So I just started the program at umass...had my first in take with Dr.dragoon. On Feb 16th. My next intake is Feb 28th with Jennifer lauretti..then march 5th with Jennie prince...seems like every thing is going pretty quick. I started dieting this week so I could prove i'm going to work with the band...I Hoper it goes quick..I do have to go have a sleep test thought..dr. Dragoon says because I snore I need to be tested..already scheduled that to.march 29th...so I am hoping to go through the program quicker then 6 months. I am glad there are others in the Worcester area on here. Its nice to have people to talk to.

Thankyou jazzy Thank you for advise. I will starty on my eating habits. Is there anything i can do to get a jump on things? Can i take any of the intakes till they tell me to. Like seeing a nutritionist before i meet with gitkind? I just would perfer not to have to wait six months after january meeting to get the surgery? I dont want to seem in a hurry i will just be planning my wedding when the six months comes up and i would like to not have to worry about the surgery at the time? Thanks again for any advise Amanda

Hi iam new on hear well, not really new i have been looking into the labband for about three months. I went to umass as i live only a hour away and feel like they could help. I like the doctors i have met so far they seem like they know what they are talking about. I have been top the orientaion meeting and the surgical meeting. I Just got my call for my first meeting with Dr. Gitkin. I have my first intake with him in January. I wish my intake wasn't so far away. I was told after your first intake it could take up to six months before your surgery. I just hope everyhting can go smoothly so i can get in to it quicker. Is there anything anyone can tell me to get more perpared for the intakes? Thanks for listening Amanda:thumbup:

hi iam amanda. I am goingt o my first orentation meeting at umass on thursday. i am nervous. i dont really want to go by myself but i want this for me so here i go. I am glad to find people on here from my area. i live central mass about 45mins from worcester. I read you blogs and what is the manometry test and the barium test they sound bad. I really dont know what worcester requires they dont send you anything like that when you call the weight clinic. they just sent me instructions to go to the meeting and then two weeks later to the surgury meeting. Then they would have me fill out a questionaire and call me within two weeks. so herei go to the first meeting. Help with info if you can would greatly appreciate it. Thank you amanda

hey flower i am going to my first orentation meeting thursday for the start of the process i am going to umass. I live in central mass about 45 mins from worcester. I am going to the hyatt auditorium at the umass medical school. Have you gone that far yet?

I got a letter today from lapband.com. I had sent for some info and they sent me a letter saying that i was not a good canidate for the surgery. I though anything over 40 bmi was high enough. They never even have seen me. I am still going to go to a seminar for the first step but, i was wondering if i am just wasting my time. Help anyone. Thanks:confused2:

Hi, everyone I am a new one form mass. I live in orange. I am thinking about the lap band. I have gone as far as to call the worcester weight clinic and get the paper work sent to me. I have researched the band anbd really think it is for me. I have been over weight my whole adult life and i just can't do it any more. I am getting married in june 2010 and i want to start over fresh. Has anyone heard of Dr. John Kelly out of worcester ma. I have been looking for the right doctor and i just need to know .:confused2: Thanks for listrening amanda:biggrin2:
