You have just had major surgery. Please dont push your body to do more than is comfortable. Chances are the pain is emanating from the anchor stitch that the surgeon put in. Take the Tylenol four times a day to lay a basis in which the stronger medications can work from.
You will also still be swollen from the surgery. Give it time. Always check in with the surgeon to be reassured.
    Hope you feel better soon.

Possum220 reacted to Alex Brecher in SCAM ALERT: Beware of Tijuana Coordinator BILL YANEZ and DR. JALIL ILLAN at HOSPITAL BC!
I have recently received alarming reports from patients who have sent deposits or paid in full for surgeries in Tijuana to a patient coordinator named Bill Yanez. He is now working once again as a coordinator for Dr. Jalil Illan in Tijuana.
Please exercise extreme caution when dealing with Dr. Jalil Illan at BC Hospital and coordinators Bill Yanez. They have a history of financial misconduct, having embezzled significant sums of money from me during their tenure as coordinators at BariatricPal Hospital/BC Hospital. Furthermore, I have personally experienced severe surgical complications under the care of Dr. Illan, who botched my surgery not once but twice.
There are many reputable and trustworthy options for bariatric surgery in Mexico. Please do not risk your health and finances by entrusting them to a surgeon and coordinators with a track record of dishonesty and malpractice.
If these individuals have victimized you, I urge you to report them to your local authorities and the FBI. Their actions are unethical and illegal, and they will face the consequences of their actions in due course.
Stay safe, everyone. Let's look out for each other and ensure we all have access to safe, reliable, and ethical medical care.

No regrets. I am doing things now, I couldn't do for years. I told someone the other day, I finally feel free. Because before I was living in my own prison. WLS held the key. I am only 3 months out and still have a ways to go but even the 60 pounds off has made a dramatic difference in how I feel and move and breathe.
Don't fear the surgery. Fear doing nothing. I was nervous but not fearful. Good luck @Mike.J.Y You'll do just fine

Before I had surgery my life was miserable. Couldnt walk far at all. Looking after myself was such a big drain. I had come to the end of myself and didnt care if the very worst happened cos I was already living it. You know how hard it is.
Booking in for the surgery gave me something that I had not had for a very long time ........... Hope. Closer to the operation I was scared but also excited.
I had the gastric bypass May last year. Since then I lost 53kg or 116 pounds. I know I still have a way to go but I am feeling so much better in my own skin. I am more mobile and fitter than I have been in years. I am off all diabetic medications including insulin. I am also off my blood pressure and gerd medications too.
I have not had any complications. No regrets.

No, this is not all you are going to lose. When you had surgery you automatically signed up for a marathon event. It will time for you body to do it's own thing. It is a week by week proposition. Focus on the horizon every day. When a year has gone by then reassess. Set other goals to attain. Exercise. Trips. Hobbies. Other rewards. Enjoying each day.

no, i don't think it would look silly! esp since your arms are probably the most exposed in regular clothes...esp in the summer. everything else could be covered up without looking "out of season".
i LoVe my arm lift, despite my hideous scar (i scar terribly, but i knew that going in), which can really only be seen when i lift my arms in the air, swaying-like-i-just-don't-care....it was the reason that i actually for the first time in probably 20 yrs that i felt UN-self-conscious about my arms (scar and all).
i basically live in tank tops now. i even sport them regularly in the winter 😂
On the flip side, i have read many accounts of people being perfectly happy with thier loose-er arm skin, cuz it beats being obese any day.
    Good Luck! ❤️

COTTAGE cheese !!!! Yes --- that's right - cottage cheese . I follow these 2 ladies on Utube , the Keto Twins, and they have a video on how to make them and different flavorings you can add. It's just teaspoons of cottage cheese on parchment paper in the microwave for 4ish minutes. Here's the video

I had sleeve surgery 4 days ago, May 12th. First, I developed a liver bleed and had to have blood. I wasn't able to move around and got Fluid in my lungs, now I have uncontrolled bowel movements and I am pooping myself. It's Friday May 16th and I'm still in the hospital. I'm hoping to go home today. Please tell me the uncontrolled diarrhea will pass. I'm so discouraged. I'm wondering if I didn't make a huge mistake.

When you had the bypass you signed yourself up for a spot in a marathon in a number or sports. Running (what you eat) Track and field (how you eat and why). Stamina (Patience). Synchcronized swimming (Creativity). Discus (More patience). High jump (Exercise). It will take a long time of practicing all of these elements to get to the end of your race.
It can feel very hard at the start to even see the finish line and that is why you just keep on showing up for yourself day after day. I struggled at the start with the length of the journey ahead. It has taken me a year to feel better about being in my own skin. Keep on doing what your team has advised. If you keep to new habits it will happen even though there may be hiccups along the way.
Picture where you will be at in a year and looking back at the victories you will have along the way.
1 - Stay off the scales they will do your head in. Weigh once a week or month.
2 - Measure yourself once a month a see the changes.
3 - Set mini goals along the way and reward yourself when you achieve them.
4 - Be proud that you are doing the very best you can. 💖

@Possum220 Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. You’ve kept me sane in times where I thought I would lose it! Thank you for this I really do appreciate you. 🥰
Apparently, fluids should be free flowing and no problem whatsoever but I definitely know something isn’t right as I can take only 5 medium sip swallows at a time before it stops ‘flowing’. It feels like I need to burp but there’s no air to burp. If I do try to burp all the Fluid comes back up. Obviously, food is worse so I think the gastro investigation will show something. Otherwise, I don’t know what will happen! Hopefully, next Wednesday I’ll know and fingers crossed there’s a fix.
im living off flattened lucozade and sloppy Pasta which is not good. I did manage some pistachios chopped and chewed within an inch of their life the other day though! I tried a banana afterwards and it just would not go down. A banana! 😞😞 I’d have thought the pistachios more problematic than a banana but nope! 🤣🤣
I will update you as soon as I know anything from the camera next week.
thank you so much again for your support. I can’t express how much you’ve kept me going.

@ShelleyBelley So glad that you have turned the corner and feeling a little better. Feeling crappy is never a good thing. Your surgeon is doing the right thing by checking out your plumbing. Sounds like he listened to you and gave you some helpful advice. Hope that all goes well for you.
It is strange how some medication affect us differently. In regard to the anti nausea drugs can you see if there is another one that might suit you better? I had maxalon years ago for nausea and in made me anxious in the days afterwards yet ondansetron was a much better fit for me.
You are the only person that can know where your body will be happy to be. Hopefully that as your body continues to heal you will feel more settled and comfortable with the changes all the changes. Day by day is the best that any of us can do. Roll on your camera debut and getting even more sorted.

@ShelleyBelleyYou are absolutely on point to see the surgeon and getting yourself to A & E. You have had major surgery and things can and do go wrong. I am glad that you were able to see the surgeon. You are not being silly in any way shape or form. It is the surgeons job to keep an eye on you.
Dehydration will affect your body so much. Sucking on lemonade icy poles will help. Also have some broth and add in some Protein Powder. Tea and coffee help. Electrolyte drinks can be found at the chemist. I also found that the anti-emetic Ondansetron helped with the vomiting and nausea.
Hope everything from now is on the improve for you. You deserve to be well for you. There is a saying that the "squeaky wheel gets the oil'. Squeak as loud as you can until the you are satisfied that you have been heard. 🙂

I started my journey in December and I am less then 3 weeks until my surgery date. My program requires you to lose a certain percentage of body weight before surgery. My surgery goal was 21 pounds and so far I’ve been able to lose 43. Now I’m so close to surgery day and I have this overwhelming desire to eat all my favorite crappy foods one last time. Yes I know eventually down the road you can indulge from time to time. I realize that it’s not like I will never get to eat pizza ever again. I also really want to lose another 7 pounds to hit 50 before surgery. 50 pounds before surgery was a personal goal I had set for myself. I need a way to shut off the part of my brain that wants to eat all the junk in the next few weeks.

So, today It's been officially one year since my surgery. Yay!
I am very happy about how much I lost. I started at 264 and am now at 154 and still want to lose a little bit more so my doctor can refer me to plastics. It's slow going but it's going.
I wasn't sure what I was going to write but decided to just go with how I was feeling. One of things I love is I'm much smaller and have more energy but I am also a bit resentful. Bigger people aren't taken seriously sometimes by doctors. I complained of chest pain before the weight loss and was told your blood pressure is too high. Now that I am smaller I was told well that shouldn't be happening and got a CT scan done on Thursday. I had to take prednisone and Benadryl because I'm allergic to the dye contrast. Well they did find two blockages in my arteries one at 70% so tomorrow I have to go in and get a stent put in and I'm a bit pissed off that this could have been taken care of earlier if they had taken my concerns seriously. I haven't done any exercise in a month cause I'm too scared I'll keel over with a heart attack. The moral of this story is to pay attention to your body and if you have concerns speak with your doctor and be insistent if you need them to listen.

Wow!! I am so sorry you are having such a rough time. I think one of your problems is dehydration, which will make you pass out. I would suggest you go to the Emergency dept and see if they can give you an IV drip. Then they may be able to look into why you cant keep anything down. It could be why you are having flu like symptoms too. I sure hope you feel better.

Possum220 reacted to SleeveToBypass2023 in Finished 4 endoscopies and my colonoscopy, and......
Got my results from the colonoscopy. What they removed was 2 adenomas. 1 medium and 1 large. Stage 1 cancer. No further treatment needed since there was no chance for it to spread since it was caught and removed so early. Need to be watched closely with more frequent colonoscopies to make sure it doesn't come back. I also have to have a small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) test done in the next week or so.
All my stomach polyps came back pre-cancerous but benign. Now I have to have a large uterine fibroid removed and tested and see a colorectal specialist for 2 other...things...removed. Then another endoscopy to check my stomach to see if polyps have come back. After that, if none have, I should be cleared for the revision. If they have, then I need to have them removed and tested and see what's next. So I still have AT LEAST another 3 months of this crap before I can even remotely look at the revision. And that's still a huge maybe at this point.
My weight loss has completely stopped, I can barely work out (I can only do 30-45 min tow to three times per week instead of 1 1/2 - 2 hours 5 days per week...no weights, no core or strength training...just the treadmill if I go easy and the bike), and my diet is a mess because I still (even on 80mg of Nexium per day) get break through GERD and excruciating pain in my colon area that we're still investigating, so I can kinda sorta stick to my diet, but on really bad days I eat whatever will stay down and not hurt (like mashed potatoes, Beans, bread, etc). I try to be religious with my diet when I'm having good or even ok days. But I'm literally about to lose my mind over here. I just want the GERD and polyps to STOP. I want the pain to stop. I want to get back on my diet PROPERLY. I want to really work out again. I miss my life the way it was before.
Fun times over here, lemme tell ya.... 😵‍🙄
