Any September Banders?
Wow Bobbie, sorry you are feeling so tired. I was banded on the 22nd of September and I feel back to my old self with the exception of port soreness. Each day seems to get a lot easier. You might want to talk to your doctor and let him know you are so tired. I don't think this is normal, but then again others may be experiencing the same thing as you. It will be interesting to hear what other LBer's experiences have been so far. I hope it gets better for you soon. Hang in there.

Poll - Democrat or Republican?
- Poll - Democrat or Republican?
What? Are you kidding me. Wow, I always thought you weren't wrapped to tight when I read your prior posts on other threads, but after that comment I am that completly conviced that you aren't wrapped to tight.- Poll - Democrat or Republican?
Ok, enough with the conversations on the stumpy arms issue. I will still use it to describe him so you’re beating a dead horse. I understand you are upset with it and I get it. We all have our thoughts about the candidates and we know we have real issues of concern. Can we move on to more substantive issues please?:cursing:- Poll - Democrat or Republican?
Wow, you are waaaay out there. I'm not in line with anything you've just stated.:cursing:- Poll - Democrat or Republican?
What are you talking about? I don't understand.- Poll - Democrat or Republican?
How is calling Obama out on his differences racism. He is a black man running for President. Are you saying the fact that he is black and someone saying he is black is racist? My description of McCain is just that, a description of his physical characteristics. If you feel it is name calling that is your right to feel what you feel. You might just have to work through getting past that or not.- Poll - Democrat or Republican?
You see what the facts are. Just look at the news. Enough said.- Poll - Democrat or Republican?
There is nothing low about it. Truth is truth. Deal with it or don't. Just because you don't agree doesn't change the fact. Yes, it is unfortunate that this happend to him during that time. I usually don't call people out on their physical differences, but this is one person that I must. You can say what you want and feel what you feel. It doesn't change a thing for me.:cool2:- PLEASE HELP ME , I NEED YOUR TIPS,Who Did it in Mexico, I knew none of this
Wow, I am surprised with all of the throwing up that your band has not slipped. You have been lucky if it hasn't. I would recommend finding a doctor and go see him immediately.- Poll - Democrat or Republican?
Well seeing as stumpy arms got that way by being and tortured, I find it ironic that he is so eager to keep fighting the war in Iraq for as long as it takes and sending our women and men to fight a war that we never should have been fighting in the first place. He has a bad temper and likes playing war with other peoples lives. He is quick to snap to a judgment without thinking things through. Look how he said "stop everything" including the debate so we can concentrate on the bail out crisis. Apparently, he can only focus on one thing at a time. I am glad Obama called him out on the fact that the commander and chief has to be able to focus on more than one thing at a time. His judgment is extremely questionable. Some conservative republicans are already starting to admit that Sarah Palin needs to drop out and questioning McCain’s judgment. She is a joke. Jack, I think your views fall in line with the old establishment. We need new leadership with new ideas. Out with the old ways that haven’t been working. Let’s try something new.- Poll - Democrat or Republican?
Sarah Palin has no clue. Why don't the repubs let her speak to us? Are they scared? Saturday Night Live didn't even have to make up a skit to make fun of her. They used her actual words to do it. That is very scary. McCain still shows he is nothing more than an all over the place war monger. He is too old and his judgment to put someone as ridiculous and Sarah Palin as his second in command demonstrates his extremely poor lack of judgment. He is angry and is not level headed enough to deal with the issues we have facing our country. We can't go everywhere and declare war on everyone who doesn't do as we say. We have to be able to unite with others. We need to improve our standing in the world instead of continue alienating ourselves. He claims he loves the vets. Well most of the vets I know don't love him and think he is a liar. He hasn't supported them the way he claims he has. The fact that he can't look at his opponent while in a debate tells me there are some severe underlying issues McCain is harboring. He is running to represent all people not just the few. I cannot take a possible four years of looking at his short stumpy arms and chipmunk face or dealing with the soccer mom's mentality who has no clue as to what the hell is going on in the real world outside of the little bubble she lives in and her voice OMG!!!!- Wanting my band out :(
What makes you say "if you knew then what you know now, you probably would not have the surgery"?:bolt:- Banded and very very sore...
