  2. Hey all! I'm from Broken Arrow, and I am getting my lap band TOMORROW...Eek! :scared2: LOL with Dr. Luis Gorospe at Bailey Medical Center. Glad to see there are others who have used him! Looking forward to sharing our experiences, and glad to have some locals on the board. Take care!!
  3. Woo hoo! I'm right there with you! The scary thing is that I am actually not nervous at all! Wild right? I'm soooo ready too! I've lost 6 pounds on my preop so far, so that's a good start! Can't believe it's TOMORROW!! Well best of luck to all of you and I'll talk to you SOON! THIS IS THE DAY WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!

I have been on a 4 day clear liquid diet and it stinks!! I'm so over it, but respect it as part of the process. Hope things are going well for you, and let's keep in touch!
  5. NurseMelly- I too remember my csection and it was NOT fun, however I'm sure this will be a walk in the park compared to that. Just take your "nap" and open your eyes and you'll be good! Congrats to you, I will keep all our 1/19 bandsters in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow! Halo-don't be scared! It will all work out. Think of how HOT you will look come summer! LOL Hope that helps ease some of the nerves. I am one day behind you guys...1/20 so I'll be looking forward to ya'lls posts on how you are doing. Take care 1/19 bandsters!! Best of luck!!

  7. Nikki- So I went into Walmart last night to finish stocking up on post op stuff and guess what they had??? Bolthouse stuff!! Woot woot!! LOL I bought the Cappucino and the Vanilla Chai Tea. 8. Liz! So excited another person is joining us! We all three def have to keep in touch! Nikki - I found the Bolthouse drinks online but my Wal-mart doesn't carry them and they won't ship since they are cold:thumbdown: So, I'll have to keep checking around. Oh well I can't believe our surgery is Tuesday! I went to my nutrition class today...soooo much to think about..vitamins, b-12, iron, protein and then your diet...my head had too much info in it LOL Just wanted to check in with you ladies...tomorrow I start my 4 day liquid and protein shake diet...eek! 11. Carolina mom - so so excited for you! Congrats!! Nikki- I understand what you mean I am a Dr. Pepper drinker and have been wondering how I'll do it. But just remember it's all mental. Today I went to McDonalds for lunch and I didn't even eat half of my food. Once you really look at stuff like that just remember that it's all CRAP. I was actually kind of disgusted just sitting there looking at what I put in my body. But don't worry we are going to do great and we are going to look fab this time next year!! Woo hoo!!:tongue2:
  12. Lena- I'm glad your surgery went so well! Here is my list so far... EAS Carb Control Ready to drink Protein shakes (Wal-mart) broth sugar free jell-o Crystal light Bottled Water SF Popsicles Gas-X Liquid Tylenol Bio-Oil or Mederma (something with Aloe Vera for scars once I get the ok to use them) Sippy cup Centrum liquid Multi-Vitamin Baby spoon Herbal or decaf tea or coffee Hope it helps!! We're almost there!!
  13. Jeanangell-- I too have read many negative things, but now that I am getting so close I have banned myself from reading any thread that may even possibly think about being negative LOL!! I'm sure we will all do wonderfully!! I'm gonna keep the hope alive for both of us! Take care!!
  14. Wow we have quite a group going here! Thanks everyone for sharing! I know a couple of you had surgery today, and I hope it went well! Keep us posted! Only a couple weeks left for me...eek!:tongue2: I start a four day liquid only diet on the 16th, and I still have to meet with the anesthesiologist and do preop labs next week and then I'm done! I'm going to my doctor's support group meeting next Tuesday, so if I get any helpful tips I'll pass them along. Take care everyone!!
  15. Hi all! I have been posting in the wrong section thinking there weren't any of us out there LOL:blushing: I'm getting banded Jan. 20th, seems like a popular day!! Good luck to all of you whose journey begins the end of this week! Keep us posted on how it goes! It looks like I'm a New Year Hottie!! :tongue2:
  16. So as you all know a tradition has developed on lapbandtalk.com that each group picks a name for their month.... So all you January '09 bandsters put on your creative thinking caps and let's name our group!! Any ideas??
  17. I'm being banded Jan. 20th, 2009!! When is everyone else getting theirs done? 2009 is our time to shine, best of luck to all!!
  18. I WAS APPROVED YESTERDAY!!! WOO HOO, NO DATE YET, BUT I'M ON MY WAY!!!:huh2::thumbup:
  19. Hey there, well let's see the first time it was because I "forgot" to send in my 6 month medically supervised diet, but when I pointed out the page number from the fax, they magically found it and resent it for appeal. The second time they denied saying that my physician's monthly clinical notes weren't specific enough and they needed more info. It took my dr. almost 2 months to redo this to their liking and then I submitted again. It worked though, I was approved...I think they just wanted me to jump through some hoops...:huh2: GOOD LUCK!!:cursing:
  20.:thumbup::sad_smile::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Finally after 2 denials and 2 appeals, I got my approval letter from BCBSIL today!! YIPPEE! I am absolutely ELATED! For a while there I had given up hope that I would ever get approved, but low and behold there was a bigger plan in the works for me! I have been in this process since 1/15 and am finally wrapping it up, it has been a heck of a year, but I am excited for great things to come in 2009!!
  21. Ughhhh, After two denials, I am now working on it yet again with BCBSIL. I am so aggravated and I almost feel like just giving up. I was denied the first time because "I didn't include my 6 months preop diet"....even though I pointed out that it was on pages 21 and up. So they reconsidered after I resent it....then I was denied on 8/28/08 because my diet info was "limited"...this is really getting to me. It's now September 16th and I am just coming around to dealing with it bc getting two denials has been so disheartening. I am having my doctor rewrite my six months, but this is just ridiculous. I just want to be thin and healthy.....
  22. Hey everyone, Thalia here from Tulsa, OK. Born in Lakenheath, England but was raised here in OK and in Hunstville, AL and Buloxi, MS. Up here we mix our grits with scrambled eggs and a lil bacon or sausage, whatchu know bout that?? Yet to be banded. I have submitted to BCBS and am still waiting for approval.:eek::tt1: Be blessed!
  23. That is awesome!!! And that was really quick! Congrats!! I hope mine is that quick and that I get some good news. I decided to call yesterday but it hadn't been reviewed and they told me that it usually takes 7-10 days. I'll letcha know what I hear, but best of luck with your surgery!!
  24. Slim-n-tn...I also have BCBSIL the PPO plan and submitted my file on 8/21/08. Keep me posted on how things go and good luck! I'll keep you in my thoughts!
  25. Hi all, I'm not new to the site, but this is my first post. I have finally completed all of the requirements for my insurance company and we submitted my file for approval today! I am excited, anxious and nervous all at the same time. I have BCBS of IL, so we'll see what happens.. Have a good one!
