  1. You are doing so well, congratulations!!!! I loved your story and indeed, what a NSV it is!!!! Mimi
  2. I was just wincing in pain, too, from port pain, only thing is I wasn't slinging around big bags like you....I haven't a clue how I pulled that muscle. Please let us know what the doctor said. Mimi
  3. It was great to read your post...I am thrilled with how well you are doing and am jealous about your tight muscles. My PS didn't do that because my port was in the way and he wouldn't touch it. Rest up and I will look forward to more posts as you heal. Mimi
  4. Thanks for the follow up. Mimi
  5. I think the more often the better. I go back and look at them frequently to keep myself motivated. Interestingly, now that I am at goal it is even MORE important for me to look at pictures so I know that I really have accomplished something and don't want to go back to where I was. Sometimes pictures tell a story that a mirror doesn't!!!! Mimi
  6. Good luck, Whillow. The search for our individual "sweet spot" can be long and difficult. Mimi
  7. Thanks for the update, hubby!!!!! I have been wondering all day how she is doing. Give her my best wishes. Mimi
  8. I hate where my port is...right midriff. Looks like a golf ball or alien trying to break through!!!!! When I am sure I am doing well maintaining I am going to have it moved and replaced with a smaller port. Mimi
  9. Wanna, I will be thinking of you all day. Best wishes!!! Mimi
  10. I agree with Tchr, a week is long enough for fill swell to diminish. Please see your doctor. Mimi
  11. Bands can be fickle and none one can explain the reason why. I have read many posts saying the same thing you have said and it happens to me that way, too. Best wishes, Mimi
  12. I am so sorry for your suffering. 2 wks ago I asked my PS to do this surgery and he said no, he won't do them because of the complications. I would like to have my inner thighs jiggle joggle gone but do not want to suffer. Best wishes, Mimi
  13. It is rare to get good restriction from the first fill. Also, some ppl don't feel their fill for a few days. You are allowed to be hungry!!!!!! The band is not meant to make you totally not want to eat. Best wishes, Mimi
  14. NO, GD, you are not weird. I have all kinds of fears before a fill. Will they be nice to me, will they put the right amount in, will they give me any, will I have to see the doc (I hate him), will I be too tight, will I shut down, etc, etc, etc!!!!! Mimi
  15. AND I would be seeking a lawyer for patient abandonment!!!!! Mimi
  16. Be honest with your doctor about your concerns. It is possible that they can give you a very small fill to try out a new restriction level. Good luck. Mimi
  17. Even though or maybe because I am at goal, I am a scale whore, still yet. My doc doesn't subtract for clothes/shoes and it is always after at least one meal and coffee that I am being weighed in....and that is often at least 6 pounds different from my 1st weigh in in the morning. I wish they subtacted for clothes and shoes!!! Makes me feel like I must be way below goal to get a decent weigh in!!!! Mimi
  18. You have done well, congratulations!!!! Mimi
  19. I use 1/2 a shot twice a day in Crystal light and my hair has stopped thinning. Some posters are not fond of them, but I am. I credit them with my good recovery from Plastic Surgery. I also believe in the whey isolate powders and found a cookies and cream that is so delicious I look forward to drinking it. How many CC's restriction do you have? Do you think a tiny unfill would help you tolerate food better? Best wishes, Mimi
  20. Oh, yes, I see his reasoning. Please let me know if he recommends anything later? Mimi
  21. Hi, Niki. I am doing well. I had an emergency unfill Monday and have gained 8 pounds...I know I was really dehydrated and hadn't been eating much for a week, so most of the wt gain was expected. Probably a pound or so is belly swell, which is kind of all over the lower belly. I am glad your drain removal went so well. Now that I am used to the body briefer/onesie I really enjoy them and feel well supported. The glue and scab has come off my incision line, which makes me feel better. I am going to start back with my personal trainer Tuesday, mostly legs and arms and light core/ab work. I haven't exercised since the end of December and am looking forward to restoring lost muscle mass and getting back my cardio endurance. Mimi
  22. Niki, I am glad you are doing so well. Your shopping experience sounds delightful. Did your PS recommend and scar lotion or porion? Mimi
  23. Thanks for the updates, Allie. Have fun at the ball. Mimi
  24. There was even a poster on here that's PS didn't believe in ANY binders!!!! My PS just said he doesn't believe in tight compression, didn't really say why. I spent the day out shopping for 2 more onesies now that I know they can be so comfortable!!!! I just posted my drain free pictures. My drainage was 15cc/24hrs when he took the drain out, but remember, I didn't have as radical a surgery as you did. I have been upright since day one. I think what I had was closer to a simple panniculectomy than a TT. When I woke up this morning I was pretty flat but within a half hour had started swelling some even with the onesie girdle on. I have read that this swelling can go on for months, I hope not but I am mentally prepared if need be. Mimi
  25. I, too, have lived with a too tight band because I was afraid they would take too much out. Sunday I shut down completely and had to go for an emergency unfill, and you guessed it, they wanted to take it all!!!! I refused so we compromised and I am much too comfortable now!!!! I ate at a buffett last night and got my money's worth!!!! I will have to go back to journaling my cals so I don't gain too much til my next fill. Best wishes, Mimi
