Last week I walked 16.89 Miles not bad for me. Bet Big Rick beats me all to hell in this area even in the snow. Here in Mesa AZ last week the Temprature is running in the seventies Ha Ha.

How much are you eating
Hi Big08 All the reports I have read here on the Forum tell us the first 5 weeks are for healing the new little pouch formed by the Band and not to loose weight, you could even gain weight. All Doctors do not approach weight lose the same and recommend different things for us to eat, some don't even give much advice at all. Nuts and Bolts of what my Doctor and his group told me to eat. 1 to 2 oz of protein per meal 3 meals per day and no snacks between meals. and to supplement my protein intake with Whey protein drink to bring my total to 60 - 70 grams of protein per day. (Note the protein drinks are taken between meals.) At about 4/5 weeks I was just starving and called the group I now do 3 oz of protein, and sometimes about 2 oz of vegetables, and a couple of bits of fruit. They want me to take daily vitamins, Multivitamins Complex B and Calcium. They want me to drink 48 to 62 oz of fluid per day. Exercise at least 30 minutes per day I walk. I log every thing I eat to record my 60 - 70 grams of protein. I do record my Calories but not required by Doctor I am at 11 Weeks post op now and eat 400 to 600 Calories per day sometimes I see it go up to 800. I do sill need at times to drink Low Sodium V8 to curb the hungers between meals. Good Luck

3 weeks to go, what should I be doing?
Hi JABBA THE MUTT Welcome to the Mens Room The low/no carb is what I did before sure helped me. I also stopped eating between meals and continue to do so today. Get yourself a log book and start recording your efforts now. I record liquid, protein, intake and mileage walked daily. I only weigh myself on Sunday the start of a new week. I bought a OMRON HJ112 Pedometer TO Monitor walking. I was able to start walking the day of surgery and started mall walking the next day as all of us have said walk walk walk at least 30 minutes per day. Good Luck

Not Losing. . . except my mind.
WannaBSKinnyB We share the same band date and its just not right that Men lose faster than Woman. But I also have my own problems would give anything to be at my own sweet spot the hungers are driving me crazy. I must keep reminding myself that time and more fills will take care of that I am only at 4.5cc in a 10cc band now. Remind yourself that you are only two months post op and was told Lap Band is slower than RNY that was also are choice. From what I read in your posts the way you are eating you will get skinny but it will be slow. From what I have read here on the Forum on those that have lost a lot fast they pretty much all say they keep a log and exercise exercise. WannaBSKinnyB fast to SKinnyBME get a log book and start recording you may get a surprise. The hard one for us all is exercise and could be what is causing you to loss slowly. You might consider reporting your effort to us I do walk 30 minuets to a hour every day

Not Losing. . . except my mind.
We all have the same problem. We are all compulsive overeaters I am for sure. We all chose the band to help us on the road to good health but it is only a tool it wont do it for us. Yes this is Bandster Hell time we must still take control for now. To become sober an Alcoholic must stop drinking. A compulsive overeater is no different only food is the booze. We can’t stop eating so what can we do? For me I chose to not eat between meals that would be like an Alcoholic taking a drink. Exercise must become the most important activity of are day put off what we must but walk at least 30 minutes per day seven days a week Get a logbook and start recording daily I do. Log how much liquid, drink 48 to 64 oz per day. Record your Protein input. Eat 60 to 70 grams of protein per day no more. Drink protein drinks if needed to get to this number. I do record my calories but not required I eat 400 to 600 per day. Yes I do get hungry the Band fills have not caught up with that yet but they will. But then we chose weight lose surgery. So get over it use willpower 6 months to a year is a very small price to pay for our good health. I use low sodium v8 juice and protein drinks between meals to help with the hungers. Good luck

Weight gain and frustarted
Hi elsid congratulation on loosing 36 pounds. Taking the first step to get with us guys is a great way to get back on track. We have the same problem as you. We are all compulsive overeaters I am for sure. We all chose the band to help us on the road to good health but it is only a tool it wont do it for us. To become sober an Alcoholic must stop drinking. A compulsive overeater is no different only food is the booze. We can’t stop eating so what can we do? For me I chose to not eat between meals that would be like an Alcoholic taking a drink this would be my first suggestion. Second exercise must become the most important activity of your day put off what you must but walk at least 30 minutes per day seven days a week Get a logbook and start recording daily I do. Good luck

Starving!!!
Hi Baby fever you are on day 8 My Doctor told me WEEKS TWO AND THREE (8-22). At this time, you may Begin adding soft, moist, SOLD food, like Cottage cheese String Cheese eggs any style Tofu Low fat yogurt Refried Beans Deli chicken or Turkey Baked Fish Tuna with fat-free mayo How much he said 1-2 oz I am at day 23 have talked with the Doctors about hunger and am now at 3 oz of food per meal with no fill in the band When eating Protein at all meals if you have room OK to add well cooked vegetables like green beans, carrots, mushrooms, beets, (broccoli, cauliflower but tips only),canned/cooked, peeled tomatoes. Canned fruit (unsweetened) Take Protein drinks between meals the most impotent thing right now for us is not to stretch the new pouch and let the stomach heal 4 to 5 weeks. Now is the time for WILL POWER OVER FOOD. Good Luck

How long is your post-op diet?
Days 1-3 clear liquids,.Days 4-7 add v-8 juice skim milk,Decaf coffee. Days 8-22 add Cottage Cheese, string cheese, Eggs,Tofu,Refried beans,Turkey deli type,Baked fish. Days 23 up add one food at a time so you don't get sick. Sample Meal Day 9 Breakfast 1/4 c cottage cheese, Lunch 1 oz string cheese, Dinner 2 oz deli turkey. Would think we all have the same guidelines Do not overfill your new pouch or stomach structure, or If you vomit call your Surgeon immediately. Ether of these could cause band slippage. Easy does it is our motto for now, takes about 5 weeks for things to heal.
-
To much protien a to little protien???
I would think you could have Decaf coffee try mixing 4oz with your protein, not great but helps. I was able to have skim milk on the 4th day that sure gives the protein a boost. 4oz skim milk one scoop protein. You might call around to see if you can find a protein suppler that will let you sample? Try to find one you like. Sure not sure were else to get your protein from but the drink.

Bandsters Nov 17-21
Eleventh day Post op getting better every day. Pulled something in my stomach last Thursday walking in a park. Took Sunday off seams to be ok now. Went to have my staples removed Wednesday every thing just great. Found out why I cant turn over on my right side, seams the problem came from My Glad bladder removal operation years ago, something grows back that had to be cut to lift the liver. Now off all my Diabetes Medications, my Blood Sugar readings are running around 102 MG/DL 6 years on these Meds gone forever. :rolleyes2:Next to go Blood Pressure Meds My readings were like 148/87 and have dropped to readings like 118/72 or lower. I am finding them lower when I walk than when I don’t. I lost 10 lbs this past week. I chalk it up to all my clean living.

Has anyone heard from Froggi?
