  1. Hi Peggy, I was approved on the 17th. of Oct. and had my surgery the 29th. Good luck and hope you have it soon. Maggies:shades_smile:
  2. I was denied the first time. My surgeon talked to the insurance company and found out that my sleep study was missing from the packet submitted to the insurance company. It showed I have sleep apnea. So the surgeons office resubmitted it and I was approved. So, the best thing you can do is find out why they denied and if you think they are wrong, check and make sure your paperwork was complete. Good luck to you all. Maggis:shades_smile:
  3. I have lost 8 1/4lbs. the first week. I would have liked to be in the double digits but any loss is good. Sabrina, Sounds like you are real close to being at the right weight. I believe they go by the met life tables for weight. Have you done all the testing yet? Or has it already been turned into Tricare? Maggies:shades_smile:
  4. Good Morning Everybody, I lost 8 1/4lbs this week. I'm happy with that, but of course would have liked double digits. Welcome Sunwyse, Sounds like you are finally over the pain of surgery. The gas was no fun, plus I had the diarrea also. I still hurt where the port is but that is about it. How much have you losed so far? Maggie:shades_smile:
  5. Hang in there, hopefully you will get approved. I was denied the first time and appealed and approved. So there is always hope. Let us know what happens. Maggies:shades_smile:
  6. Bridgette, congratulations on the 17lbs. That is great. I decided I am weighing tomorrow. I'm sure I won't lose anywhere close to that. I'm feeling really good now also which is a big change from yesterday. I got on my treadmill today for the first time since surgery. I usually walk my dogs 2 miles a day but it has been raining for days. Congratulations again. Maggies:shades_smile:
  7. JWRN, your weight loss ticker says your down 45lbs. WOW, that is great, people have got to notice that. I may weigh myself tomorrow, since that will be one week since I last weighed. I didn't get weighed in on surgery day. I just got done drinking 1/4 cup of chicken broth and I am so full, what a strange feeling. Karina, Have you talked to Mrs. Frazier, she should be very helpful to you. Maggies:shades_smile:
  8. I am on clear liquids thru this Friday, with the exception of protein drinks. And then I go onto full liquids. By Thanksgiving I will be able to have a small piece of Turkey and mashed potatoes and veg. Looking forward to that, but I sure don't want that to be my first getting sick from eating. How about the rest of you, will you be able to eat on Thanksgiving? Have a good day. Maggies:shades_smile:
  9. Good Morning Everyone, You must be so proud of your daughter. You do not look old enough to have a daughter that age. I know my Kids and Grandsons bring me a lot of pride and joy. And of course my two dog kids also. Feeling even better this morning, which is great. I have my post op appt. this Thursday so I will be heading for Sacramento again. I will probably spend a couple days there. I still have not weighed myself. I keep thinking what if I get on the scales on Wednesday and I have gained weight. Surely that is not possible????? Have a good day. Maggies:shades_smile:
  10. JWRN, Oh my goodness, what did they do to you. You must have been in a lot of pain. And as for the other pictures you are so pretty and you look very young. I don't no where you see that you look old. And another thing you don't look like you need to lose that much weight. You must carry it very well. Who is in the picture with you? I will post some pictures in the next day or so. Maggies:shades_smile:
  11. JWRN, OK , I am a little computer stupid. Where is post op complications? Karina, Just sent you all the info you requested. Good luck. Maggies:shades_smile:
  12. I everyone, as you can see I was just banded this past Wednesday. I was also denied the first time. I have a bmi of 41 and need to lose over 100lbs. My surgeon, called the insurance company and turns out they did not have a copy of my sleep study which showed I have sleep apnea. So the surgeons office resubmitted the paperwork to ins. and I was appoved two weeks later. So keep trying, it is worth it. Although I'm still a little sore and gassy, I haven't regretted it. Maggies:shades_smile:
  13. tomatogirl, Congratulations on the 7lbs. That is a great weight loss in just a little over 4 days. My scale is calling me, I better go close the door to the room it is in so I can't hear it. Man, this is going to be so hard not to weigh until Wednesday. By Wednesday you will probably be over 10lbs. Keep up the good work. Maggie:shades_smile:
  14. Sounds like everybody is doing good. I am still pretty swollen from the gas, about the rest of you. And of course have the port pain but I still think it was the right thing to do. I'm so excited to weigh my self on Wednesday. Hopefully there is a loss. Maggie:shades_smile:
  15. JWRN, Looking forward to seeing the pictures. How are you feeling a month out. Does it still hurt around the port area, and how long did it take you to get rid of the gassy feeling. What kinds of foods are you eating? Congratulation on the great loss. Tomatogirl, my incisions are itching also. OK, how much weight have you lost. I want to weigh myself so bad, but I promised myself I wouldn't do it until Wednesday. Hope I can wait. Maggie:shades_smile:
  16. Tomatogirl, Yes, I have the same thing on my incisions, but I wasn't told to take them off at any time. They are starting to come loose on the ends of them. I finally went to my bed for the first time around 2am this morning because I was sick of my recliner. And it was great, I actually made it to my right side to sleep. How is everybodys else's sleeping going? Maggies:shades_smile:
  17. Jewlo, good luck on your approval. I was denied at first and had to appeal which was approved. I was just banded this past Wednesday and still a little sore. Let us know how it goes. Maggies:shades_smile:
  18. Hey Karina, How are you doing, keep us updated on your progress towards surgery. I'm doing Ok, I am having a little bit of pain in the port area, which I don't like, but am feeling better everyday. Maggie:shades_smile:
  19. Bridgette, Congratulations on the 8lbs. I am not going to weigh myself until next Wednesday because I am a compulsive weigher. If I get on it today I will be doing it everyday. Congrats again. Babyface33, Welcome to the Oct. 29ners. Another week and you will feel like a new person. We need to improve ourselves first and foremost for us. And believe me she will love the new you. You will have so much more energy and be a happier person. That can't help but rub off on the people you are around. Maggies:shades_smile:
  20. Within a couple weeks we will all be back to normal and happy we did this. I have no regrets, even when I was feeling my worst. I'm hopeing I'm tight enough that I won't need a fill for quite a while. And I'm so anxious to weigh myself next Wednesday. It is hard staying of the scale but I'm sure I have gained with all the IVs and gas in me so I am waiting. Have a good weekend everybody. Maggies:shades_smile:
  21. Wvagal, I am having the same thing with my stomach growling super loud. Last nite I was at my daughters house and it did it and everybody thought it was thunder. So that tells you how loud it is. My diarrea is better but that is because my doctor prescribed medication for it. So hand in there, each day will get better. Maggies:shades_smile:
  22. I am feeling a little better today and just had a protein drink. Just think tomorrow we will feel even better. Bridgette, Is your port pain on the left, because that is where I have the most pain, so I'm guessing that is where my port is. I didn't talk to the doctor after the surgery so don't really no. Maggies:shades_smile:
  23. Welcome back debbytx, Good to hear everything went good. All but your tongue. Wow, that had to be hard to do. I know I have been walking a lot and drinking. It seems to help with the gas. Have a good weekend. Maggies:shades_smile:
  24. abbalv, I hope you get relieve from the constipation. I don't know which is worce. I took one of the pills the doctor prescribed for me and I haven't had diarrea since. So hopefully that was all I needed. For the life of me I don't know where it was coming from, because I haven't eaten since last Sunday, and then it wasn't much. All Oct. 29ners, Are you all going to weigh yourselves next Wednesday. Lets all post how much we lose that day. Good luck to everyone. Maggies:shades_smile:
  25. I called the doctor this morning and he put in a prescription for something to help me with it. So hopefully relieve soon. I just don't want to go the other way and be constipated. Hi, Restless, Hows the weight loss going? I am on liquids for 10 days, but I am aloud to add Protein shakes tomorrow. And then full liquids for another 10 days. I am not going to weigh myself until next Wednesday so that will 1 week after my surgery. Maggie:shades_smile:
