Cool! I have thin hair, and I have found ways of disguising it, mostly. Enough to where I am satisfied.

Seventeen years ago my wife had GBS and for a while she was doing awesome she was losing the weight following her program eating only what was allowed and exercising this went on for at least 2-3 years then it all hit her between the eyes she was sick all the time throwing up and dumping pretty much everything she was eating she couldn't even drink the Protein Shakes the food was going right through her, our marriage was on the brink because we could not do anything as a couple because she had to stay close to the bathroom just in case, so one day i said you need to see a doctor and her being so sick this went on for about 6 months so we made the appt and the doctor said it was normal and to get some rest and just go back to eating like you did when you got out of the hospital , so she did and it got a little better and a little better than one night she looked at me and said " i didn't get sick today Hun" i didn't even realize it until she mentioned it so we agreed that maybe we should just stay with the shakes for a little while longer (3 or 4 more days) and try to eat something like ground up chicken she tried that and it stayed down basically a real long story but she started feeling much better and started eating better and the dr didn't know what it was but he said what all drs say when they don't have an answer " i don t know Mrs. Cooper" anyway all i cared about at that point in my life is my wife getting better nothing else to this day she still has bouts of dumping and getting sick nothing like those yrs ago , not even close , when she does get sick i think back to all those years ago i go right back there and lose focus on what's important and that's her and not me and how i feel it's about how she feels i can only imagine she must think not again, well i am going to end here cause i could go on but i would rather not rehash those horrible days seventeen yrs ago.

11weeks post-op, and although I have nausea on and off all day, and am on 2 different nausea meds, I would not do any different. I am not losing as quickly as some, but (one) I have always had a hard time losing, and (two) if I feel like eating, it's better than the nausea. (Eating usually does not cause the nausea-when I do misbehave, I own up to it, lol) I've lost 30 pounds in those 11 weeks, and that's fine with me.. 25 years ago, it took me two YEARS to lose fifty. (Then a family member got sick, and the diet went out the window.) My doc says the nausea has to do with hormonal changes and most people are over it by now, but as long as he tells me it is not a lifetime thing, I can deal with it. Do it again? You betcha!

At least your program doesn't forbid coffee/caffeine. My program says no caffeine, but that's getting ridiculous imo. There's no way I'm cutting out coffee, unless it doesn't sit well after surgery.

I saw one of buddies Dad at a event I go to every year in Tennessee. He took this picture of us to send back to my friend. When I saw it I couldn't believe what I had done to myself.
    That was my it moment.
I realized even though I still did a lot even at 575# if I didn't do something soon my girls would not have me in their lives. I was such an angry person too. Simple things other people did upset me because I knew how hard it would be for me to do.
btw I'm 31 and wish I would have done WLS in my early 20's instead of YoYoing for so many years.

I was diagnosed with diabetes and told that if I didn't do something in 5 years I was going to have some serious issues. Cured of diabetes and 140 lbs later, I also wish I would have done it sooner. I know you don't have any health problems, but the keyword is YET. You don't have them YET.
When I was your age, I didn't seriously contemplate the surgery because back then it was too new (I'm 48 now) and it was the full open you from stem to stern unlike the 5 little incisions now. You have to weigh all your options and do what works for you, but if I were your age with today's surgery and knowing what I know now... I'd do it.

Mine was different. I am older, so I have Medicare. My husband was a veteran, so I also have Tricare. I look through the sites occasionally, just because there are changes over the years to coverage, fees, etc. I have always struggled with my weight, but as I got older and less active, I gain a pound here and there. Well--over the last 3 to 4 years, I eventually went on BP meds. Imagine my surprise when I saw that a BMI of 35 and over, with a co-morbidity (as in diabetes, OR high blood pressure) could qualify you for them paying for the WLS! Took six months of jumping through various hoops, and here I am. (Everybody thought I was nuts, but other than the nausea, I have never looked back.)

I take 10ml of Floradix one hour before I eat in the morning and the last thing before I brush my teeth for bed at night. With a 2 hour min window around Calcium. Floradix is a natural liquid supplement. Available on Amazon. Read the reviews, I’m not alone.

oldandtired got a reaction from summerseeker in I tried to be a big dog-- wound up on the porch!
I tried to be a big dog-found out I was still just a pup! I am about 10 weeks post-op. I was out and about this weekend, and stopped at a stir-fry restaurant. I did order a lot of Protein, but it (of course) comes with rice and you have to have baby corn, Water chestnuts, etc., etc.. I ate a little, it was so good, ate another bite. (Can you see what coming??) By the time I left, I was sweating, and it's a 30 minute ride home. I was fortunate I had a plastic shopping bag... It was the first time I got the foamies. I would drive a little, then find a place where I could pull over and retch til my toes curled up.. Go a little further...repeat... Back to soft food, and no more stir-fry for a long time!.

Go back to your regular doctor. If you are concerned, that is the best thing to do. Don't assume and don't worry. That is what they are there for.

I tried at first to "do right" and was nauseated by EVERYTHING. Mashed potatoes was the only thing I could keep down. Never could go back to the shakes.... Don't stress too much--stressing is about as bad on you as the procedure, in my opinion.

I am 16 days post-op. I don't feel hunger like I did before. I get a restless feeling, that I am starting to realize is hunger. (Note: "head hunger" is alive and well, tho'.)

I agree with the others. Everyone has their own time frame for healing and it is kind of all over the map from what I’ve seen. Just listen to your body and don’t try to rush it. It takes what it takes. It does get a little better each day though so hopefully you will be feeling at least a little more energized soon.

Everyone is different, but for me, I felt differences at 1 week, 2 weeks, and then pretty normal at 4 weeks. The fatigue was intense the first month (I took daily afternoon naps) but after that I really felt great.

Pretty much what everyone else has said. Often in the first few weeks you aren't getting nearly enough nutrients to fuel your body as it recovers. I found once I could get in adequate calories (600-800) and all my fluids (64-80oz) I felt MUCH better and had lots of energy.
