Tony B - NJ reacted to ms.sss in Slim body but your brain's still thinking fat
Agreed. I started my road to morbid obesity later in life (in my early 30’s). So when i was bigger, i still thought i was smaller and would bang my shoulders on walls not thinking I actually needed to give my myself a wider berth to round corners, lol. Or i’d pick our clothes thinking they would fit and be suprised/disappointed when they were way too tight.
Then, later, I suppose i was big long enough (im 50 now) to ingraine in my head that there was no effing way i would fit into a size 2 when i lost the weight after wls.
Im 3.5+ years post now (and over 3 years at my current weight/size), and the weird surprises about fitting into things are long gone.
To the OP, As with all things, its just a matter of time before you get used to stuff and it becomes your new normal.
But its a fun kind or surprise so go ahead and bask in it!
Good Luck! ❤️

What better way to ensure a calorie deficit than to exercise a little bit.

I do not agree with this at all. Exercise to me is critical to getting the weight loss to continue. If I take a few days off I notice it slows down and I get into a stall. Not to mention, you have to exercise for health as well. Finally, by exercising, you are also trimming your body down and losing inches in the right places. I think you Doctor would agree with exercise and no Doctor would say not to exercise...atleast walking.

I think it is kind of normal to think of yourself in a certain way when you have been that way for so long. Conversely, many people who have been skinny all their lives still live their life as if they were skinny when they are putting on a lot of weight. I always think of myself as an overweight person when I am out and about in the world. I still feel like people are looking at me and judging me for my appearance, what food I order or similar things. I think I will eventually think of myself as a normal sized person but I am sure it will be a slow evolution to that.
I some ways it is really not a bad thing because you know where you came from and will not pass judgement and scorn on those who are struggling with weight issues like has been done to all of us through our lives.

Tony B - NJ got a reaction from Oomamacita in One-derland after 6 months
I have finally reached One-derland after 6 months post surgery. I have lost 94 pounds now and am resetting my goal to 190. I am feeling so good and look like I did when I was in my 30s (I am 58). If you are just starting out, stick with it. It is worth all the suffering and dedication.

No worries...for what it is worth. I may come off cold at times but I am truly trying to help. I truly believe that people can be successful in their journey if they get out of their own way and commit. Some people need a good boot in the ass at times to open their eyes and get serious.

I was attacked for being honest with this person because I saw what you all saw recently right from the beginning. This person wanted the easy way out, would not weight food, would not give up Indian Food, wanted to have her desserts etc, etc.
Case Rested. This was either a troll or someone who just does not want to do what it takes to be succesful and wants to blame it on the surgery, others, human nature etc.

Tony B - NJ got a reaction from Muffinman1119 in Best Multivitamin for Gastric Sleeve
I have tried the Bariatric Advantage chewable and capsule. The chewable is disgusting, the capsule smells awful and makes me cringe to take it. The bariatric pal capsule is great for me. Same stats and the BA without the vile smell and taste.

Tony B - NJ got a reaction from summerseeker in Super happy but a bit confused
I am not sure if it is true or not, but I had the same thought about men's clothing and really wonder if the clothing manufacturers have not screwed around with the sizing to make people feel like they fit into smaller clothing. There are people out there who will not buy clothing just because they do not like the number of the size they fit in. It may be some of that psychological BS going around where a 10 years ago may be an 8 now based on the obsession with sizing and being smaller.

Tony B - NJ got a reaction from BeWellKel in Non Dairy Shake and bar options
Try the "Built" Bar. You can find on Amazon. It has 20 grams of Protein and 130 calories. I tried the salted caramel and the coconut and they are both very good. I use these when I am going to be out for a while and do not get a chance to stop for lunch. It holds the hunger off and gives me a shot of protein.

Tony B - NJ got a reaction from SHORTY_ in Tattoo Timing
The only concern would be infection of the tattoo site in my opinion. If you go to a reputable artist and do the proper aftercare and keep it super clean it should not be an issue at all. I have gotten 3 pist op staring at 4 months. No issues at all

I am still after 9 months counting my calories and logging my exercise. I am too afraid to stop because I do not want to end up eating more than I think I am eating.

Tony B - NJ got a reaction from Patricia Bee in Weight loss just stop
I am currently going through the same thing. I have been stuck for about 2 weeks now. It is very frustrating even though you know it is somewhat common. I am barely eating anything (less than 800 calories) drinking plenty (80-90 ounces) and exercising 45-60 minutes per day, walking. I am keeping Protein around 80 or so per day and virtually no carbs. It really gets discouraging when you do these things and do not see the scale move. Yes, I know, don't weight yourself every day.........it is still an issue, even more so if you wait a week and still see no losses.

Tony B - NJ got a reaction from lizonaplane in Over The Shaming
All this stuff is true. I would however like to give a male point of view. Men who are obese are not "given a pass" as some like to say. I too thought it was more accepted until I lost 100 pounds and it is amazing how differently people treat me since I am now skinny. I am asked if I need help more quickly in department stores, I am addressed more quickly in car dealerships or whatever environment I show up to. I am treated more politely at the doctor/dentist office and the list goes on. The weight discrimination is there for men too.

I did not mean to minimize the male experience. You are correct, men who are obese arent given a pass and are just as much a target for ridicule as women. I do find that the "dad bod" look is acceptable but women who have an ounce of body fat where it shouldnt belong are considered disgusting.
