  1. I wasn't warned about the insomnia, so I'm glad to hear that it's normal. I feel the same as you, tired but not sleepy.
  2. I am kinda out of it most of the time, and not sleeping worth crap.
  3. Most people are still on full liquids at your stage. Your tummy needs time to recover. That said, I'd be more worried about the urge to eat and echo others concerns that you need to talk with a therapist.
  4. My blood pressure is all over the map. This morning low, yesterday high, varying up and down through the day. It's hard to know when/if to take the meds.
  5. Did you do okay? I've heard lots of people don't do well with bread items. It sounds wonderful!
  6. I want to thank everyone for sharing their struggles, it really helps.
  7. Thanks for this. It really helps to know I'm not alone.
  8. I went from 198 SW to 184. Those aren't gaudy numbers but considering my goal is 63 pounds lost, not bad when I look at it. I'll do what everyone is suggesting and stay off the scale for awhile. This is something that I've struggled with, not letting the number on the scale determine my mood or feelings of self-worth.
  9. I am just two weeks post-op and have weighed the exact same for 4 days. I am following my program, and feel extremely discouraged at this point. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm feeling like it was all for nothing.
  10. Since I'm older, not sure what I would like to happen to my boobs. I'm afraid if I lose too much there they will be more saggy than they are presently. I also have about 60+ pounds to lose, so maybe it won't be too drastic. But I'm saving up for a boob job and tummy tuck!
  11. Yes, I bought it online.
  12. I was having a lot of boob sweat which caused redness and rash (this was prior to surgery). I live in Texas so I understand the heat. I got a cream called Carpe No-Sweat Breast and it really helped. It kept the area a lot drier and eliminated that odor, eventually my redness, itching and rash resolved.
  13. How do cook them? I'm wary about oil or butter.
  14. Does it make you crazy that every doctor has a different view?
  15. My doctor is okay with coffee, but I tried it and it didn't taste good to me. I'm having a 1/2 cup of black tea in the morning, plus herbal tea other times and it seems fine. I do eyeing my espresso maker, like baby, I'll be back someday!
  16. I stopped mine after surgery as my doctor worries about dehydration. However, I feel bloated and my BP is running high, so I'd really like to get back on it.
  17. I'm 9 days post, started pureed foods yesterday. I get being scared to eat. I'm still kinda swollen so feel fatter than surgery day! But doc said that was normal. Maybe it's all the failed diets I've been on, I'm putting a lot of pressure on myself to succeed, and quickly.
  18. Had the same on Tuesday. Feel pretty good except for swelling. I think the hernia repair is part of that. So far recovery is better than expected. Best of luck!
  19. Now I see why they are telling me to eat at the table with no distractions. It's too easy to overeat or drink watching TV or playing games. Part of relearning, I guess.
  20. Anything ending in "itol" will send me straight to the bathroom. Those are sugar alcohols and have a laxative effect. Any other artificial sweeteners taste like metal to me but I can tolerate them if necessary. I won't eat jello, though, as it's not vegetarian.
  21. Thanks so much for this. My date is August 23, so I'm soaking up everything I can.
  22. I am also looking to wear a pencil skirt, great white shirt (tucked in!!) and heels. That's my dream outfit.
  23. My date is also August 16, for a gastric bypass. I will also have my hernia repaired at that time. I don't envy you having to go back to school so quickly, hopefully you'll have no effects and will have your energy up.
  24. Good for you! I've ordered my bariatric vitamins, pre-surgery drinks, protein powder and drinks. I'm getting nervous, too. I'll probably be second-guessing myself up to the last minute!
  25. Hi, everyone! I am scheduled for my RNY August 16.