Congratulations! I was banded on Monday and it is 5 days post op for me and I feel great. The first two days were the worst but by Wednesday, I was feeling back to normal with a little soreness on my belly. I gets better and better each day. Hang in there.- 3 days post-op: my experience
I too was banded on Sept 22nd. The first three days were the hardest but not unbearable. Today I have only had a slight pain on my left side. Not sure what it is because I took a gas X and that didn't seem to touch it. I have eaten very little and not trying to push it. I am able to drink liquids pretty well. I haven't had any problems with that. I've been taking my pain meds every 4 hours but will start weaning myself off of them tomorrow. Other than that I don't feel like I have a band. I hope this continues. Wishing you all the best on your band journey.- 1 day post op and scared
I almost started to vomit right out of surgery, but the nurse put a alcohol swab in front of my nose and it stopped the feeling of needing to throw up. It worked.- Why Don't We Give A Little Update Where We're At
received my band on Monday, Sept. 22nd. I was feeling better than I thought I would, but Tuesday was rough. I finally feel pretty good today and should feel great tomorrow. I haven't had any gas pains mostly nausea and soreness in my abdomen. I was also feeling extremely sleepy. I took my dogs for a walk around the park and that felt great. I was finally able to get down a quarter cup of pureed chicken noodle soup. I haven't been hungry but need to get something in. Other than that everything is going well and I hope it continues.- Any September Banders?
Banded yesterday, Sept 22 and no problems. Actually feeling pretty good.- Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Hey Dr. Kirshenbaum samurais
Well thank you all for the well wishes. Everything went very well. I woke up this morning surprisingly not nervous at all. Got to the surgery center at 7:30. The receptionist was great. You should not bring anything of value. Do not wear any jewelry because they put all your things in a plastic bag and take the bag away. Not sure where they take it. During the 1 1/2 hours of the wait, they started my IV and gave me all the medications I was going to need for the surgery Also I met with both doctors. It went by very fast. Then they rolled me out to the operating room and moved me onto another table. There were about six people in the room including two of his students. They didn't ask me to count down or anything I think they just added the medicine and I just feel asleep. The next thing I knew they are waking me up and asking me to sip some ice cubes. That's when I slowing started to feel the pain from the surgery. Not unbearable, but that’s when it sank in that I had made it though the surgery. My mom came and picked me up and they wheeled me out in a wheel chair. My surgery started at 9:20 and I left to go home 12:45. I was up a walking and sipping with no real problems. I tried to eat a piece of hard candy but my stomach didn't like that too much so I will just be sipping water for today. It feels better to sit upward and also to walk around. It seems when you do the pain is less noticeable. I'm doing great so far. I'm glad I went for it. My scars aren't too bad. I am swollen but other than that I thought it would be much much worse that what it has been so far. Good luck to all of you with surgeries coming up. I will be thinking of you. Be sure to post so we know how your surgery went. As far as the Dinner invitation, I would have loved to go, but I came down to Colorado Springs to recuperate so I won't even be in Denver. I would have loved to meet you all. Maybe going forward we can try to meet up so we can be of support to each other since were getting our bands so close to the same time- Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Hey Dr. Kirshenbaum samurais
I made it!- surgeries September 22
Well I made it. I seem to be doing pretty good. Just stomach pain. I have only been able to tolerate sipping water. I tried to eat a piece of hard candy, but as soon as I did I almost threw up. My stomach did not like that so I will just to water for tonight. I don't have any gas pains and have been doing a good share of walking. Everything is great so far. I hope everyone else is doing well also. Check in so we know.- Any September Banders?
Well tomorrow morning I get my band. I am getting all my last minute things done. Wishing everyone getting banded this week a successful surgery and speedy recovery!- surgeries September 22
Oh Teri, How sweet you are. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers for all of us! How thoughful of you. I have a tear coming through. I wish everyone a safe surgery and a quick successful recovery.- What did you put on your scars after surgery?
Thanks for the info.- Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Hey Dr. Kirshenbaum samurais
Thank you for the good wishes for me on Monday. I am getting nervous but also ready to get the show on the road. I am going to get some fruit juices and a heating pad. I am still looking into what Protein drinks to get. I think I will still get Gax X even though doc doesn't think I will need it (back up plan). Other than that I guess I will deal with things as they come up. I will let you know exactly what happends on the day of surgery with Dr. K so you will better prepared with what to expect. - Poll - Democrat or Republican?
