Hi, I am 33 years old and live in Harrisburg, PA. I was banded April 3, 2009. Within 30 days I was down 22 pounds and over the next few months I lost about 10 more. Then about Oct of 09 I hit a wall. I started to crave more sweets like cookies, and cakes. Things I never really ate before my surgery. Now in the last 5 months I have not lost anything, I gained like 2 pounds back. I find that now when I eat if I get full after a few bits, I then start to spread that meal or whatever Im eating out over like an hour period till I done. I use to be excited about the band but now I am not because I can not seem to help the cravings and I try to eat anything I can. I want to get back on the right track, but need some suggestions and support on what I can try to do to get back on track how I was in the beginning... Thanks!!!

Has anyone experience this?? I got banded in April 09 I got my third fill Aug 06 (4 1/2 cc), just this week it has been really hard for me to get any food down, even eggs I struggle with. Anything other than liquid texture I can not keep down. Now this was not like this when I got the fill it just started 3 weeks after the fill. Now I have a tightness in my throat and it seems really sore, tight, and tender.. Has anyone experiennce this or know why the change..

Thanks guys for your responses. I guess I was asking when do u start to feel more restriction. I lost thirty pounds the first 4 weeks and since things have been slow.. I've had two fills already with a total of 4cc and I only lost about 4 pounds since I started receiving the fills. Starting to get frustrated because I do eat right and exercise.

How many fills does it take until you really start to notice the weight loss?

I am going to call doctor in the morning but today is my third day post op and i just started to notice a lil blood in my urine..I read up on it and it said some causes can be from certain medications like blood thinners, aspirin and penicilin...They did give me blood thinners twice while in the hospital but has anyone else experience this..thanks

That is what im scared of is messing up my port

I got my surgery two days ago and I have been sleeping on my back. After while that starts to get uncomfortable because I am not use to sleeping that way the whole nite. Does any one now if its alright to sleep on my side only being two days post op? Thanks!!

Tommorow is my surgery date and im soooo scared especially cause different family members are just as worried and saying when u wake up u can always change ur mind.....my boyfriend is so upset something may happen

Can you get an infection from the lapband

My doctor does not require us to do a preop diet. When I ask they said no, there facility does not require that. I've been reading all the posting that say it is better to have your liver shrink b4 surgery. Well my surgery is on friday April 3. Do u think from today til friday is enough time to reduce the size of my liver some? And if so what suggestions do u have as far as meals or meal replacement. Thanks for ur help
