Mayo Banditos / Friday Weigh In !!!!

Hi all its been a long time since I checked in. I'm still slllllllowly losing weight. The good news is that even if I'm not paying a whole lot of attention I don't gain. I tend to go through bursts of effort where I can drop between 5-10 lbs and then plateau for awhile. I'm down a little over 60 lbs now. still want to get below 200 but am trying to be patient!
  3. Congratulations everyone! My bandaversary was May 21st. I had hoped to lose a bit more than I have but 55lbs in a year will have to do. I fight for each pound and if I'm not exercising every day I stall. I have stopped stressing about it and am doing my best to take it one day at a time. I will reach my goal hopefully by next year I will have reached the 100lb mark and just keep going little by little from there. I am back into an 18 and feel A LOT better. Just need to stick with it and take a step at a time!
  4. I don't think its just flexibility its also the way your legs are built I'm pretty flexible but I have Muscular legs so I haven't been able to cross and relax since I was a maybe a size 12 or 14. I am closer now that I have been in a long time but still can't just cross and relax.
  5. I don't know if I can make it. I still have 12 lb to go and I've been stalled. I am going to stick with my plan and maybe kick the working out up another notch so I will give it my all!

    Riding horses

Is a saddlebred ok for pleasure riding? I don't really intend to show I don't have the time or money for it. I just LOVE to ride.
  11. Thanks! I know what you mean! I've been on a plateau for a little bit and then I had to have an unfill due to reflux a week ago. I hate when that scale doesn't move at least a little downward every day! Good luck with your 240 goal! My next goal is 160, that's what I was when I first got pregnant with my now 16 year old daughter, that'll take a few months. Take care!Keep up the good work!:smile2:.

    Riding horses

Funny I have been contemplating leasing a saddlebred. I used to own a horse started out Western and was riding English by the time I had to sell Dante. I have never ridden a Saddlebred before. Any advice?
  13. PCOS can make it more difficult to losing weight as we tend to be insulin resistant this article describes it a little: PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and Weight Loss Most PCOS sufferers find low carb is the most effective way to lose weight that is definitely true of me. There are several PCOS threads on the board where you can get some more information. Here is the link to the PCOS forum on the board: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f175/
  14. RedGurl I would recommend logging your food on someplace like Fitday. I find that it makes me much more accountable. Some of us lose slower than others.. whether its because of our metabolism, PCOS, or difficulty sticking to the band rules it happens. I have been banded since May 09 lots of people banded same time as me have lost over 100lbs that can make me feel discouraged but I keep plugging away.. lets face it w/o the band I'd probably be up not down 50lbs. I also find that I lose in fits I don't lose steadily. Working out will help you at the very least it will help you feel better emotionally and physically. Can you walk at lunch? Low carb has also been the most effective for me and it works perfectly with the band since that food tends to keep me full up until its time for another meal. Anyhow your not failing I stayed around 30 lbs until December just evaluate and maybe make a few adjustments... the band helps you be able to make the changes but it doesn't force you...(That is said from my own experience lol)
