Anyone still visiting? It's been pretty quiet. Hope everyone is still working on the new life. It's very easy to feel cured. Kinda like a heart bypass patient. For the first year or so, they're on pins and needles at the first twinge or hint of pain. After that, some go back to the old ways thinking they are cured.... a bad thought process. While we are feeling better and reaping rewards for our efforts, it can be just as easy to fall back on old ways. Take care, beware and good health to all!

I have found Protein2o and Gatorade zero with protein. The Protein2o I usually find in the supermarkets in the whole/organic foods or pharmacy areas. They go for around $2 to $3 each. Quite a few flavor choices. The Gatorade is a little bit harder to find and stores can be quite proud of it. Premier Protein clear can be found on Amazon. Actually, they all can be found on Amazon. Good luck!

Anyone else doing this in their 60's?

Had sleeve last this past December at 66. Just getting back into running and strength training. I officiate football and lacrosse. Slowly moving back to both. I have no regrets, best decision I could have made for myself. Dropped diabetes meds day after surgery and down to one BP med (soon to be none). The golf will be a great source of strength and conditioning. Good luck on this journey! -

Arrrgh !!!! All the clothes I put because they "shrunk," have suddenly increased in size to the point they just hang there sizes too big. Seriously not a complaint. 2 1/2 months out and I feel great. Off my diabetes meds. Down to one (soon to be none) blood pressure med. Getting back into running and biking. Hope everyone is feeling fantastic!

Is there any “tasteless’” protein powder?

Isopure Whey Protein Isolate comes in an unflavored variety. I've mixed with water, milk and kool aid type drinks. Also protein water like Premier Protein clear or Protein2O are pretty good alternatives. -
Had sleeve in December - Age 66 Wish I had done it sooner. No problems encountered so far.

Coffee seems blah now. I've started to drink Green Tea (lemon & Ginseng) again. Seems to taste better.

Pain at site where stomach was removed
Voogs replied to gojackets's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I ended up with a total of 6 incisions. The lower left was/is the one that still causes a little pain 2 weeks out. The bruising is a site to behold. Finally starting to fade. It does get better as those who have gone before us have said. Best wishes and Happy New Year / New You! -

Had my sleeve on the 14th. Just about all of the pain is gone or minimal. Moving on to a liquid/pureed diet this week. Congratulations to all who have gone through the door. If you're getting close and having second thoughts, remember that we all had those thoughts. But you've worked hard to get here and final steps are just a few. Your future is on the other side of the door. Step through and begin your new life. -
Doing pretty good so far. On day 5 post op. For some reason I couldn't get warm yesterday (no fever) . Went to be early with a weighted blanket. That finally warmed me up. I tried the warmed up premier protein shake yesterday (chocolate peanut butter). What a difference that made. Hope everyone is doing well.
-
I'll have to try that myself.

It's official!😀 I am on for tomorrow the 14th. Been doing liquid diet since November 25th. I am so ready. I had prepped myself if it was cancelled. There was an omelet in my near future. Now it will be in the distant future but well worth the wait. Good luck and good health. Tomorrow starts a bright future!

Got the dreaded call again yesterday. Perhaps going to cancel me yet again. Surgery is slated for the 14th, they will let me know tomorrow the 13th. They're making it hard for me to love them. 🙄. Hate being in limbo.
