  1. I'm not eating too much, but maybe too fast. I just took 2 bites of refried beans and the hiccups are back. I'll try going even slower.
  2. I'm at the end of my 1st week of pureed food. Every time I eat something like scrambled eggs, tuna, something with a little texture, I get the hiccups. Also, I experienced the foamies with the tuna salad. Is this common?

  9. Dsy 7 post op. I'm feeling pretty good. I've now been able to sleep in my bed the last two nights and that feels wonderful. The scale is finally moving in the right direction and I'm down 58lbs from the beginning of my journey. It's still a little hard to bend down but I'm working on that a little at a time. Still on my liquid diet for 1 more week until i see my dietician. I had a hard day with that two days ago but yesterday, I was back to being ok. Hoping for us all a speedy recovery and of those who still waiting for your day, best of luck!
  10. I'm still on the liquid diet. Saw my surgeon today. He's pleased with my progress but no pureed food till the 19th. Besides the shakes, jello, broth and Popsicles, I also have protein 20 water and Gatorade with protein.
  11. I just had both done 10/5. I'm doing great. Gas pressure is gone and pain is minimal. Haven't had any pain meds since day 2
  12. Day 4 post op. Feeling better every day. Kept my binder off after my morning shower and so far, it doesn't feel too bad. I have my 1st surgeon appointment tomorrow post op. The only thing is that I do have a little swelling in my feet and have gained a few pounds since surgery. I know the weight is fluid but don't know how long this usually last. Has this happened to anyone else?
  13. Day 2 post op... really tired, so I'm sleeping quite abit, and haven't taken any pain meds since last night. Still pretty sore when i get up and down especially where the stomach came out on my right side. The nausea has been little to none. I'm feeling blessed and so happy i made this decision.

  20. I have my surgery date again. Oct 5th. I guess there was a mix up with insurance, but all paperwork is signed. I have my pre-assessment Thursday with anesthesia and will start my 1 week liquid diet next week. When I first started this new season of my life, I thought waiting for surgery was going to be awful, but it wasn't. The summer flew by, I was able to do alot of research and joined this support group. And best of all, I've lost 45lbs so far. Congrats to those who also have October dates. Thanks to everyone who post and shares their stories as it has me more prepared and a little less anxious for my upcoming day.
  21. My surgery is coming up but the surgeons staff said it does help with coughing, standing, etc. I'm hoping so.
  22. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. Mine was to be sept 27th but insurance delayed. It should either be Oct 4th or the 25th. I have an appt Thursday and hope to find out then.
  23. My surgeon puts it on after surgery.
  24. Uggg... got a call earlier this week and my surgery team said I have to wait the full 6 months for surgery. So now, it looks like late October. I remain grateful though as I'm blessed to have insurance.
