  1. I like Premier Protien. I am 1 1/2 years into my journey and I still drink 1 or 2 a day. I have in my fridge now chocolate, cookies and cream, Cafe latte, pumpkin pie, birthday cake, winter mint chocolate, and caramel. Since i keep a variety, i don't get tired of them. Makes it nice when you are busy and you can just grab one and go.
  2. October 5, 2022 was my surgery date. Forward one year and it has been wonderful. Got on the scale today and was at 198. So not only did I finally get to "onederland" but have lost 163lbs. My bmi is 28 opposed to 50+. I couldn't have done it without my bariatric team, friends and family cheering me along the way. I'm so thankful and even though I still want to lose about 25 lbs, I find it amazing with the tool of gastric sleeve, my life has changed so much.
  3. I am pleased with the sleeve. 10 months out and a loss of 152lbs. I have severe acid reflux prior to surgery and a gi bleed. Was on ppi for at least 7 years. After surgery, no reflux at all and off all meds for it.
  4. I have been on mounjaro now for about 5 weeks now. I'm 10 months out now and down 151lbs. Not sure how long I'll stay on it but also pre diabetic. Still not sure what I think about it, but decided to see if I could tell a difference. So far, not really.
  5. I know it's summer but one thing i did was make my regular chili recipe. (I like rotel in mine). After simmering, I used my immersion blender and pureed it. Was yummy and helped that wanting for "real" food.
  6. Wow!! Congrats on your determination and successes. You'll be there before you know it.
  7. Thanks all for the encouragement!!
  8. Its been a little more than 9 months since I had gastric sleeve surgery and not a day goes by that I am pleased that I made this decision. I'm down 141lbs and feel great. To anyone thinking about if it's worth it, absolutely yes for me! I've got about 40 more lbs to go but I know I'll get there. I'm greatful that I have great support from my bariatric team, family, friends and my exercise girls at the gym... you all make this easier for me.
  9. The 115lbs is from starting my journey may 2022. I have lost about 65lbs since my surgery. I'm still going to question why doing anything more. Even though I still want to lose, I'm not in a race to do it. Thanks for the input.
  10. Had anyone's surgeon recommend also taking injections? I'm at my 6 month post op, 115lbs down and would like to lose about 60lbs. I was surprised when he mentioned this without any reserve at all. Just wondering if this is the new normal?
  11. Today is 6 months post op and I am down 115lbs. I'm so happy I made this decision and even though my mom had a stroke Feb 28th and I spent almost a month in the hospital with her, I had my protien drinks and ate just small amounts of whatever best choice I could make. Only lost 5lbs that month, but back to my normal routine.
  12. My surgery was Oct 5th, but I started my weight loss May 9th. Down 105lb but I still rely on a protein shake a day to get my protein in. I use either premier protein or fairlife, like them both. I have had a few stalls along the way but eventually a few pounds come off. Overall, so happy I had this done and wished I would've done it sooner.
  13. I agree with Old Salt. I wished I'd have done it years ago. Almost 4 months post op and the healing process was easy for me... no problems.
  14. Thanks for the encouragement. Truely appreciated. ?
  15. I saw my surgeon today for my 3 month check up. I'm down 92lbs since starting my journey 8 months ago. He says I'm doing great but I kinda expected to be over 100 lbs by now. I'll just keep doing what he says and he assures me I will get there. Patience!! (what's that) LOL I also had a recent non-scale victory... bought 2 pairs of regular knee high boots and they zipped! Woohoo.
  16. Ashleydasley...great job. I'm almost exactly where you are, including beginning weight and now. I hit a stall at 3 weeks for about 10 days and then boom, down 8lbs.. it's crazy but I just keep doing what I'm suppose to and I think the next time I hit a stall I won't be so freaked out. Went out for lunch today with my mom and was actually able to put on an old pair of jeans that zipped. Haven't worn any pants like that for years.
  17. One month post-op. Saw my surgeon and dietician today. Everything was good and had been able to move on to phase 3, soft foods. Total loss 74lbs since may, 21lbs post-op. I'm very happy but I have recently hit that stall that alot of you talk about. I just keep doing what I know to be right and I know it'll be ok and soon the weight will start coming off again. Overall, the 1st month wasn't too bad.
  18. It may be similar but my dietician is ok with complex carbs, but the fats are restricted. I believe that Keto allows alot more fats.
  19. Hang in there girl. You're almost there! I'm 3 weeks post op and things are looking up. I'm still on a pureed diet, but still really not that hungry anyway. This too shall pass ?
  20. Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and experiences about this. I'll be more mindful while eating.
  21. Mine started the 1st bite of food too. It's pretty loud but I just laugh. Still happy with my decision.
  22. Slowing down did help. It took me 30 min for my lunch.
  23. Thanks for the suggestions.
