I keep reading about fills with fluroscopy and fills without fluroscopy. I have no idea what this means. Can anyone help me?

A fluroscopy is an x-ray type test. You swallow a bit of barium and they watch it as it goes down your esophagus and through your band. It will tell the doctor how restricted you are. My doctor has the machine in his office so he uses it whenever there is a question about whether one is too tight or not.

I don't know about the fluroscopy being bad for you....maybe if you had 10 a month or something!? I've been banded 15 months and have only had 2. They aren't really necessary...just helpful.
