I have had the same issue, I notice that days I don't hit my Water intake is worse than days I do.

    Hello All!
This might be a taboo topic, but this has always felt like a safe space to ask questions. I had VSG surgery three months ago, and I'm down 50 pounds which is very exciting. My question is, has anyone else experienced vaginal dryness after surgery?! It's dry as the Sahara desert down there, regardless of solo play or with my partner, which was the complete opposite pre-op! I don't know if I'm dehydrated, or maybe my hormones are just off right now. Any thoughts? Thank you 🙂

My advice would be to drink more Water and start working out. Sex drive and all the juices in high gear after a leg/body workout.

Oh Carpeediem I went through the same thing and nothing anyone tells you will help you feel any different right now. If you go to my profile and read my early posts and think I even posted early on in this thread, you will see what I mean I think I even have a post almost exactly the same as this I even went on a huge rant on a sleeve Facebook pages saying the surgery should be banned for all except those with life threatening conditions 😳. Be kind to yourself these feelings don't last and soon you will be able get back to " normal" it will be a different normal but not how you are now. Go see a therapist that will help understand your relationship with food and how to cope with the feelings you have now. I am now almost 8 months out and feel much better about having the surgery however it did take me until the 4 to 5 month mark to even start feeling better. If you want to pm me please feel free to do so. Big hugs 🫂 it does get better

    Hi All

I am a chef by profession and feel that though I am going through the same as most (currently in puree stage) I refuse to give up my desire to eat well and be creative.
My weight loss is going great and I have been keeping the diet prescribed to me by my physician. I have, however, stretched my creative muscles to incorporate flavors I like into my day. This is one of my more successful ones. I am also trying to eat more vegetarian and vegan and this was a good place for that as I use Just egg and vegetarian sausage. If I had cashew yogurt I would have used that instead.
208 calories / 15 carbs / 12g Protein (vegetarian) should yield 1/4 cup. If more only eat what you are prescribed.
1 Morning Star Farm vegetarian Sausage Link
    1/2 cup Oat Milk
1 ts Low-fat Greek Yogurt (plain)
    1/4 ts rubbed sage
    1/4 ts garlic powder
    1/4 ts dried chives (optional)
    Ground black pepper
1 ts corn starch disolved in 1 ts of Water
1 egg or 3Tbl. Just Egg
    Over medium heat.
Cut up one sausage link and, in a small pan sprayed with cooking spray, sauté until lightly browned.
Add Oat Milk, yogurt, sage, garlic powder and chives if you are using and stir until the yogurt dissolves and the gravy starts to simmer. Let it start to cook down a bit.

Stir the cornstarch and water slurry well to make sure it is fully dissolved and add it to the gravy.
Bring up the heat and stir till thickened to the consistency you wish. If too thick, add some water.
Remove from the pan and put the gravy into a small food processor. Blitz until smooth and the sausage is well incorporated.
Make your egg or egg substitute scrambled fine so it meets puree standards and serve with the gravy on top.
Though you are using about 1/2 cup of milk and such, out leaving you with approximately 1/4 cup of sausage gravy.
This is decadent, has the flavors you want, has a good amount of protein and meets the requirements.
    Cheers
    J

Milk of Magnesium Cherry flavor! I didn't go for 11 days post-op, and this helped in 12 hours

    Very well put!
I agree that if you physically can't function or get around, then, by all means, get surgery!! Though for me, at 30 years old kindergarten teacher who was medically "healthy." It wasn't the right choice!! I would take being a thick size 18 over all the complications from acid reflux. I just wasn't told the severity in which the complications could be. It pisses me off!!
  8. Congrats!

AMEN. And women get if at a far higher percentage - so 35% is a bit low for us ladies.
My biggest mistake was coming on here before surgery and only wanting to hear the success stories. I wish I would have asked - "are you currently on any reflux medications?" You'd be surprised by how many people are on high doses of PPI's and singing the surgery praises. I'm a 17 year vet, I know the truth, and I was a lucky one - I didn't have it so bad that I had to get a bypass.
These early praisers might not have experienced the PPI side effects yet. The Iron infusions, the emergency room visits for kidney stones, the energy crashes, the daily nausea, etc. You can't undo or fix or medicate this...I've been searching for years.
Listen - my sister is "fat" like I was. She didn't have the surgery. She is still fat, and is prediabetic...but her last 17 years have full and happy. She's enjoyed life, traveled, enjoyed her career, found and maintained a loving husband, enjoyed life with her children, etc. Here laugh is real, and deep ... I miss having that.
I couldn't play with my kids a lot - too tired. I couldn't enjoy eating with them - not really. I was in the emergency room this christmas with kidney stones - again. Several times in the ER when my iron plummeted and needed an infusion (I take all my Vitamins - doesn't matter). I vomited out the window on my husbands birthday because my PPI failed and I forgot my tums.
If I could trade my size 2 body for her size 24, I would in a heartbeat. I sometimes get someone saying "aren't you glad you got the surgery - you'd be like your sister if you didn't". They always get a shocking earful.
Now if you are unable to get out of bed, or walk, or function - get the surgery!!!! But be careful of the cheerleaders, especially those who are still trying to convince themselves that they "made the right choice". Many here are freshly out and still in the honeymoon stage. I remember that stage - lol.

I wish I had read this post weeks ago! I also wish I would've just learned to love the "fat" me instead of having this surgery

I'm so sorry for what you have been dealing with. I recently had surgery, and I 100% regret my decision. I was relativity "healthy" by medical standards, but I was just FAT! I wish I would've just accepted myself and my body the way it was. The complications aren't worth the weight loss in my opinion.

I had my Gastric Bypass surgery in August 2019, surgery was a breeze but have suffered with sickness and nausea for the last year but due to Covid haven’t been able to see my surgeon. Was prescribed Odensetron which helps somewhat. But regardless of the sickness and not being able to keep foods down I do not regret having it done at all. Have lost over 140lbs . Before and after pics attached

    Hello All!
I have a gastric sleeve today, March 5th, in Michigan, and I have to say that I am terrified! I have wanted this for so long(covid delays), but as I sit here in the hospital, I can not help wonder if I am making the right choice. Pre-surgery jitters, for sure!
