    August surgery buddies!

Today is 8 months since surgery. I am hovering at my goal weight which I hit 3 days ago. I have gone from size 16-18 to 4-6. I am beyond psyched. I celebrated by buying my first pair of running shoes, so that's the next thing. I already have a date for a tummy tuck in August. Hope everyone is doing well!

    So depressed about my hair

I've list at least half of my hair, maybe more. The loss has slowed down, now have these weird little hairs (someone said chicken hairs, I like that). I think I'm going to cut it short, look at wigs.

So happy for you! It must have been so hard for you.

Oh, yes, that's a big day! I'm getting close to healthy BMI but now it's really crawling by slowly.

    August surgery buddies!

Hi, 5 months today! I've lost 55 pounds,18 to go. I ve tracking everything every day, but gotten a little lazy about it in the last week, so I need to get back on it. Do you realize that every new person we meet won't have known us as fat? That sorta blows my mind.

Yes, that was a big deal to me to be just overweight! Obese is just such an ugly word.

    August surgery buddies!

My goal was to lose 63 pounds in the first year, but I've already lost 54. I'm 8 pounds away from getting into the healthy BMI range. (I should tell you I'm 5'2" and a small frame, my surgery weight was 198.) It's slowing down but not stopping, like 10ths of pounds at a time. I'd like to eventually lose about 20 pounds from where I am now. It blows me away that if you met me now you would just see me as an average woman who could lose a few pounds, but certainly not as an obese or even particularly overweight person.

    August surgery buddies!

I'm trying to look at it like this: I may be stalled, but on the other hand I made it through all the holidays without gaining, I'm actually a couple of pounds down from before Thanksgiving. Now when in my life have I ever done that? Here's to a great New Year for all of us! We have taken such a giant step towards our health goals this year. Think of where we all were last year at this time! Best to all of you ❤.

You're doing great! Someone who hadn't seen me for quite awhile honestly thought my husband had a new wife (I also grew my hair longer. ) Good thing they caught on before they started criticizing the old wife!

That's just great! Every week I take some more clothes to the thrift shop, and that continues even during a stall (like the last two weeks). And you're in the 100 club, too. Congrats!

    I cheated - now what?

I doubt it. Do your best. This will change after surgery as the amount you can take in goes WAY down and your cravings will likely disappear.

I don't have a smart watch yet but I think I'm getting one for Christmas. Meanwhile, is it possible to set up a small group for those of us here that are willing to share in some way?

Good for you! That's quite a milestone. I've lost nearly 40, it seems to follow 5 pounds, then a stall, repeat. I'd like to have lost more, but I don't have as much to lose as many people, so I have to factor that in.

I'm starting, too. Not in clumps but a lot in my brush.

    Carbs yes or no

Same here. I know I started feeling more energetic and even happier when I started eating more veggies. There are carbs and then there are carbs, it's a big pot of good and bad. I look at it like this. Some, like sugary drinks or desserts, are red light, I just eliminate them. Some are okay in small amounts, like pasta, rice and bread, those are yellow light. Some, like greens and non starchy vegetables, are green light. I thought I could never live without my homemade bread, or pasta, but honestly, I'm fine with tiny portions or not at all.

I am 8 weeks out as well. I've lost 29 pounds but can't see it at all, either. I am down about a size, though. I'm not too worried about body dysmorphia yet. I'll be concerned if I lose all the weight I'm shooting for and still think I am fat. I had a roommate in college exactly like that, in the days before we knew what eating disorders were. I was stalled for 3 weeks, then lost 5, now stalled again. Frustrating, but I guess normal. I agree it's helpful to have others going through the same process. I spend a lot of time here and on Reddit.

Doing well, 8 weeks tomorrow. Lost about 25 pounds, no problems of any kind other than fatigue and lack of energy, but that suddenly changed about a week ago and feel great now.

It hasn't started coming out in handfuls, but I'm seeing more on my brush. Thank goodness I have thick hair to start.

I had my bypass the 23rd. I've been stalled, too, so frustrating, but I'm down 20 lbs. Sure doesn't look like it, though

    August surgery buddies!

I just hit my first real stall at one month post-op. I had asked my husband to hide the scale so I wouldn't obsess and only weigh weekly. Got on the scale Saturday and I hadn't lost a single ounce from the previous week. I was expecting 3-5 lbs. So discouraged.

That helps ease my mind. I've also always been a slow liser despite doing everything right.

    Under Boob rash

I had tried regular deodorant under my boots but it itched horribly. This stuff cleared that up, thanks.
