard somewhere that you can get a card after you have been banded and in most restaurants it will allow you order from the kid's menu. Also... 25% off at Souper Salad. Anyone know anything about this?
  15. I hate the insurance world. I think they make it so hard that they hope people will just say "forget it". Makes me mad and sad. They don't take care of people the way I think they should. Let me know how it goes and good luck to you.
  16. It's not bad for you is it? I know too many x-rays are not a good thing. Sounds better than just doing it and hoping. Thanks for your reply. Going to look at your jewelry now Becky
  17. I have been eating the sugar free Jello brand pudding - but is it fat free too??
  18. I keep reading about fills with fluroscopy and fills without fluroscopy. I have no idea what this means. Can anyone help me?
  19. Hi. My doctor said that I could have sugar free fat free Jello pudding during my pre-op diet. I can find sugar free in the stores. Is there such a thing as sugar free AND fat free that you can buy or does that mean you have to make it with skim milk. Also after surgery, I have read both skim milk and lowfat milk - I can do 1% but skim is kinda like white water to me. If I have to do skim I will. I'm sure my doctor will tell me when I go down for my procedure but I was wondering what you all know about this. Also - after surgery - cereal??? Thanks in advance for your replies!! I love this site!!!
  20. Hi. I am in Albuquerque too. Your questions have probably been answered but I too have Blue Cross/Blue Shield. They would've covered my surgery but boy do they make you do a lot. I understand why they do.... but...... Anyway.... I am lucky enough to have family who is helping me pay for my procedure. I am going to Houston. I would love to hear how you are doing!!!! Good luck!!
  21. Actually it has gone very fast because I am paying for it and not using insurance. I went in for my initial consultation on August 13th and I will have it done Sept. 12th. I just finished day 4 of my pre-op diet.
  22. I am having surgery with Dr. Hollis in September (12th). Any updates? I like the office and have lots of help from nice people. Let me know how it went.
  23. Welcome!!! I am pretty new too. My surgery is scheduled for September 12. I live in Albuquerque New Mexico and am having the procedure done in Houston Texas. You are going to love this site. Everyone is so nice and so helpful. You can ask ANY question and someone will have information to share. I am sooo glad that I found it. Good luck and hope to see you on here often!!! Becky
  24. Oh yes... I just finished day4 of my 3 week pre-op diet and before I started I had some foods that I might not have for a long time... or never. I didn't go crazy and eat everything or eat all day and night.. but.. I live in New Mexico and LOVE hot hot chile. Green and red. Also had some shrimp. My mom called me the night before I started the pre-op diet and asked me what I was having for my "last supper". The pre-op hasn't been so bad and I don't mind the Atkins Advantage shakes at all. But then... it's pretty obvious... I'm not a picky eater!
  25. Thank you lolo. It is hot here and I am going to keep drinking it. I can drink a lot more of that than plain water!! Good luck to you and thanks again for your reply!
